Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Dave Ragan Is The Core Play In DFS At Daytona

For the first time since 2022, Dave Ragan will run a regular-season Cup Series race when he starts P40 in Sunday's Daytona 500. While Dave Ragan may not be a name that newer fans are familiar with, it is a name that all DFS players should know. In his two appearances at Daytona International Speedway […]

Denny Hamlin Among Betting Favorites To Win The Daytona 500

After a strong performance in Thursday's Bluegreen Vacations Duel, Denny Hamlin will start P8 in Sunday's 66th running of the Daytona 500. Given that he is a three-time Daytona 500 champion, and after the speed displayed by the Toyotas in the Duels, Hamlin is among the favorites to win Sunday's race, currently sitting at +1000 […]

Should We Bet Chase Elliott To Win At Daytona?

Chase Elliott, NASCAR's most popular driver six years in a row, will start fifth in Sunday's Daytona 500. To say that 2023 was a frustrating season for the second-generation star is an understatement. Not only did he go winless, but an injury sustained while snowboarding and a suspension caused him to miss seven races in […]

Limit Your Exposure To William Byron At Daytona

William Byron will start 18th in Sunday's 66th running of the Daytona 500. After winning a career-high six races in 2023, FanDuel sportsbook lists Byron among the favorites to win the title in 2024 at plus-600. Although there is little doubt that the 26-year-old will have a great 2024, what is less clear is what […]

Ryan Blaney Will Begin His Title Defense In A Backup Car

On Thursday night, Ryan Blaney was involved in an 11-car accident on lap 48 of the Bluegreen Vacations Duel (second race) at Daytona International Speedway. As a result of the damage this wreck caused to the No. 12 Ford Mustang, Blaney will now have to go to a backup car for the 66th running of […]

Ty Gibbs To Start 15th At Daytona

Ty Gibbs will begin his sophomore season in the Cup Series by starting 15th in Sunday's Daytona 500. Fresh off winning Rookie of the Year in 2023, there is a lot to be excited about for Gibbs heading into 2024. Considering he won the Xfinity Series championship at just 20 years old, a playoff appearance […]

Alex Bowman's Streak Of Front-Row Starts Ends

Alex Bowman's streak of six consecutive front-row starts in the Daytona 500 will end this Sunday when he starts seventh in The Great American Race. Despite being an impressive streak that will likely never be duplicated given the parity that the Next Gen car has introduced, Bowman didn't do much with the opportunity the favorable […]

Iowa Speedway Set For Cup Series Debut In 2024

On June 16, 2024, history will be made as the NASCAR Cup Series makes its debut at Iowa Speedway. Located in Newton, IA, a small corn farm town located roughly 35 miles east of Des Moines, this track is known for producing exciting races, a reputation that has earned it the nickname “the fastest short […]

How Legacy Motor Club Switching To Toyota In 2024 Will Shake Things Up

In May 2023, Legacy Motor Sports announced that the organization would switch from Chevy to Toyota beginning in 2024. The decision to jump manufacturers came as a surprise to many, particularly given the decorated history that Legacy minority owner Jimmie Johnson had with Chevrolet. Nevertheless, with this new era in the young company’s history upon […]

Martin Truex Jr. Among Betting Favorites To Win The Championship In 2024

After a disappointing 2022, Martin Truex Jr. bounced back in a major way in 2023. Not only did he win three races, but his consistency throughout the summer led him to the 2023 regular season championship. In the last seven races of the regular season, MTJ finished in the top 10 in six of those […]

Carson Hocevar Will Race Full-Time For Spire Motorsports In 2024

Carson Hocevar, who has competed in the NASCAR Truck Series for only three full seasons, will make the jump to the Cup level in 2024 as a member of Spire Motorsports. While he is certainly a talented driver, there are concerns that he may be taking on too much too soon. Among the concerns is […]

Denny Hamlin Among Favorites To Win His First NASCAR Championship

With 51 race wins at the Cup level, three Daytona 500 victories, and a team that he is co-owner of, Denny Hamlin has accomplished a lot in his NASCAR career. The one thing he has not done, however, is win the Cup Series championship. Always the polarizing figure, Hamlin's lack of championship success has not […]

Ty Gibbs Enters His Sophomore Season With High Expectations

Ty Gibbs, the winner of the Rookie of the Year award for the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023, is entering the 2024 season with high expectations. In his first full season on the Cup Series, he achieved 10 wins and four top-five finishes, success he will look to build on this year. Regarded as one […]

William Byron Among Betting Favorites To Win The Title In 2024

In 2023, William Byron had a career year. Not only did he finish third in NASCAR's final standings, but he finished the season with the most wins (6), the most top 10s (21), and was tied for the most top 5s (15). Because of this success, Byron is considered a top contender for the 2024 […]

William Byron's Championship Dreams Shattered At Phoenix

William Byron's bid to win the 2023 NASCAR Cup Championship came up just a bit short on Sunday afternoon as he finished fourth in the 2023 Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Although the result was certainly not what the 25-year-old was hoping for, he did perform well in the desert. Evidence of just […]

Ross Chastain Ends 2023 With Victory At Phoenix

On Sunday afternoon, Ross Chastain picked up his second checkered flag of the season by winning the 2023 Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Despite having had success at Phoenix in the past, Sunday's victory did come as a bit of a surprise, as the final race has always been won by a Championship […]

Despite Starting P14, Todd Gilliland Still Holds DFS Value At Phoenix

On Saturday afternoon, Todd Gilliland qualified 14th for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Gilliland, who enters Sunday's race fresh off a top-10 performance, will look to build off this momentum at Phoenix. While never a threat to win a race, the 23-year-old remains one of my favorite value plays in DFS […]

Ty Gibbs Will Start P11 Ahead Of An Emotional Anniversary For The JGR Family

On Saturday afternoon, Ty Gibbs qualified 11th for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. While the end of a season can always be emotional, for Gibbs, this weekend takes on a different meaning as Monday marks the one-year anniversary of his father's passing. On November 6, 2022, just hours after his son […]

Austin Cindric To Start 27th At Phoenix

Austin Cindric will start 27th in Sunday's season finale race at Phoenix Raceway. Despite a disappointing 2023, it has already been announced that Cindric will return to the No. 2 next season, an announcement that shows that Team Penske still has a lot of confidence in the young driver. While the future does look promising […]

Chase Briscoe A Core Play In DFS This Weekend

On Saturday afternoon, Chase Briscoe qualified 26th for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. While certainly not an exciting name, and while 2023 has been underwhelming, Briscoe is perhaps my favorite non-Championship 4 play this weekend. Not only does he have a Cup series win at this track, but in the three […]

Ross Chastain Looking To End 2023 On A High Note At Phoenix

Ross Chastain will wrap up the 2023 season by starting P8 in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Although 2023 has certainly been a disappointment given the expectations he set for himself in 2022, there is a lot of reason to be excited about Chastain this weekend at Phoenix. Considering he has […]

Chris Buescher Earns Top 10 Start At Phoenix

On Saturday afternoon, Chris Buescher qualified P9 for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Despite being eliminated from the NASCAR playoffs, Buescher had a tremendous 2023. Not only were his three wins, eight top-five finishes, and 16 top 10s all career highs, but he enters the race +2 in place differential on […]

William Byron Will Start On Pole In Championship Race

William Byron will start on the pole in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Despite finishing 13th in last week's race at Martinsville, Byron comes into this race white hot as he has finished in the top 10 in seven of the nine playoff races. Considering he has both a Cup win […]

Chris Buescher Eliminated From NASCAR Playoffs

On Sunday afternoon, Chris Buescher finished eighth in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. While Buescher did exceed value on DraftKings by scoring 47.35 points on an $8,600 salary, he was unfortunately eliminated from the NASCAR playoffs. Despite being competitive, which is evident in that he finished at +10 place differential, he just didn't quite […]

Christopher Bell Finishes In Top 10 For Third Straight Week

Christopher Bell had a strong outing on Sunday afternoon as he finished seventh in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Despite having already punched his ticket to the Championship 4, Bell appeared to take this race very seriously as he spent 498 of 500 laps in the top 15. While he failed to deliver value […]

Todd Gilliland A Value Play At Martinsville

On Saturday afternoon, Todd Gilliland qualified 17th for the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. While certainly not the most exciting name to roster, Gilliland is consistently one of the better value drivers in the Cup series. With five appearances in the DraftKings optimal lineup this season, as well as a +4 average in place differential, […]

Erik Jones Qualifies 29th For the Xfinity 500

Erik Jones will start 29th in Sunday's Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Despite looking like a star on the rise over the last few seasons, Jones has had a disappointing 2023. Not only does he have six fewer top 10s this season than he had last year, but his average finish of 20.4 is the […]

At P2, Ty Gibbs Now A Top Play At Martinsville

On Saturday afternoon, Ty Gibbs followed up an impressive practice session by qualifying second in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Given that he has an average finish of 18.7 in his two Cup starts at Martinsville, you may be tempted to fade the second-generation driver, but I would discourage you from doing this. While […]

A.J. Allmendinger Will Start P25 At Martinsville

On Saturday afternoon, A.J. Allmendinger qualified P25 for Sunday's Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. To say that October has been a good month for the 16-year Cup veteran is an understatement. Not only did he win at the Charlotte Roval earlier in the month, but just last week he finished fifth at Homestead, making him […]

Kevin Harvick Earns Top 10 Start In His Final Race At The Paperclip

Kevin Harvick will start P8 in his final start at Martinsville Speedway. Because the Championship 4 race has only ever been won by a driver in the championship round, Sunday's race at Martinsville is likely the last shot at victory for the future hall-of-famer. Unfortunately for Harvick, this race is not happening at one of […]
