Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Is John Hunter Nemechek A Value Play At Richmond?

John Hunter Nemechek will start 18th in Sunday's Toyota Owners 400. Given that he has finished in the top five in each of his last three Xfinity appearances at this track and that he won the Truck race here in 2021, there is a lot to like about Nemechek heading into this weekend's race. While […]

Corey LaJoie Will Start P21 At Richmond Raceway

Corey Lajoie will start 21st in Sunday's Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. In 12 Cup starts at Richmond, Lajoie has never finished in the top 10 and has an average finish of 28.1, which is the 33rd worst among active drivers. His average finish of 26th and DraftKings average of 8.97 in the three […]

Brad Keselowski Among Top DFS Plays At Richmond

After a disappointing trip to Circuit of the Americas (COTA) last weekend, Brad Keselowski's struggles continued Saturday afternoon as he qualified 23rd for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Despite these recent challenges, there is a lot to like about the 2012 Cup Series champion heading into Sunday night's race. In 28 Cup starts […]

Carson Hocevar Will Start 25th In Cup Series Debut At Richmond

Carson Hocevar will start 25tg in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Due to this being Hocevar's first Cup start at the "Action Track," our data is both limited and contradictory for the Spire Motorsports rookie. For example, in his four Truck starts at this track, the 21-year-old has two top-10s, including an impressive […]

Noah Gragson Will Start 17th At Richmond

After finishing 27th in practice speed (118.105 mph), Noah Gragson improved by over three miles per hour during qualifying, enough to earn him the 17th starting position for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. After starting the season with two top-10 finishes in the first three races, Gragson has hit a rough patch, finishing […]

Limit Your Exposure To William Byron This Weekend In DFS

Fresh off a victory last weekend at COTA, William Byron will start 13th in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway, ending his streak of consecutive top-10 starts at Richmond at four races. Despite having strong starting positions in the four previous races at this venue, the seven-year Cup veteran has struggled to maintain track […]

Can Josh Berry Turn His Season Around At Richmond Raceway?

Josh Berry will start 30th in Sunday's Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Berry, who is in his first full season in the Cup Series, is off to a rocky start in 2024. Despite being with a storied team (Stewart-Haas Racing) and in a car that was always competitive when Kevin Harvick was behind the […]

Texas Native Chris Buescher Finishes Eighth At COTA

Chris Buescher finished eighth in Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. Despite being his fourth top-10 finish of the season, it was a rather uneventful day for the Texas native in the Lone Star State. Perhaps the biggest story coming out of the race is that Buescher […]

Kyle Busch Confronts Christopher Bell Following A Top-10 Finish At COTA

On Sunday afternoon, Kyle Busch finished ninth in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas, marking his second top-10 finish of the season. While a top-10 finish would normally be a topic of conversation, that is not why everyone is talking about Kyle Busch exiting the weekend. In turn one of lap […]

Is Ricky Stenhouse Jr. A Core Play This Weekend At COTA?

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start P30 in Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA). While Stenhouse is always a bit of a wild card, particularly outside of NASCAR's superspeedways, he is always a driver to consider when building DFS lineups. In 2023, Stenhouse appeared in the DraftKings optimal lineup nine times, […]

Noah Gragson Will Start Last In Sunday's Race At COTA

On Saturday afternoon, Noah Gragson qualified 39th for Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA). Gragson is off to a hot start in 2024, as he has three top 12s in just five races. Even with last week's 34th place finish, which came in a race plagued by tire issues, his […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Joey Logano In DFS This Weekend

On Saturday afternoon, Joey Logano qualified 35th for Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA). Although Logano is widely considered among NASCAR's elite drivers, his 2024 results do not reflect this. With two DNFs and an average finish of 25th, the 2022 Cup Series champion currently sits 30th in the playoff […]

Corey Lajoie's Starting Position a Liability in DFS This Weekend

Corey Lajoie will start fifth in Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. Despite finishing 11th in this race last year, there is little reason to be excited about Lajoie this weekend in DFS. In 24 Cup starts on road courses, he has never finished in the top […]

Will Brad Keselowski’s Recent Success Continue This Weekend At COTA?

Brad Keselowski, fresh off back-to-back top-five finishes, will start 36th in Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. While the last two weeks have given the RFK Racing driver-owner a much-needed shot in the arm, do not expect the streak of top-five finishes to continue at COTA. Despite […]

Should You Fade Austin Dillon In DFS This Weekend?

Austin Dillon's rocky start to the 2024 season continued on Saturday as he qualified 21st for the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA). For fans of the former reality TV star, the last year and a half has felt more like a nightmare as he has just two top-10 finishes in […]

Will Ryan Blaney Hit Value In DFS This Weekend At COTA?

On Saturday afternoon, Ryan Blaney qualified 28th for Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. Despite last week's 16th-place finish at Bristol, Blaney enters Sunday's race with considerable momentum, as he has already earned three top-five finishes in 2024. Unfortunately for the reigning Cup Series champion, Sunday's race […]

Kaz Grala Finishes 19th At Bristol Motor Speedway

Kaz Grala finished 19th in Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Heading into the race, there was little reason to be excited about Grala, particularly as it relates to DFS. Not only did Sunday mark his first Cup start at the Last Great Colosseum, but he was the only driver not to get […]

Brad Keselowski Exceeds Value In DFS At Bristol Motor Speedway

On Sunday evening, Brad Keselowski earned his second top-five in a row by securing a third-place finish in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Despite the chaotic tire situation that affected many drivers throughout the 500-lap race, Keselowski managed to stay in the top 15 for 98.6% of the race and earned an […]

Chase Elliott Earns First Top 10 Finish Of 2024

On Sunday evening, Chase Elliott finished eighth in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Sunday's result was the first top-10 finish for the former Cup Series champion since the Charlotte Roval last fall, a stretch that spanned eight races. Given that he only led eight laps, spent just 48.7% of the race in […]

Can Bubba Wallace Return Value In DFS This Weekend?

After recording the third-fastest speed during Saturday's practice (126.922), Bubba Wallace followed it up by qualifying ninth in Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. In the first two races of 2024, Wallace looked like a contender for the NASCAR championship, finishing fifth in both races. In the two races that followed, his results […]

Breaking Down Why Chase Elliott is a Top Pick for DFS This Weekend

After finishing with just the 16th fastest practice time (15.385), Chase Elliott ended up qualifying fifth for Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Despite not having gone to victory lane since October 2022, and while it has been eight races since he has finished in the top 10, there is still a lot […]

Limit Your Exposure To Ricky Stenhouse Jr. This Weekend In DFS

On Saturday evening, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. qualified 27th for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Although Stenhouse did improve by 0.043 seconds from practice to qualifying, he was still much slower than most of the field. What makes this lack of speed even more concerning is that the issue doesn't appear to be […]

Michael McDowell Will Make His Fourth Top 10 Start Of 2024 Sunday At Bristol Motor Speedway

Michael McDowell will start seventh in Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, marking the fourth time this season he will start in the top 10. Although McDowell has considerable experience on Bristol's concrete, the experiences have largely been negative. In his 24 starts, he has just two top 10s, eight DNFs, and an […]

Is Carson Hocevar A Value Play In DFS This Weekend?

Spire Motorsports rookie Carson Hocevar will start 35th in Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Despite being his rookie season, Hocevar does have Cup experience at this track as he was given the opportunity to drive the No. 42 in place of the suspended Noah Gragson last fall. In that race the 21-year-old […]

Is Noah Gragson A Core Play This Weekend At Bristol?

On Saturday evening, Noah Gragson qualified 22nd for his Cup Series debut on Bristol's concrete for Sunday's Food City 500. While Sunday will mark Gragson's first non-dirt Cup start at "The Last Great Colosseum", he does have six Xfinity starts on this surface. In these six starts, he has two wins, four top 10s, and […]

Will Josh Berry’s Disappointing Start To 2024 Continue Sunday At Bristol?

After a disappointing practice session, Josh Berry bounced back by qualifying second for Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Speedway. To say that Berry's rookie season is off to a rough start is an understatement. In the first four races of 2024, he has yet to finish in the top 20, which is shocking given […]

A.J. Allmendinger Will Make His Second Cup Start Of 2024 At Bristol Motor Speedway.

On Saturday evening, A.J. Allmendinger qualified 30th for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Sunday's race will be the second out of an estimated 12-15 Cup starts for Allmendinger in 2024. In his only other start this season, which came in the Daytona 500, he led nine laps and ended the day with […]

Tyler Reddick Wraps Up NASCAR's West Coast Swing With Back-To-Back Top 10s.

On Sunday evening, Tyler Reddick wrapped up NASCAR's west coast swing by finishing 10th in the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. While a 10th-place finish typically indicates a strong race, in this case, it does not do the driver of the No. 45 justice, given how strong he looked throughout the day. Not only […]

Brad Keselowski Earns First Top 10 Of 2024 At Phoenix

Brad Keselowski earned his first top 10 of the season by finishing fourth in Sunday's Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Despite Phoenix not being considered one of Keselowski's strongest tracks, he performed exceptionally well on Sunday afternoon. Although he did not lead at any point in the race, he spent 88% of the race […]

Chris Buescher Finishes 2nd At Phoenix Raceway

After finishing 37th in Las Vegas, Chris Buescher bounced back with a second-place finish in the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Despite only spending 56.1% of the race in the top 15, Buescher was able to move into second place on lap 303, 6.4 seconds behind race leader Christopher Bell. While the No. 17 […]
