Welcome back to the DFS Patrol. In this article, I’ll be providing you with the top starting pitcher streamers for daily fantasy baseball (DFS) and for seasonal leagues for 4/7/16. These streamers will range from high-priced / high-ownership options to low-priced / low-ownership options, and will be sleepers and value picks for your cash games and GPPs on DraftKings and FanDuel, and also for seasonal leagues with daily lineups.

Stephen Strasburg ended up as the only top play that delivered while Kenta Maeda and Juan Nicasio were excellent value plays. The pitching options today are far from top-notch, with no player eclipsing $10,000 on either site. That mitigates some of the risk of taking a gamble at pitching, but today is a landmine field. Tread carefully.

Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays

Danny Salazar (CLE) vs BOS

FanDuel - $9,300 / DraftKings - $9,700

Salazar is the top-priced pitcher on the board, even against a tough Red Sox lineup. His 10.1 K/9 at home last year was bests among today's starters. He contained the Red Sox lineup in his two previous starts versus them as well.

Tanner Roark (WAS) vs MIA

FanDuel - $6,700 / DraftKings - $7,000

I was a bit surprised to see Roark as the only remaining pitcher with a "recommended starter' label. He has a career 3.32 ERA versus Miami, but his low strikeout potential makes this a pass for me.

Max’s Value Plays of the Day

Adam Conley (MIA) @ WAS

FanDuel - $6,200 / DraftKings - $7,300

Conley has only thrown 67 professional innings but he earned a rotation spot this Spring thanks to his 4-1 record in 11 starts. He averaged almost eight strikeouts per nine innings in that stretch and should have low ownership on the road versus Washington.

Hector Santiago (LAA) vs TEX

FanDuel - $8,000 / DraftKings - $7,800

Santiago will look to rebound from a rough second half in 2015 (5.47 ERA) versus a sputtering Rangers offense. Santiago had a 2.10 ERA versus Texas in 2015 (6 GS). His 8.3 K/9 at home last year was fourth among today's starters.

Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball

Phil Hughes (MIN) @ BAL

FanDuel - $7,000 / DraftKings - $7,200

While the reports of Hughes dropping 15 pounds are promising, there are better uses for your funds. His low K/9 rate (5.9) and high HR rate (1.9 - worst among today's starters) combined with multiple Orioles with success off Hughes makes him a fade on this slate.

Joe Kelly (BOS) @ CLE

FanDuel - $7,800 / DraftKings - $6,300

Kelly impressed many pundits with his strong Spring, and it may lead to high ownership. The Indians have a formidable offense and he faces Danny Salazar, making Joe Kelly a fade for Thursday.
