Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Brad Keselowski A Low Risk Play At Daytona

On Friday afternoon, Brad Keselowski qualified 12th for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Heading into this race, the driver-owner finds himself in a spot not many other teams are in this weekend; specifically, his entire team is locked into the postseason. While most teams will be trying to figure out ways […]

Kevin Harvick Qualifies 10th In His Final Daytona Start.

Kevin Harvick starts tenth in Saturday's Coke Zero Sugar 400 and locked into a playoff spot. Still, expect the 23-year Cup veteran to be aggressive when the green flag waves Saturday night. In a statement released by Stewart-Haas Racing, Harvick said, "Nine times out of 10, the aggressor is going to be the guy who […]

Christopher Bell Feels No Pressure Heading Into Daytona.

Christopher Bell will start 15th in Saturday's Coke Zero Sugar 400. While this race doesn't hold much significance for Bell given that his playoff spot is secure, it does matter for his teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing. With Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin both competing for the regular season championship and with Ty Gibbs […]

It's All Or Nothing For A.J. Allmendinger At Daytona

A.J. Allmendinger will start 17th in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona. For the full-time driver, the objective is clear; he must win to qualify for the playoffs. With so much on the line, it will have to be a 'wreckers or checkers' mindset for the Kaulig Racing star, which might bode well for […]

Martin Truex Jr. Fails To Clinch Regular Season Title At Watkins Glen

After starting in 19th place, Martin Truex Jr. finished sixth at Watkins Glen. Sunday's finish marked his 15th top-10 finish this season. However, it was not enough for him to clinch the regular season championship. Despite being 60 points behind Truex in the regular season standings heading into Sunday's race, Denny Hamlin's second-place finish at […]

Joe Gibbs Racing Impresses At Watkins Glen

Joe Gibbs Racing had a successful afternoon at Watkins Glen, with Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Ty Gibbs, and Martin Truex Jr. all finishing in the top six on Sunday. This finish was particularly important for Ty Gibbs, who is now only 32 points behind Bubba Wallace, just one spot outside the playoffs. With the regular […]

Martin Truex Jr. Could Clinch Regular Season Title

On Saturday, Martin Truex Jr. qualified 19th for Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen. Although he has already won three races this season, DFS players can still expect him to be competitive over the next two weeks as he tries to secure the 2023 regular season title, an honor that comes with a 15-point bonus […]

Tyler Reddick Begins Eighth At Watkins Glen.

On Saturday, Tyler Reddick qualified eighth for Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen. While his two top 10 finishes in his only two Cup starts at this track are appealing enough, it is his success on the road courses that should really get DFS players excited. Since the start of the 2022 season, the 27-year-old […]

Kyle Larson Could Dominate Again At Watkins Glen

On Saturday afternoon, Kyle Larson qualified fifth for Sunday's Go Bowling at The Glen. As the winner of back-to-back races at this track, the No. 5 is clearly in play for both sports betting and DFS. At +500 to win on DraftKings Sportsbook, the 2021 Cup Series champion is getting favorable odds at a track […]

Denny Hamlin Wins The Pole At Watkins Glen

After an impressive practice session on Saturday, Denny Hamlin followed it up by qualifying on the pole for Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen. With one win and eight top 10s at Watkins Glen, the 42-year-old Cup veteran should be considered when building DFS lineups. However, it's important not to go all-in on this play […]

Ty Gibbs Looking For First Cup Win At Watkins Glen.

Ty Gibbs will start fourth in Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen, his second Cup start at the famed road course. Although he finished 26th at this track last year, don't read too much into it as he was driving for a different team in place of the injured Kurt Busch. Furthermore, heading into this […]

Ross Chastain Lacked Speed In Qualifying At Watkins Glen.

Ross Chastain will start 22nd at Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen. While certainly a capable road racer, and while the starting position is tempting, the Watermelon Man has struggled at this particular track. In his four Cup starts at Watkins Glen, he has finished 32nd, 27th, 12th, and 21st. As a driver who is […]

Alex Bowman In Must Win Situation Again Sunday

Alex Bowman has had a difficult season in 2023, as he has gone winless and missed four races due to a fractured vertebra. As a result, he is currently outside the playoff picture and will likely need a win in the final two weeks to secure a spot. Despite finishing poorly in four of the […]

Christopher Bell Qualifies Seventh At Watkins Glen

In the 2022 Go Bowling at the Glen, Christopher Bell moved up 30 spots in the field to finish eighth, scoring 66 DraftKings points in the process. While the 28-year-old came through in a big way one year ago, DFS players should temper their expectations heading into this year's race. For starters, Bell will be […]

A.J Allmendinger Will Start Sixth From Watkins Glen.

When A.J. Allmendinger starts sixth in Sunday's Let's Go Bowling at the Glen, he will be under some pressure. Not only is his pregnant wife past due with the couple's first baby, but this is the last road course on the Cup schedule before the playoffs begin. The 41-year-old, who is known as a road […]

Michael McDowell Kisses The Bricks At Indianapolis

Michael McDowell won the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard on Sunday afternoon in dominating fashion. After starting fourth, the 38-year-old maintained track position throughout the day, leading 54 laps in the effort. The win, which came in a nearly caution-free race, did not come easy, as Chase Elliott was less than a second behind heading […]

Mechanical Issues Leads To 36th-Place Finish For Kyle Busch

With 25 laps remaining, Kyle Busch was in 11th place when a mechanical issue forced him to pit for new tires. Although he was unlikely to compete for the win, he had the potential to finish better than the 36th-place result he ended up with. This is the third time in five races that the […]

Joey Logano Has A Disappointing Day At The Brickyard

Joey Logano's Sunday afternoon at Indianapolis ended in disappointment after he finished 34th in the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Just six laps into the race, the Team Penske veteran collided with his teammate Ryan Blaney, causing the No. 22 to fall to the back of the field, a position from which he would never […]

Christopher Bell Finishes Ninth At Indianapolis

After starting in the seventh spot, Christopher Bell led 11 laps, recorded two fastest laps and finished in ninth place in the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Sunday's finish marks the 12th top-10 finish for the 28-year-old in 2023. Despite another solid racing performance at Indianapolis, the No. 20 once again failed to deliver for […]

Daniel Suarez Finishes Third Following A Disastrous Pit Stop

Daniel Suarez finished third in Sunday's Verizon 200 at the Brickyard and now sits one spot outside the playoffs, just 28 points below the cutoff line. Although a third-place finish is normally something to be proud of, for Trackhouse Racing, it will be a reminder of what could have been. After starting on the pole, […]

Daniel Suarez Wins Pole For Verizon 200 at the Brickyard

During the summer of 2022, Daniel Suarez emerged as a dominant road course racers in the Cup Series. Between June-August, the Monterrey, Mexico native finished in the top five in three of four road races, including a first-place finish at Sonoma. The one race he didn't look great at over that span was his 28th-place […]

Kyle Larson A Low Risk Choice At Indianapolis.

After finishing fifth at Michigan last week, Kyle Larson will look to build off this momentum in Sunday's Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. At press time, various outlets have the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver at good value. Seeing numbers around +1000 are tempting, given that the No. 5 has proven himself on this track in […]

Christopher Bell Is A Challenge For DFS Players At Indianapolis.

Christopher Bell starts seventh for Joe Gibbs Racing on Sunday but creates a dilemma for DFS players. On one hand, he is an incredibly talented driver who can compete on all tracks, including road courses. Just look at his effort at the Brickyard just one year ago. At the 2022 Indy race, Bell led 17 […]

Michael McDowell Risky Option At Indianapolis.

Michael McDowell begins fourth for Sunday's Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Now, the 2021 Daytona 500 champion has more than proven himself on road courses throughout his Cup career. Since Indianapolis' technical nature suits his style well, the Front Row Motorsports star will likely maintain a presence in the top 10 throughout the day. However, […]

Martin Truex Jr. Looks To Maintain Form At Indianapolis

Martin Truex Jr. still qualified 12th on Saturday which now offers some opportunity for positive place differential. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has been phenomenal this season with three wins and eight top-three finishes. Even over the last four races alone, he is averaging an incredible 75.31 points on DraftKings, the most of anyone on […]

Joey Logano Is A Sneaky Option At Indianapolis.

Joey Logano starts 18th in Sunday's Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. The Team Penske driver has been quietly good for DFS players this summer. Over the last four races, the reigning Cup Champion finished in the optimal DraftKings lineup twice, which matches Chris Buescher. While most of the focus in the Ford camp remains on […]

Kyle Busch Is A Great Option At The Brickyard

On Saturday, Kyle Busch qualified fifth for Sunday's Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. In a season that has lived up to his 'Rowdy' moniker, it can be difficult to know whether to play the 2019 Cup Champion each week in DFS. While he does have three wins on the season, he has also finished in […]

Ross Chastain Still A Strong Play At Indianapolis

Ross Chastain finished in 27th place last year but he crossed the line in second place. With two laps left, Chastain was in fourth place when a wreck occurred in turn one. The Trackhouse Racing Chevy drove into an access lane. NASCAR penalized him 30 seconds after the race. Chastain showed great late-run speed in […]

Ryan Blaney Admits Extra Pressure To Perform Well At Indy

Ryan Blaney starts the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard 16th on Sunday afternoon. Blaney, who drives the No. 12 Ford for Team Penske, acknowledged the added pressure to perform well. In an interview with Fox Sports, Blaney admitted, "It's just known. And everybody tries really hard to get it done. So that'd be a very […]

Christopher Bell Shows Grit At Michigan

Christopher Bell, who started on the pole in the FireKeepers Casino 400, was contending for the lead on lap 65 when he began spinning, causing damage to his Toyota Camry. Although the accident did not end his day, it did cause him to fall to the back of the field just 10 laps before the […]
