On Sunday night, Ricky Stenhouse finished 16th at the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Prior to the race, Stenhouse had +10000 odds of winning, which implies there is little expected of him entering the playoffs. Despite these low expectations, the No. 47 did look fast at times Sunday night, but a series of avoidable mistakes prevented him from having a much better finish. The combination of a pit road speeding penalty and two long pit road stops during stages two and three dashed any hopes of a top 10 finish.
