Chase Elliott, NASCAR's most popular driver six years in a row, will start fifth in Sunday's Daytona 500. To say that 2023 was a frustrating season for the second-generation star is an understatement. Not only did he go winless, but an injury sustained while snowboarding and a suspension caused him to miss seven races in total, an absence that certainly played a role in his failure to make the playoffs. Despite last season's disappointments, Elliott kicked off 2024 with a strong performance in Thursday night's Bluegreen Vacation Duel at Daytona, a performance that sent a reminder that he is still among the elite drivers in the Cup Series. While a top-five starting position at Daytona makes any driver a liability in DFS, his +1400 odds to win on FanDuel Sportsbook are certainly appealing. Considering he has three top-five finishes at this track in just 16 starts, including a fourth-place finish last August, there is a case to be made for the No. 9 finding its way to victory lane.
