2026 Fantasy Football NFL Rookie News and Outlooks

Mike Washington Jr., RB, Arkansas

Arkansas running back Mike Washington Jr. reportedly had a standout week at the 2026 Senior Bowl, and the physical ball carrier could sneak his way into the top five of the upcoming rookie class. Washington spent three years at Buffalo before one season at New Mexico State and one season at Arkansas. In his lone season in the SEC last year, he set career highs in carries (167), rushing yards (1,070), rushing touchdowns (eight), receptions (28), and receiving yards (226).

Overall, he tallied 660 touches for 3,384 yards and 29 touchdowns in 51 games across five collegiate seasons. Washington has impressive speed and pass-catching chops at 220-plus pounds, making him an appealing addition to an NFL backfield. If he can continue to perform well during the pre-draft process, he could fetch high enough draft capital to set himself up to be a Day-1 contributor as a pro.

Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State

Former Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton (foot) suffered a broken foot during Thursday's Senior Bowl practice, according to Rich Scarcella of The Reading Eagle. Singleton broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot and will have surgery early next week in Alabama.

He's expected to attend the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis from Feb. 23 to March 2, but he won't be able to participate in on-field activities now. Injuries have been an issue for Singleton over the last year, as he also had surgery on his thumb last January to fix a torn ligament. It's unclear if his foot injury will change anything, but Singleton has been projected as one of the top-five RBs available in the 2026 NFL Draft. He is Penn State's all-time leader in all-purpose yards (5,586) and total touchdowns (55), and he ranks fourth with 3,461 career rushing yards.

Roman Hemby, RB, Indiana

Indiana running back Roman Hemby was likely considered an undrafted free agent NFL prospect following four years at Maryland, but his performance in his final season with the College Football Playoff National Champion Indiana Hoosiers could propel him into being a Day 3 pick in April's 2026 NFL Draft.

After compiling 3,268 total yards and 27 touchdowns in 42 games with the Terps, Hemby led the Indiana running backs in attempts (230), rushing yards (1,120), receptions (17), and receiving yards (165). While Fernando Mendoza and the passing attack rightfully got a ton of shine, Hemby was an unsung hero of the offense and ran hard throughout the College Football Playoff. Hemby is an explosive runner with good vision, but his lack of size will likely keep him in a complementary back role in the NFL.

Justin Joly, TE, NC State

NC State tight end Justin Joly has been one of the most productive players at the position over the last three college football seasons. The 21-year-old New York native began his career at UConn before spending his junior and senior seasons with the Wolfpack, hauling in 92 receptions for 1,150 yards and 11 touchdowns. He enjoyed great success at NC State, but his breakout campaign came as a sophomore with the Huskies in 2023, when he tallied 56 catches for 578 yards and two scores.

The 2025 first-team All-ACC selection is viewed as one of the top five tight ends in the 2026 NFL Draft class, and he's currently projected to be a third-round selection in April. Joly thrives running intermediate and deep routes, making him a strong TE2 and second tight end in 12-personnel at the next level. His landing spot will determine his upside and placement in dynasty rookie drafts as part of a shallow incoming rookie tight end class.

Jam Miller, RB, Alabama

Alabama running back Jam Miller finished his Alabama career with 349 rushes for 1,596 yards and 13 touchdowns in 51 games. He also recorded 40 receptions for 336 yards and two scores. The talented ball carrier never fully broke out during his time in Tuscaloosa, failing to reach 700 rushing yards in a single season.

However, the 2026 NFL Draft running back class is not viewed as strong or particularly deep, so he should hear his name called in April. He projects as a sixth-round pick early in the process, meaning he won't be guaranteed a roster spot, much less a major role in an NFL offense in Year 1. That said, if he impresses at the NFL Combine, he could see his stock rise. As of now, he's a solid flier in the third or fourth round of single-QB dynasty fantasy football rookie drafts.
