ANALYSIS: The Seattle Mariners are expected to promote top infield prospect Cole Young to the major leagues prior to their contest on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins. Young is currently ranked as the No. 43-best prospect in the sport and the No. 3-best in the system on MLB.com.

Young opened the 2025 campaign by making his Triple-A debut and was able to hold his own. Through his first 54 games with Triple-A Tacoma, the former 21st overall pick held a strong .277/.392/.461 slash line with 13 doubles, five triples, five home runs, and four stolen bases. He held an impressive 28:31 K:BB and tallied 26 RBI and scored 39 runs.

Last season, Young spent the entire campaign with Double-A and held a .271/.369/.390 slash line across 124 games.

With J.P. Crawford being the everyday shortstop in Seattle, fantasy managers should expect Young to spend most of his time at the keystone. Through the early part of the season, Dylan Moore has seen most of the time at the keystone but has posted a low .205 AVG over his last 15 games. For now, fantasy managers looking for a middle infielder with upside in 12+ team leagues should add the North Allegheny HS product.
