Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Race Strategy Could Make Tyler Reddick A Core DFS Play On Sunday

On Saturday afternoon, Tyler Reddick qualified 19th for the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Heading into the weekend, Reddick finds himself one spot outside the cutoff line for the Championship 4 race, just 10 points behind Ryan Blaney. Because of how close he is in terms of points to the cutoff line, it will be […]

Chris Buescher Will Celebrate His 31st Birthday By Starting P18 At Martinsville

Chris Buescher, who turns 31 on Sunday, will start P18 in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Heading into Sunday's elimination race, Buescher is 43 points below the cutoff line, which means he will likely have to win to advance to the championship round. With three wins on the season, one of which came on […]

Chris Buescher Shows Lackluster Effort At Homestead

On Sunday afternoon, Chris Buescher finished 21st in the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Sunday's lackluster performance was disappointing for a driver who looked like a threat to win the championship after winning three of five races back in the summer (Richmond, Michigan, and Daytona). While it is easy to dismiss one bad race, he […]

Christopher Bell Punches Ticket To Championship 4 Race

On Sunday afternoon, Christopher Bell won the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Entering the race, Bell was already riding a wave of momentum after finishing in the top five in three of the previous five races (now four of six), making this team one of the hottest in the sport. Interestingly, despite posting 70.70 points […]

Ty Gibbs Will Look To End His Slump This Weekend At Homestead-Miami

On Saturday morning, Ty Gibbs qualified ninth for Sunday's 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. While there is little doubt that Gibbs is on the verge of being one of the top stars in this sport, he has surprisingly struggled as of late. With finishes of P33 or worse in three of his last four races, […]

Chase Briscoe To Start P21 At Homestead

On Saturday morning, Chase Briscoe qualified 21st for the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Heading into 2023, there was a lot of optimism for the Stewart-Haas racing star, particularly given that he made it to the Round of 8 just last season. Unfortunately, despite the lofty expectations, this season has been a major disappointment for […]

Alex Bowman Too Risky To Roster In DFS This Weekend

Alex Bowman will start P12 in Sunday's 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. While Bowman has shown promise at times throughout 2023, there is little to like about the 30-year-old at Miami this weekend. In his seven Cup starts at this venue, he has just two top-10 finishes, with an average overall finish of 20. Although […]

Despite Qualifying P2, Fade Bubba Wallace This Weekend In DFS

On Saturday morning, Bubba Wallace qualified P2 for the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. While Wallace looked outstanding during qualifying, in recent weeks, the 23XI star has not been the same driver we saw earlier in the season. Since finishing third at Texas, the 30-year-old has failed to crack the top 10 in three straight […]

Kyle Busch A Core Play At Miami

On Saturday morning, Kyle Busch qualified 18th for Sunday's 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Although he has been eliminated from the playoffs, Busch's history in South Beach keeps him as one of the core plays of the weekend. Heading into Sunday's race, Rowdy is riding a streak of eight consecutive races in which he has […]

Tyler Reddick A Strong DFS Play At Homestead

Tyler Reddick, who finished eighth last week at Las Vegas, will start P3 in the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Entering Sunday's race, there is a lot to like about the 23XI star. For starters, he is just two spots outside the Championship 4 race, which means that unlike most of the field, he has […]

Temper Your Expectations For Christopher Bell At Homestead

On Saturday morning, Christopher Bell qualified P13 for the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Bell enters Sunday's race fresh off of a second-place finish at Las Vegas, a race in which he scored 73.80 DraftKings points. Because of his efforts last week, he now sits just two points behind his fellow JGR teammate, Denny Hamlin, […]

Ross Chastain Delivers Big In DFS At Las Vegas

After an impressive qualifying effort on Saturday, Ross Chastain followed it up on Sunday by finishing fifth in the South Point 400. Chastain, who has been producing solid fantasy numbers at intermediate tracks since the launch of the Next Gen car in 2022, once again delivered, this time at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In addition […]

Chris Buescher Finishes 11th At Las Vegas

On Sunday afternoon, Chris Buescher finished 11th in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and now sits seventh in the playoff standings. Entering the weekend, expectations for the No. 17 were lower than they had been in previous weeks, as Las Vegas is a track that he has struggled at throughout his […]

Despite Top-10 Finish, William Byron Disappoints In Fantasy

Despite running a relatively uneventful race, William Byron managed to finish seventh in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. From a racing perspective, Sunday's performance was a success, as Byron now sits second in the playoff standings, only behind Kyle Larson, who is already locked into the Championship 4. From a fantasy […]

Erik Jones A Dart Throw Play At Las Vegas

Erik Jones qualified 23rd for Sunday's South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Jones, who does have a Truck series victory at this track (2014), has been largely inconsistent in his Cup career at the "Diamond in the Desert." While he does have four top-10 finishes in just 12 Cup starts, he also has […]

Alex Bowman A Strong DFS Play At Las Vegas

Alex Bowman qualified P14 for the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Heading into this race, there is a lot to like about the nine-year Cup veteran. Not only did he win here back in 2022, but he has finished in the top 10 in 33% of the Cup races he has had […]

A.J. Allmendinger A Strong Play At Las Vegas

Fresh off a win at the Charlotte Roval, A.J. Allmendinger will start P22 at the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Because last weekend's race was at a road course, a style of track Allmendinger typically performs well at, his 28.25% ownership on DraftKings was not surprising. This weekend, however, I expect his […]

Brad Keselowski A Tempting But Risky Play At Las Vegas

Brad Keselowski will start 21st in Sunday's South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. How Keselowski will approach this race is unclear, presenting a challenge for DFS players and sports bettors. While the former Cup Champion would like to end this winless streak he has been on, and while this is a track that […]

Ross Chastain Will Start Tenth At Las Vegas

On Saturday afternoon, Ross Chastain qualified 10th for the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Although Chastain has been eliminated from the Chase for the Cup, he still needs to be on the radar for DFS players this weekend. Since the launch of the Next Gen car in 2022, America's favorite watermelon farmer […]

Ryan Blaney A Safe Play At Las Vegas

Ryan Blaney, who currently sits eighth in the playoff standings, will start P12 in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. While being the lowest-seeded driver left in the playoffs is not ideal, he is only 10 points outside the Championship 4, a deficit he can make up by having solid finishes in […]

Chris Buescher Will Start Fifth To Open The Round of 8

On Saturday afternoon, Chris Buescher qualified fifth for the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Heading into the first race in the Round of 8, Buescher finds himself sitting one spot below the cutoff line for the Championship 4. Considering how well the RFK Racing star has run this season, recovering the three […]

Kyle Larson Advances In NASCAR Playoffs

Despite starting in the 36th spot in Sunday's Bank of America Roval 400, Kyle Larson worked his way through the field and finished 13th. This strong finish proved critical for the 2021 Cup champion, as it was good enough to get him to the Round of 8. While there were times throughout the race that […]

Chase Briscoe A Value Play At The Roval

Chase Briscoe will start P30 in Sunday's Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. While Briscoe has been underwhelming for most of 2023, I absolutely love him as a play this weekend in DFS. For starters, he has performed quite well in recent weeks as he has finished in the top 20 in […]

A.J. Allmendinger Among The Top Plays In DFS At The Roval

On Saturday afternoon, A.J. Allmendinger qualified sixth for Sunday's Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. While Allmendinger's reputation as a road ringer is well known, what may not be appreciated is how well he has performed at this particular track. In his three Cup starts in this configuration, the 41-year-old has two […]

Kevin Harvick Will Start 22nd In Final Start At Charlotte

Kevin Harvick will start P22 in his final Cup start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Between the traditional oval and the road course, Harvick has made an incredible 46 Cup starts at "America's Home for Racing", three of which ended with him in the winner's circle. While all of those wins came on the traditional oval […]

Ross Chastain Needs A Big Day At The Roval

On Saturday afternoon, Ross Chastain qualified 12th for the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Heading into Sunday's race, Chastain is 11th in the playoff standings, three below the cutoff line for the round of eight. Unfortunately, the Roval has been a challenge for the Trackhouse Racing star, which does not bode […]

Kyle Larson A Core Play At The Roval

During Saturday's practice for the Bank of America Roval 400, Kyle Larson was involved in an accident that will require the team to use a backup car in Sunday's race. Because of this, Larson did not even attempt to qualify and will now start P36 in the race. While a driver having an accident in […]

Kyle Busch Facing Elimination Heading To The Roval

Kyle Busch will start fifth in the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Heading into Sunday's elimination race, KFB finds himself in what has to be treated as a must-win situation, as he is currently four spots below the cutoff line for the round of eight. While Busch is always a threat […]

Martin Truex Jr. Finishes 19th At Talladega

Martin Truex Jr. finished 19th in Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. While fans of MTJ undoubtedly would like to have seen more from their favorite driver, the performance was exactly what the regular season champion needed. Despite being recognized as one of the 75 greatest drivers in NASCAR's history, for whatever reason, Talladega has […]

Alex Bowman Starts Strong But Finishes Poorly At Talladega

On Sunday afternoon, Alex Bowman finished 29th in the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Despite having a poor finish, Sunday was a solid day for the No. 48. Not only did he lead 13 laps, but he spent 66.5% of the race in the top 15, which was the eighth-highest of the day. In fact, […]
