Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

The Case For Denny Hamlin In Both DFS And Sports Betting

Denny Hamlin, who currently sits first in the NASCAR playoff standings, will start 25th in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350. In his two starts in the NextGen car at this track, Hamlin has been disastrous as he is averaging 33.5 for his finish, -28 in place differential, and -12.33 in DraftKings points. Although these results are […]

Does His 2022 Victory At Sonoma Make Daniel Suarez A Must Play In DFS This Weekend?

Trackhouse Racing star Daniel Suarez will start seventh in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. In the 2022 race at this track, Suarez earned his first-ever Cup Series victory, a moment that was truly special to see unfold. However, while sentiment and recency bias may be with the Monterrey, Mexico native this weekend, history […]

Should You Roster Ricky Stenhouse Jr. In DFS This Weekend At Sonoma?

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start from P33 in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Always the wild card, Ricky Stenhouse is an unpredictable driver who often finds his way into the DraftKings optimal lineup when you least expect it. With this said, one style of track that he has not been able to surprise […]

Joey Logano Will Start On The Pole At Sonoma

Joey Logano will start on the pole in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Aside from starting on the front row, which has produced 10 of the 34 winners at this track, there is a lot to be excited about when it comes to Logano this weekend. Not only does he have two top-five […]

Is Todd Gilliland Too Expensive To Roster On DraftKings?

On Saturday afternoon, Todd Gilliland qualified 14th for Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Despite only having one top-10 in 2024, his 101 lead laps and average finish of 22.5 are both career-best for the three-year Cup veteran, results that are a testament to the growth this young driver continues to show. With that […]

Why You Should Fade Austin Dillon In DFS At Sonoma

Austin Dillon, fresh off his second top-10 finish of the season, will start 16th in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. While momentum is certainly a thing in NASCAR, do not expect last weekend's results to carry over to this Sunday's race at Sonoma. Despite having nine Cup starts in wine country, the 34-year-old […]

Ryan Blaney’s Practice Speed Makes Him A Value Play At Sonoma

Ryan Blaney has qualified third for Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. On Friday, the reigning Cup Series champion kicked off the weekend by posting the fastest time in practice (73.202), clocking in at a speed of 97.866. While certainly an impressive speed, Blaney was actually just one of 16 drivers to exceed 97 […]

What To Do With Christopher Bell At Sonoma?

Christopher Bell will start 15th in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. In his three Cup starts at this track, Bell has just one top-10, an overall average finish of 20th, and an average DraftKings score of 22.95. While this data may suggest that you should fade the 29-year-old this weekend, he is actually […]

Kyle Larson Finishes 10th In The Enjoy Illinois 300

On Sunday afternoon, Kyle Larson finished 10th in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. Because of last week's chaotic weather situation, and given that he crashed out at Darlington, Sunday was Larson's first full, points-paying race since his victory at Kansas back on May 5th. Even with missing last week's race at […]

Brad Keselowski's DFS Streak Continues With Third-Place Finish

Brad Keselowski finished third in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 from World Wide Technology Raceway. Sunday's race marked Keselowski's fifth top-three finish over the last seven weeks and his seventh this season. It also marked his fourth consecutive appearance in the DraftKings optimal lineup (in points-paying races) and his sixth of 2024, which is the most […]

Should You Roster Zane Smith In DFS This Weekend?

Zane Smith will start 36th in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. Heading into this weekend's race, there is a lot to like about the Spire Motorsports rookie. Not only did he finish +15 in place differential in his only Cup start here back in 2022, but he also has three top-10 […]

Is John Hunter Nemechek A Value Play In DFS This Weekend?

John Hunter Nemechek will start 33rd in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. While Sunday will mark his first Cup start at the track formerly known as Gateway, he does have experience at this venue. In his seven truck starts here, the second-generation racer has a win (2017), two top-fives, and an […]

Erik Jones Will Start From P22 In Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300

After finishing with the second-slowest time during Saturday's practice (33.344), Erik Jones showed slight improvement by qualifying 22nd for Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. Saturday's performances come as no surprise as 2024 has been a challenging season for the nine-year Cup veteran, who currently sits 26th in the NASCAR playoff standings. […]

How Will The Decision To Close Stewart-Haas Racing Impact Noah Gragson In DFS?

Noah Gragson will start P27 in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. Generally speaking, qualifying order is usually one of the bigger talking points that a driver has to deal with entering a race day. This weekend, however, there is a much larger issue looming over Noah Gragson and his Stewart-Haas stablemates, […]

Is Kyle Busch A Core Play In DFS This Weekend?

On Saturday morning, Kyle Busch qualified 10th for the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. When it was first announced that Busch would be making the move to Richard Childress Racing in 2023, there was a lot of optimism and excitement about what this pairing would accomplish together. After winning three races in […]

What To Do With Alex Bowman This Weekend In DFS?

Alex Bowman will start 14th in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. After missing the playoffs in 2023, Bowman looks well on his way to a postseason berth in 2024, as he currently has nine top-10 finishes (tied for the most in the series) and sits eighth in the NASCAR standings. Despite […]

Chase Elliott Finishes Seventh In Rain-Shortened Coca-Cola 600

On Sunday night, Chase Elliott finished seventh in the rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Sunday's race marked the sixth top-10 finish in the last eight races for the second-generation Cup star, which ties him for the most over this span in the Cup Series. While we will never know what could have been […]

Alex Bowman Earns Ninth Top-10 Finish Of 2024 At Charlotte Motor Speedway

Alex Bowman finished ninth in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Overall, Sunday was a solid outing for the Hendrick Motorsports star as he recorded seven fastest laps, spent 96% of the race in the top 15, and earned his ninth top-10 finish of the season. Unfortunately for the 14.28% that rostered him on […]

Bubba Wallace Will Start 12th In The Coca-Cola 600

Bubba Wallace will start from the 12th spot in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In practice on Saturday afternoon, Wallace produced the third-best practice time, clocking in at 29.990 for his fastest lap. Although he actually improved his time during his qualifying session (29.861), he fell just short of William Byron (29.813), who […]

Why Tyler Reddick Is Not A Core Play This Weekend At Charlotte

On Saturday afternoon, Tyler Reddick qualified eighth for Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. With a win, seven top-10 finishes, and an average DraftKings score of 39.75 in the 13 non-exhibition races this season, Reddick has become one of the most consistent, reliable drivers in all of NASCAR. While this type of production makes […]

What Should You Do With Joey Logano This Weekend At Charlotte Motor Speedway?

Joey Logano, fresh off of winning the 2024 All-Star race, will start 28th in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. While last weekend's race made no impact on the playoff standings, winning a premium exhibition by leading all but one lap was just the type of outing this team needed. The question now becomes, […]

Is Carson Hocevar A Value Play At Charlotte?

Carson Hocevar will start 20th in what will be his Cup Series debut on the intermediate configuration at Charlotte Motor Speedway. As was to be expected, 2024 has been a struggle for the Spire Motorsports rookie. In his 13 non-exhibition starts this season, the 21-year-old has just one top-10, is averaging 21.6 for his finish […]

Ty Gibbs Will Start On The Pole In Sunday's Coca-Cola 600

North Carolina native Ty Gibbs will make his first Cup Series pole start in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In his first Cup start at his home track in 2023, Gibbs was dreadful, finishing 26th after starting 19th, which earned him just 9.9 DraftKings points for his effort. However, and as has been […]

Is Chase Elliott A Core Play In Sunday's Coca-Cola 600?

After winning the Xfinity Series race on Saturday afternoon, Chase Elliott went on to qualify fifth for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. With five top-five finishes over the last seven races, and as one of the favorites to win the Cup championship in 2024, there is a lot to be excited about when […]

Why Alex Bowman May Be The Best Contrarian Play In The Coca-Cola 600

Alex Bowman, who currently sits ninth in the NASCAR playoff standings, will start sixth in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Entering this weekend, Bowman has been on a bit of a hot streak as he has four consecutive top-10 finishes and eight total for the season. Despite not having a win since 2022, […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Christopher Bell At Charlotte Motor Speedway

Christopher Bell will start third in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. With just one top-10 finish in the last six races, the Joe Gibbs Racing star is in desperate need of a big weekend to help get his season back on track. While his win at Phoenix did secure him a playoff berth, […]

Bubba Wallace Exceeds Value In DFS At North Wilkesboro

After finishing second in the All-Star Open, Bubba Wallace advanced to the main event of All-Star weekend, where he finished in sixth place. While the 2024 All-Star race will largely be remembered for Joey Logano leading 199 of 200 laps, Wallace's efforts should not be ignored. After starting 19th, the 23XI star finished with a […]

Chase Elliott Finishes Eighth In All-Star Race

After starting 15th, Chase Elliott finished eighth in Sunday's All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Overall, it was an uneventful race for the second-generation Cup driver as Joey Logano dominated the race from start to finish. Despite it being a lackluster day for most drivers, Elliott did manage to score 43.90 points for the 31.58% […]

What To Do With Tyler Reddick At North Wilkesboro?

Tyler Reddick will start sixth in Sunday's All-Star Race from North Wilkesboro Speedway. After leading 174 laps last weekend, Reddick looked to be in position to bring home the checkered flag until a late race mistake cost both him and Chris Buescher a shot at victory. Despite taking full responsibility for the incident, a target […]

Joey Logano Will Start On The Pole In The 2024 NASCAR All-Star Race

Joey Logano will start on the pole in Sunday's All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Logano, a former All-Star Race winner (2016), finds himself in an unusual spot heading into the weekend as he sits 17th in the standings, which places him on the wrong side of the cutoff line for the NASCAR playoffs. While […]
