DraftKings College Basketball DFS Lineup Picks for 1/29/22 - CBB Daily Fantasy Advice

TyTy Washington Jr. CBB DFS lineup picks NCAA daily fantasy college basketball

We have another big slate with 12 games on the main slate today. We have a huge 11-game afternoon slate as well. It's going to be a big day of college basketball with the SEC/Big 12(10) challenge going on. I'm going to cover both of them today and see what we get out of that. We begin at noon with Louisville hosting Duke, Georgia Tech hosting Miami, Georgetown at Butler, and Tulane hosting Wichita State. We start the afternoon with Michigan State and Michigan. At 2 eastern we have Iowa State hosting Missouri, Oklahoma at Auburn, The Tarheels hosting NC State, and Xavier heading to the Birdcage to take on Creighton. A half hour later we have Indiana at Maryland and Arizona hosting Arizona State. We close out the early slate with Florida State hosting Virginia Tech. This is going to be a fun one!

The afternoon slate starts at 4 Eastern with Ole Miss hosting Kansas State, Florida hosting Oklahoma State, and Bama hosting Baylor. Not a bad start! A half hour later brings us Northwestern and Illinois and Villanova hosting St. John's. The Pac 12 jumps into action at 5 eastern with Washington hosting Utah. An hour later we have the big one with Kansas hosting Kentucky. Texas Tech also hosts Mississippi State. At 6:30 we have Nebraska hosting a Rutgers team that blew them off the floor a couple of weeks ago and DePaul hosting UConn. We close it out with USC hosting Cal. We have a lot of great basketball waiting for us today!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/29/22 starting at noon Eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Early Slate:

Jalen Cook, Tulane ($8,000)

The SEC/Big 12(10) Challenge brings a lot of tough matchups. Sure, the prices are adjusted some, but I am still going to attack some of the lesser-known games. Cook has at least 26 DraftKings points in all eight games since the restart. One of those was against this same Wichita State team – in Wichita – just 17 days ago. Cook probably hit his ceiling against Tulsa this week, but the 33.25 DraftKings points that he got against the Shockers the first time around should be attainable this time as well.

Craig Porter, Wichita State ($6,400)

Porter just missed two weeks with COVID, but he triumphantly returned with 21.25 DraftKings points in 23 minutes against Central Florida earlier this week. He put up a season-best 44.75 DraftKings points on Tulane in the game before he entered COVID protocols. Porter should be fine here to take on his usual minutes load. The Shockers didn't limit him on Wednesday – Porter limited himself. He fouled out. I don't expect another 44 DraftKings point outburst with Dexter Dennis in for this game, but 30 seems possible.

Jeremy Roach, Duke ($5,100)

I will move off of Roach and onto for about the same price if Trevor Keels returns. I would be shocked if Keels played considering the Blue Devils head straight from Louisville to South Bend for a game on Monday. Roach has 50.25 DraftKings points in the two games starting in place of Keels. That's a really nice value that we need on the early slate.

Leaky Black North Carolina ($4,700)

Injuries to Dawson Garcia and Anthony Harris have opened up more minutes for the streaky Black. Black was a big part of this team last year, but he has had trouble finding a role with Garcia and Oklahoma transfer Brady Manek around. Black has rejoined the starting five over the last two games with Garcia out and racked up 54.75 DraftKings points in the two games. Take advantage before DraftKings adjusts his price.

Also consider: Dereon Seabron, North Carolina State ($8,700); Paul Scruggs, Xavier ($7,300); Izaiah Brockington, Iowa State ($7,000); Marreon Jackson, Arizona State ($6,000); Sion James, Tulane ($5,300); Tyson Walker, Michigan State ($4,500)

Afternoon Slate:

Terrell Brown, Washington ($9,400)

This is a quick turnaround for the Huskies, who survived a brawl with Colorado on Thursday. Utah promises to be a similarly physical game, so I'll reserve Brown for my GPP lines only. However, Brown mustered 37.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Utah earlier this month. He has topped that mark three times in the five games since. Brown is an elite scorer with a high ceiling.

Ron Harper Jr., Rutgers ($7,700)

Harper destroyed the Huskers for 40.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting. The son of former NBA player Ron Harper gets consistent minutes but doesn't always put up consistent numbers. Still, attacking Nebraska in DFS has been a fruitful endeavor in college basketball this year. Harper is the star of the team with a high ceiling against one of the most inconsistent teams in the country.

Geo Baker, Rutgers ($5,900)

Baker doesn't have near the upside of Harper, but he's a lot more consistent. Baker has at least 24 DraftKings points in eight of the last nine games. Even Harper can't say that and he's $1,800 more. Baker's 23.25 DraftKings points against Nebraska was a bit underwhelming, but he only played 27 minutes in the blowout. Nebraska is at home and just hung with Wisconsin earlier this week. If they can keep it close at home, both Harper and Baker have huge ceilings.

Davion Warren, Texas Tech ($4,500)

The Red Raiders are one of the best defensive teams in the country, so that shows up in the peripheral stats of everyone on the team. However, they don't have a true "star" player, so it makes it rather difficult to pay up for anyone on the team. Warren has averaged 22 DraftKings points over the last five games in one of the toughest conferences around. I like the potential for the price.

Also consider: Iverson Molinar, Mississippi State ($8,700); Collin Gillespie, Villanova ($8,300); R.J. Cole, Connecticut ($7,400); Nijel Pack, Kansas State ($6,900); Tyree Appleby, Florida ($5,700); Shakeel Moore, Mississippi State ($4,900)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Early Slate:

Armando Bacot, North Carolina ($9,100)

If it weren't for Tshiebwe, Bacot would be getting a whole lot more attention. Bacot has double-digit rebounds in every game since December 14. He has only missed the double-double bonus twice since then. His horrible shooting performance against Boston College on Wednesday is an outlier. Bacot is shooting 58% on the season including that dreadful 1-10 showing earlier this week. Bacot is the safest play out there and has plenty of upside against North Carolina State.

Keve Aluma, Virginia Tech ($7,700)

It was a slow start to the season for Aluma, but he has at least 25 DraftKings points in every game since December 1. He doesn't have the massive upside that Bacot or Banchero have, but you really can't beat Aluma for the price in cash games. He's as consistent as they get, and has 100.25 DraftKings points in the last three games alone. I really like this matchup with Malik Osborne out for Florida State as well.

Caleb Houstan, Michigan ($5,900)

It's about this time of year that freshman really start to contribute to their respective teams. The same is true for Houstan. His shot selection has been much better over the last fortnight or so. He has 53 real points over the last three games which the peripherals have turned into 77.5 DraftKings points. He's one of the better values out there right now and he's eligible everywhere.

Arthur Kaluma, Creigton ($4,700)

Kaluma has been taking a lot more shots of late – 31 in the last three games alone – which has increased his usefullness. The freshman is finally getting his bearings and the Blue Jays have rewarded him with more playing time of late. Creighton continues to run a tight rotation which will continue to provide Kaluma all of the minutes he can handle without fouling out. His stock is on the way up.

Also consider: Paolo Banchero, Duke ($9,200); Mark Williams, Duke ($7,800); Kevin Cross, Tulane ($6,800); Zach Freemantle, Xavier ($6,300); Morris Udeze, Wichita State ($5,100); Marcus Bingham, Michigan State ($4,100)

Afternoon Slate:

Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky ($9,500)

Tshiebwe put in another 20-20 double-double earlier this week. That put him over 50 DraftKings points for the eighth time in 20 games this season. No one else has this ceiling. Tshiebwe has averaged a double-double in his career against Kansas while at West Virginia before he transferred. The Mountaineers offense didn't allow much for Tshiebwe when we was on that team. He's dominant for Kentucky and Kansas doesn't really have the size to match with him.

Adama Sanogo, Connecticut ($8,200)

Sanogo still feels too cheap. He has at least 32 DraftKings points in all five games since joining the starting lineup after the restart. He's not quite the rebounder that Tshiebwe is, but he's a better scorer. The only thing we have to worry about here is if DePaul is still without Javon Freeman-Liberty and this turns into a blowout. Still, Sanogo put up 37.5 DraftKings points in a blowout win over Georgetown earlier this week.

Paul Mulcahy, Rutgers ($5,400)

Mulcahy had one of his best collegiate games against Nebraska in the first meeting, racking up 30.75 DraftKings points despite only scoring ten points. Mulcahy has perhaps the safest floor of any Rutgers player, but he's still the third option on this offense. He doesn't have much of a ceiling, making him a better asset in cash games.

Isaiah Whaley, Connecticut ($4,600)

This is a nice matchup in the frontcourt for UConn.Whaley has at least 25 DraftKings points in three of the last four games. This Huskies team plays fast and can score a lot of points in a hurry. It has been Whaley's surge in defensive numbers that has made him the asset that he was earlier in the year. His price hasn't quite adjusted yet, making him a solid value still.

Also consider: Ochai Agbaji, Kansas ($9,000); Matthew Mayer, Baylor ($7,100); Clifford Omoruyi, Rutgers ($6,700); Jermaine Samuels, Villanova ($6,200); Kellan Grady, Kentucky ($5,900); Cameron Matthews, Mississippi State ($4,400); Max Agbonkpolo, USC ($4,100)
