Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Justin Haley Comes Through For DFS At Kansas

Justin Haley finished 21st in the Hollywood Casino 400 held at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. Although it may not seem significant for a non-playoff driver to finish 21st, it is worth noting that his performance was impressive enough to get him into the winning lineup in the DraftKings featured contest on Sunday afternoon. With a […]

Michael McDowell's Disastrous Postseason Continues At Kansas

Michael McDowell finished in the 26th position in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. This was the second consecutive race where the 38-year-old finished 26th or worse, which puts him on the verge of being eliminated from the playoffs heading into the final week of the opening round. McDowell has had a […]

Ryan Blaney Is Now Sixth In The Playoff Standings

Ryan Blaney finished in 12th place in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Although it was a relatively uneventful day for the No. 12, he managed to spend 91.4% of the race in the top 15, which should boost his confidence going forward. However, the biggest takeaway from this race is that he is […]

Kyle Larson Finishes Fourth At Kansas

Kyle Larson secured a fourth-place finish at the Hollywood Casino 400 held at Kansas Speedway. Despite having already qualified for the second round of the playoffs, the former Cup champion displayed remarkable aggression on Sunday, as he led 99 laps and recorded 50 fastest laps. Although the race didn't end the way he would have […]

Tyler Reddick Advances To The Round Of 12

Tyler Reddick emerged as the winner of the Hollywood Casino 400, qualifying for the round of 12. On the final lap, Reddick skillfully maneuvered to the bottom of the track, overtaking Eric Jones and Joey Logano. Reddick now has four top eight results in his last five races. The win, which was aided by a […]

Is Daniel Suarez A Contrarian Play At Kansas?

Daniel Suarez will start 15th in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400. Even though he is not a playoff driver, the Trackhouse Racing driver remains a viable DFS play for this race, especially at his $7,500 salary on DraftKings. Now, Kansas is not one of the stronger tracks for the 31-year-old driver. Suarez has managed to finish […]

Harrison Burton Will Start 29th At Kansas

On Saturday afternoon, Harrison Burton qualified 29th for the Hollywood Casino 400. To put it mildly, 2023 has been a real struggle for the 22-year-old as he has more DNFs (3) than he does top tens (2). To make matters worse, in his three Cup starts at Kansas, the second-generation racer has an average finish […]

Michael McDowell Will Start Seventh At Kansas

Michael McDowell qualified seventh for Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. While he has had a solid 2023 season, he is currently sitting at 16th in the standings and is likely to be among the first four out when the second round begins in two weeks. Despite showing tremendous speed during Saturday's qualifying, his […]

Justin Haley Is A Value Play At Kansas

Justin Haley is set to start 30th in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400. Though he hasn't performed well at Kansas in the past, Haley is a great option for DFS this weekend. Throughout 2023 he has been a consistent play on DraftKings, even appearing in the optimal lineup six times this season. Another interesting fact about […]

Ryan Blaney Will Begin 17th At Kansas.

Ryan Blaney will start 17th in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Throughout his Cup career, Blaney's performance at this track has been average. He has never finished better than third in his 17 Cup starts at this track, and his average finish is only 16.4. Despite this, there is reason to consider playing […]

Ross Chastain Looking to Extend His Streak Of Top Tens At Kansas

Ross Chastain will start sixth in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Currently, he is three spots above the cutoff line for the second round of playoffs. Although he seems to be in a good position to make it to the round of 12, he must perform well in the next two weeks to […]

Avoidable Mistakes Cost Ricky Stenhouse At Darlington

On Sunday night, Ricky Stenhouse finished 16th at the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Prior to the race, Stenhouse had +10000 odds of winning, which implies there is little expected of him entering the playoffs. Despite these low expectations, the No. 47 did look fast at times Sunday night, but a series of […]

Brad Keselowski Finishes Sixth At Darlington

Brad Keselowski had a great start to the 2023 playoffs by finishing sixth in the Cook Out Southern 500. Consistency was the key for Keselowski on Sunday night, as he spent 94% of the race in the top 15. While he didn't lead any laps, he did record nine fastest laps, which is an important […]

Michael McDowell Has Disappointing Start To 2023 Playoffs

Michael McDowell had a disappointing start to the 2023 playoffs, finishing 32nd at Darlington. Despite showing impressive speed during practice and qualifying on Saturday, the 38-year-old was unable to replicate that performance during the race. To make matters worse, with only 37 laps to go, an incident occurred that caused significant damage to his No. […]

Aggressive Blocking Costs Daniel Suarez At Darlington

Despite finishing in 34th place in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500, Daniel Suarez had a much better race than the results suggest. He was running in the top 10 with 49 laps to go when an incident with Alex Bowman caused the left front tire of his No. 99 car to lock up, effectively ending […]

Pit Crew Change Proves Disastrous For Christopher Bell

Christopher Bell started off strong in the Cook Out Southern 500 but unfortunately faced a series of setbacks resulting in a 23rd-place finish. Prior to the race weekend, Joe Gibbs Racing made the decision to switch Bell's crew with Ty Gibbs' crew in an attempt to improve the No. 20's speed on pit road. However, […]

Brad Keselowski Focused On The Win Entering Playoffs

Brad Keselowski, who qualified fifth for Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500, has a lot of momentum entering the playoffs. Although he hasn't won a race since 2021, he finished second last week at Daytona, just behind the No. 17 car, which he owns. With both RFK drivers in the Chase for the Cup, Keselowski's focus […]

Daniel Suarez A Sneaky Option At Darlington

On Saturday afternoon, Daniel Suarez qualified 21st for Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. While not a playoff driver, the Monterrey, Mexico native is still a viable play this weekend in DFS. Since the launch of the next-gen car in 2022, Suarez is averaging 37.20 points on DraftKings at tracks known for having […]

A.J. Allmendinger Provides Little Upside At Darlington

On Saturday afternoon, A.J. Allmendinger qualified 16th for Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. As one of the drivers that is already building for 2024, there is little reason to be excited about The Dinger heading into this weekend. Furthermore, while the 41-year-old Kaulig Racing star has 12 Cup starts at "The Lady […]

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Begins 25th Sunday At Darlington

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. qualified 25th for Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 from Darlington Raceway. In 15 Cup starts at the "Lady in Black," the Daytona 500 champion has just one top 10, with an average finish of 23rd. Likewise, his recent performances this season have been underwhelming as well. Since June 4, the 35-year-old has […]

Michael McDowell Will Start Ninth At Darlington.

Michael McDowell, who will start ninth in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500, has been inconsistent entering the playoffs. Three weeks ago, the 38-year-old performed exceptionally well at the Indianapolis Road Course as he was nearly perfect in every aspect of the race. However, in the two races since, his performance has been lackluster, giving some […]

Christopher Bell Will Start On The Pole At Darlington

On Saturday afternoon, Christopher Bell qualified on the pole for Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500. In eight Cup starts at Darlington, Bell has an average finish of 16th, just two top 10s, and an underwhelming average of 30.53 points on DraftKings. While these lackluster results and the fact that he offers no place differential could […]

Kyle Larson Will Look To Bounce Back At Darlington

Kyle Larson starts 18th in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500. He comes off finishes of 26th and 27th in his last two races. Despite these struggles, Larson remains a valuable option. Two other times this season, Larson struggled some the past two times at Darlington with 20th and 12th place results. However, since the launch […]

Kevin Harvick Picks Up Another Top 10 In His Final Race At Daytona

On Saturday night, Kevin Harvick finished ninth in the Coke Zero Sugar 400. It was his final race at Daytona International Speedway. For a moment, the No. 4 looked like he might win. However, a scary crash involving Ryan Preece paved the way to what was an unfortunate restart for the former Cup champion. Despite […]

Christopher Bell Finishes 16th At Daytona

Christopher Bell finished 16th in Saturday's Coke Zero Sugar 400, but his finish is not the big story coming out of Daytona. For Bell, the talk this week will be about him costing his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Ty Gibbs, a shot at the playoffs. With one lap to go in stage two, the No. […]

A.J. Allmendinger’s Playoff Dreams End Late At Daytona

A.J. Allmendinger's postseason dreams were crushed when a major wreck occurred the last lap of Stage Two at the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Allmendinger was in 11th place when Christopher Bell made contact with Ty Gibbs, causing a chain reaction that took out several cars, including the No.16. Although the accident did not force the […]

Martin Truex Jr. Wins The 2023 Regular Season Championship

Based on his finish in stages one and two of Saturday's Coke Zero Sugar 400, Martin Truex Jr. secured his first regular season title since 2017. While winning the regular season crown is something any driver would be proud of, it is worth much more than just bragging rights. With this accomplishment, MTJ is awarded […]

Martin Truex Jr. Looking For First Regular Season Title Since 2017

On Saturday night, Martin Truex Jr. of Joe Gibbs Racing will attempt to win his first regular season championship since 2017 when he starts 13th at the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Despite a solid performance in Friday's qualifying, Truex has never won at Daytona in 36 Cup starts, and has an average finish of just […]

Tyler Reddick To Start 20th At Daytona

Tyler Reddick will start 20th in Saturday's regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway. Despite finishing second in this race one year ago, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Reddick heading into Saturday's race. Because his 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace is on the playoff bubble, it is unclear where the focus of the former […]

Kyle Larson Qualifies Seventh On Saturday At Daytona.

Kyle Larson's streak of four straight front row starts at Daytona International Speedway will end on Saturday night as he qualified seventh for the Coke Zero Sugar 400. However, the bigger story for Hendrick Motorsports heading into Saturday will be centered around teammates Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman, as both drivers will be competing for […]
