Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

On Saturday afternoon, Erik Jones qualified 28th for Sunday's Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. On a slate with so much uncertainty, Jones looks to be one of the more reliable plays heading into the weekend. In his four starts in the Next Gen car at Talladega, the Legacy Motor Club star has finished in sixth […]

How Should You Approach Daniel Hemric In DFS This Weekend At Talladega?

Daniel Hemric will start 19th in Sunday's Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Despite 2024 being a largely disappointing season for Hemric, he did have a solid fantasy performance last weekend at Texas. After starting 38th, the 33-year-old ended the day with a 20th-place finish, earning 41 DraftKings points on a salary of just $5,200. Although […]

Is Noah Gragson A Value Play This Weekend In DFS?

Noah Gragson qualified 36th for Sunday's Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in what will be just his fourth Cup start at the famed track. While his three previous Cup starts here have been largely disappointing, averaging 23.7 for his finishing position, his Xfinity results are much more impressive. In his eight Xfinity starts, the Stewart-Haas […]

Will Ty Gibbs Break Out Of His Slump At Talladega?

Ty Gibbs will start P15 in Sunday's Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Since starting out the season with an impressive five top-10 finishes in the first six races, Gibbs has finished 13th or worse over the last three weeks. Since we know a driver the caliber of Gibbs won't stay down long, it is generally […]

Is Austin Dillon A Must Play On Superspeedways?

On Saturday afternoon, Austin Dillon qualified fifth for the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Because of his two Cup wins and his nine top 10 finishes at Daytona, Dillon has earned a reputation for being a solid restrictor plate racer. Despite his impressive performances at The World Center of Racing, he has not had the […]

Bubba Wallace Finishes Seventh At Texas Motor Speedway

Bubba Wallace finished seventh in Sunday's Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. While Sunday's results did not come close to matching the performance he put up a year ago at this track when he led 111 laps, it was still a solid afternoon for the eight-year Cup veteran. Between his finish, earning […]

Kyle Busch Earns Top 10 Finish In Backup Car At Texas Motor Speedway

After suffering significant damage during Saturday's practice session, Kyle Busch was forced to go to a backup car for the Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite being in a backup vehicle and having to start 35th, Busch worked his way through the field up to a ninth-place finish. While not the […]

Should You Roster Martin Truex Jr. In DFS This Weekend At Texas Motor Speedway?

Martin Truex Jr. will start ninth in Sunday's Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Truex, who won the regular season championship in 2023, is quietly having another monster year in 2024. Although he has yet to find the winner's circle, he does have five top-10s and is averaging a series-high 55.57 DraftKings […]

Is John Hunter Nemechek A Core Play In DFS This Weekend?

After a disappointing outing at Martinsville last weekend, John Hunter Nemechek will look to turn things around when he starts 30th in Sunday's Auto Trader EchoPark 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Heading into this weekend's race, the No. 42 looks like a driver that we will want to have plenty of exposure to when building […]

Will Joey Logano's Momentum Continue This Weekend At Texas?

On Saturday afternoon, Joey Logano qualified 20th for the Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. After starting with four finishes of 28th or worse in the first five races of the season, Logano has finished in the top 11 three consecutive weeks, signaling a drastic turnaround from where he was just a […]

Daniel Hemric Struggles To Find Speed In Practice At Texas Motor Speedway

Daniel Hemric will start 38th in the Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Hemric's lackluster qualifying results come as no surprise as he posted the second slowest speed in Saturday's practice session (29.296), indicating that this team is still struggling to find the speed needed to be competitive. While practice and qualifying […]

How Much Exposure Should You Have To Ross Chastain This Weekend In DFS?

On Saturday afternoon, Ross Chastain qualified 12th for the Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite not having a win in 2024, Chastain is off to a solid start this season, as he has four top-10 finishes and currently sits eighth in the playoff standings. Although The Watermelon Man looks poised to […]

Is William Byron A Core Play In DFS This Weekend?

Fresh off his third victory of the season, William Byron qualified sixth for Sunday's Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Based on Byron's success in the first eight races of the season, he has to be considered among the top drivers in DFS each week. When you combine his hot start to […]

Alex Bowman Will Start P14 At Texas Motor Speedway

Alex Bowman will start 14th in the Auto Trader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Last Sunday at Martinsville was a monster weekend for Hendrick Motorsports as all four of the team's cars finished in the top eight. While a weekend like this should give a driver tremendous confidence, don't expect last week's momentum […]

Bubba Wallace Earns His First Top-Five Finish At Martinsville Speedway

On Sunday afternoon, Bubba Wallace finished fourth in the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Sunday's race was a big day for the 23XI star as it was his first top-five finish at the famed "Paperclip." Interestingly, although he started on the front row and spent 99.3% of the race in the top 15, Wallace […]

Chase Elliott Finishes Third At Martinsville

On Sunday afternoon, Chase Elliott finished third in the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Sunday's race was a big day for Hendrick Motorsports as the company claimed the top three finishing positions, the first for any team at Martinsville. For the 22.74% that rostered him on DraftKings, Elliott came through in a big way […]

Bubba Wallace Will Start On The Front Row In Sunday's Race At Martinsville

On Saturday evening, Bubba Wallace qualified second for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Despite not really being known as a short-track racer, Wallace has been solid at this track since the launch of the Next Gen Car in 2022. Over the four races in this car at this venue, the eight-year Cup veteran […]

Should You Play Ryan Preece In DFS This Weekend?

On Saturday evening, Ryan Preece qualified 22nd for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Despite posting the third fastest time in practice (20.088) and scoring 59 DraftKings points in this race last season, don't get too excited about the seven-year Cup veteran this weekend at "The Paperclip." Because he started on the pole in […]

Is Erik Jones A Value Play In DFS This Weekend At Martinsville?

Erik Jones will start P17 in Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. After starting 27th in last weekend's race at Richmond, Jones finished 14th and earned 42 DraftKings points, exceeding value on his $6,600 salary for the 13.94% that rostered him. Heading into this weekend, things appear to be setting up somewhat similarly for […]

Justin Haley Will Start P27 At Martinsville Speedway

On Saturday evening, Justin Haley qualified 27th for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Saturday's disappointing qualifying effort, which was preceded by an underwhelming practice session where he posted the fifth slowest speed (20.402), has become a theme for the 24-year-old this year. In the seven races this season, Haley has just one start […]

How Much Exposure Should You Have To Noah Gragson This Weekend At Martinsville?

Noah Gragson will start 26th in Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. To say that 2024 has been a wild and inconsistent season for the Stewart-Haas Racing star would be an understatement. In the seven races this season, Gragson has four top-12 finishes and three finishes of 34th or worse. Because he is such […]

Is Todd Gilliland A Driver To Target This Weekend At Martinsville?

After posting the seventh fastest practice time (20.141), Todd Gilliland improved slightly during qualifying by posting a time of 19.921, which was fast enough to earn the 16th starting position for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Entering this weekend, Gilliland has just one top-20 finish this season and currently sits 26th in the […]

Will Ty Gibbs Continue His Breakout This Weekend At Martinsville?

On Sunday afternoon, Ty Gibbs will start 15th in the Cook Out 400, in what will be just his fourth Cup start at Martinsville Speedway. In his three previous Cup starts at "The Paperclip" the second-generation driver has struggled, averaging 18.3 for his finishes and a -5 in place differential. While you never want to […]

Is William Byron Mispriced On DraftKings For This Weekend’s Race At Martinsville?

William Byron, fresh off a seventh-place finish at Richmond Raceway, will start 18th in Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Byron, who is in his seventh season in the Cup Series, is off to a hot start in 2024. Not only does he have two wins and four top-10 finishes, but he currently sits […]

Will Josh Berry’s Success On Short Tracks Continue This Weekend At Martinsville?

On Saturday evening, Josh Berry qualified seventh for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Despite having struggled throughout most of his first full season in the Cup Series, Berry has done well on the two short tracks NASCAR has raced on this season, finishing 12th at Bristol and 11th at Richmond. While some may […]

Tyler Reddick Finished 10th In Toyota Owners 400 At Richmond Raceway

On Sunday night, Tyler Reddick finished 10th in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. In a race sponsored by his team's manufacturer, Reddick did the brand proud by running a consistent, clean race throughout the event's 407 laps. From a DFS side, the 23XI star earned 45.25 DraftKings points, which made for a solid […]

William Byron Secures Fourth Top-10 Finish Of 2024 At Richmond Raceway

William Byron finished seventh in Sunday's Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. While Sunday did mark Byron's fourth top-10 finish of the season, the race was rather uneventful for the Hendrick Motorsports star. After starting 13th, Byron spent 80.8% of the race in the top 15, ultimately ending the day +6 in place differential. Although […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Daniel Suarez In DFS This Weekend

Daniel Suarez will start 20th in Sunday's Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Despite Chevrolet earning the top four starting positions for Sunday's race, Suarez struggled to find the same speed that his fellow bowties did, which isn't really surprising given his history at this track. In his four starts in the Next Gen car […]

Is Ricky Stenhouse Jr. A Sneaky Play This Weekend In DFS?

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start 24th in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. After winning the Daytona 500 and tying a career-high nine top 10 finishes in 2023, there was some optimism surrounding the 14-year Cup veteran entering the season. While nobody was expecting him to be a threat to contend for the Cup […]

Should You Roster Ryan Preece in DFS This Weekend?

Ryan Preece will start 16th in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Despite only posting the 13th fastest speed in practice (119.58 mph) Preece is still one of the top value options on this weekend's slate. In his two starts at Richmond in 2023, the Stewart-Haas Racing star improved his position by an average […]
