Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Chase Elliott Finishes 10th In The Brickyard 400

Chase Elliott finished 10th in the Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Despite being a fairly eventful race, it was a pretty underwhelming day for Elliott. While finishing with his 11th top-10 of the season is certainly something to celebrate, the performance itself was lackluster. With a DraftKings score of just 31.30, the Hendrick Motorsports […]

Violent Wreck Ends William Byron's Day At Indianapolis Prematurely

William Byron finished 38th in Sunday's Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Despite qualifying fourth for Sunday's race, Byron never looked like a legit threat to kiss the bricks on Sunday afternoon as he struggled to maintain track position throughout the day. After dropping out of the top-10, Byron found himself running 16th on lap […]

Christopher Bell Finishes Fourth In The Brickyard 400

Christopher Bell finished fourth in Sunday's Brickyard 400 from historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Although it was just his second Cup start on the oval configuration at Indy, Bell looked poised and experienced throughout Sunday's race. Despite only leading two laps, the 29-year old recorded six fastest laps and moved up 14 spots in the field, […]

What To Do With Zane Smith In DFS This Weekend?

Zane Smith will start 27th in Sunday's Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. While Sunday will mark the first Cup start on the Indianapolis oval for several drivers in this weekend's field, for Zane Smith, it will be the first oval start in any of NASCAR's three main levels. Given this inexperience, his efforts in […]

Is Brad Keselowski A Core Play In DFS At Indianapolis?

Brad Keselowski has qualified 26th for Sunday's Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After finishing outside the top-10 in three consecutive races, Keselowski got back to form with a seventh-place finish last week at Pocono. Aside from last week's strong showing, there is a lot to like about the RFK driver-owner heading into this weekend. […]

Noah Gragson Will Start 21st In Sunday's Brickyard 400

Noah Gragson will start 21st in Sunday's Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Gragson, who turned 26 on July 15th, will look to bounce back from last week's disappointing outing at Pocono, a race in which he finished in last place. Although it is unlikely that he will have the same bad luck he had […]

Despite His Struggles, Austin Cindric Is A Value Play In DFS This Weekend

Austin Cindric will start 38th in Sunday's Brickyard 400 from the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Since winning at St. Louis back on June 2nd, Cindric has yet to finish better than 15th in the six races since. In fact, the Team Penske star has just two top-10 finishes in all of 2024 and is averaging […]

What Should You Do With William Byron This Weekend At Indianapolis?

Fresh off back-to-back top-10 finishes, William Byron will look to continue this momentum on Sunday afternoon when he starts fourth in the Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Despite having just three Cup starts on the oval configuration at Indianapolis, Byron is certainly a contender to win this Sunday. Not only does he have a […]

With Five Regular Season Races Remaining, Chris Buescher Needs A Big Performance At Indianapolis Motor Speedway

On Saturday afternoon, Chris Buescher qualified 23rd for Sunday's Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With five races to go in the regular season, Buescher currently sits 145th in the playoff standings. While NASCAR lists him in the 12th position on their website, it is important to remember that Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez and Austin […]

Is A.J. Allmendinger A Value Play In DFS At Indianapolis?

A.J. Allmendinger will start 15th in the Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Known as a road course ringer, and given that he won the 2021 road course race here, Allmendinger is probably one of the few drivers that are disappointed that NASCAR is returning to the oval configuration for this year's race. Nevertheless, while […]

Brad Keselowski Finishes Seventh At The Great American Getaway 400

Brad Keselowski finished seventh in The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. With Sunday's effort, Keselowski now has 10 top-10s for the season and sits ninth in the NASCAR playoff standings. Despite an underwhelming qualifying session on Saturday, Sunday proved to be a big day for RFK Racing as both Keselowski and Buescher earned […]

Chris Buescher Earns Spot In DraftKings Winning Lineup At Pocono

On Sunday afternoon, Chris Buescher finished 11th in the Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. Heading into the weekend, Buescher was a difficult driver to assess as his results at this track had been mixed. While he did win at this venue back in 2016, he has just two top-10s in the Pennsylvania mountains. […]

Is Ryan Preece A Core Play In DFS At Pocono?

Ryan Preece will start 36th in Sunday's Great American Getaway from Pocono Raceway. Before last week's chaotic race at Chicago, which resulted in a 34th-place finish for the Stewart-Haas star, Preece had been on a bit of a hot streak, finishing fourth and 11th in the two prior races. While these finishes may not seem […]

The Case Against Michael McDowell At Pocono Raceway

Michael McDowell, who finished fifth last week at Chicago, will start 21st in Sunday's Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. Given his reputation on road courses and superspeedways, you would think that McDowell would be stronger at a Pocono than he has been throughout his career. With its length and unusual setup, it feels […]

The Case For Corey Lajoie In DFS At Pocono Raceway

Corey Lajoie will start 30th in The Great American Getaway at Pocono Raceway. To say that Lajoie has struggled at this track is an understatement. In his 11 Cup starts, he has an average finish of 27.5 and more DNFs (2) than he does top-20s (1). In addition to how terrible he has been in […]

What To Do With Carson Hocevar At Pocono Raceway?

Carson Hocevar will start from P15 in Sunday's Great American Getaway 400 from Pocono Raceway. Given that this will be Hocevar's first Cup start at the Tricky Triangle, we have limited data to go off of for the Spire Motorsports rookie. While he does have an average finish of 9.7 in three truck starts here, […]

Why Noah Gragson Is A Value Play In DFS At Pocono Raceway

On Saturday afternoon, Noah Gragson qualified 25th for The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. Despite having an average finish of 23rd in his two Cup starts here, there is a lot to like about Gragson heading into this weekend. Not only does he have a victory and three top-10s in his four Xfinity […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Alex Bowman This Weekend At Pocono

Fresh off his first victory since 2022, Alex Bowman will look to build off this momentum when he starts sixth in The Great American Getaway 400 from Pocono Raceway. Despite last week's performance, and while he does have a win at this track (2021), don't get too excited about the Hendrick Motorsports star this weekend […]

Is Christopher Bell Overpriced In DFS This Weekend?

Christopher Bell will start 13th in Sunday's Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. Coming off of finishes of 36th and 37th over the last two weeks, Bell is in need of a bounce-back performance this weekend in Pennsylvania. While he has been consistent in his two starts here in the Next Gen car, averaging […]

Tyler Reddick Finishes Runner-Up In The Chicago Street Race

Tyler Reddick finished runner-up in Sunday's Grant Park 165 from the streets of Chicago, IL. With six top-10 finishes in the last seven races, and a series-high 13 top-10s in 2024, Reddick is becoming one of the more reliable and consistent drivers in the Cup Series. Shockingly, despite his consistency, the 23XI star does not […]

William Byron Finishes Eighth In The Grant Park 165

On Sunday evening, William Byron finished eighth in the Grant Park 165 from Chicago, IL. After a disappointing qualifying effort, and despite being sent to the rear for an unapproved adjustment, Byron made the most of his situation en route to his 11th top-10 finish of the season. From the DFS side, the Hendrick Motorsports […]

Should We Be Targeting Zane Smith In DFS This Weekend?

Fresh off a runner-up finish in Nashville one week ago, Zane Smith will look to build off this momentum when he starts 30th in the Grant Park 165 from Chicago, IL. While a second-place finish is nothing to scoff at, and while the No. 71 team should take tremendous pride in what they accomplished in […]

Is Denny Hamlin Underpriced In DFS For The Chicago Street Race?

Denny Hamlin will start 11th in the Grant Park 165 from Chicago, IL. With what looked to be the win in hand just one week ago in Nashville, one that slipped away because of fuel issues related to multiple overtimes, Hamlin and his team will look for a bounce-back performance Sunday afternoon in the Windy […]

Why Justin Haley Is A Core Play In DFS This Weekend At Chicago

Justin Haley has qualified 23rd in the second annual Grant Park 165 from Chicago, IL. In last year's inaugural Chicago street race, Haley shocked the world by finishing runner-up, the highest finish of any Cup Series regular. What makes his efforts last season even more impressive is the fact that he earned this finish despite […]

Why Todd Gilliland Is A Top Value Play In the Chicago Street Race

Todd Gilliland will start 26th in the Grant Park 165 street race from Chicago, IL. Since finishing 31st at Dover back in April, Gilliland has finished 17th or better in each of the last eight races, which is the best run of his career. It is worth noting that included in this run is a […]

Why You Should Fade Austin Dillon In DFS This Weekend At Chicago

Austin Dillon will start from P15 in Sunday's Grant Park 165 from Chicago, IL. With just two top-10s on the season and with three DNFs in his last four races, 2024 has been a disaster for the 14-year Cup veteran. While it is not uncommon for a driver to have a bounce-back performance following a […]

Should You Target Austin Cindric In DFS This Weekend?

Austin Cindric has qualified 21st for Sunday's Grant Park 165 street race from Chicago, IL. Given how inconsistent he has been at the Cup level, Cindric is not typically a driver that we look to target most weeks when building our DFS lineups. A great example of how inconsistent he can be is seen in […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Chase Briscoe In The Chicago Street Race

On Saturday afternoon, Chase Briscoe qualified 22nd for the Grant Park 165 street race in Chicago, IL. Because this will be just the second street race in Cup history, there is not a lot of information to help us project this race, which means we have to look at other data points when doing our […]

Is A.J. Allmendinger A Core Play In DFS This Weekend?

A.J. Allmendinger will start 37th in Sunday's Grant Park 165 from the streets of Chicago, IL. Because of his reputation as a road course ringer, and considering that he finished 11th in this race last year, Allmendinger was already being looked at as one of the top plays on the slate heading into the weekend. […]

Five Overtimes, Fuel Issues Prevent Denny Hamlin From Earning Fourth Win

In what was perhaps the wildest ending to a race this season, Denny Hamlin went from earning what would have been his fourth win of the season to ending the day in 12th in Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. While the initial story of the weekend looked to be how an 81-minute rain delay […]
