Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Despite Penalties, Justin Haley Earns Best Career Finish At Nashville

Justin Haley finished 13th in Sunday's Ally 400 from Nashville Superspeedway, marking his best finish at the track in his Cup career. Despite the strong showing, the weekend started off rough for the 24-year-old. After initially passing inspection, NASCAR announced that Haley's team made an unapproved adjustment that resulted in the No. 51 being forced […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Tyler Reddick In DFS This Weekend At Nashville

On Saturday afternoon, Tyler Reddick qualified sixth for the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. With four top-10 finishes in the last five races, Reddick is on a bit of a hot streak heading into Sunday's race. With that said, while he is certainly beginning to look like a true title contender in 2024, he is […]

Is Todd Gilliland A Value Play In DFS This Weekend At Nashville?

After posting the fifth best practice time (30.319), Todd Gilliland ended up only qualifying 32nd for Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Despite the loss of speed between practice and qualifying, and even though he has an average finish of 29.5 in his two Cup starts here, do not be too quick to dismiss the […]

Why You Should Fade Austin Cindric In DFS This Weekend

Austin Cindric will start 10th in Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Despite finishing seventh at this track back in 2022, there is little to like about Cindric heading into this race. Not only did he follow up the 2022 performance by finishing 27th here last year, but he has had just two top-10s this […]

Why You Should Have Exposure To William Byron In DFS This Weekend

On Saturday afternoon, William Byron qualified seventh for Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Heading into this weekend's race, there is a lot to like about William Byron. Not only does he have three wins and 10 top-10s this season, but he has been solid at this track in particular as he has earned two […]

Is Kyle Busch A Value Play In DFS This Weekend At Nashville?

Kyle Busch will start from 27th in Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. With three DNFs in the last four races, and given that he currently sits outside the NASCAR playoffs, the future Hall of Famer is in desperate need of a big performance in Music City on Sunday afternoon. While it is hard to […]

What Should You Do With Chris Buescher At Nashville?

Chris Buescher will start ninth in Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. To put it kindly, Buescher has struggled at this track. Despite having an average starting position of 14.7 in the three Cup races here, his average finish is 28th. While it should be noted that he did wreck out in one of these […]

Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Alex Bowman In DFS This Weekend At Nashville

On Saturday afternoon, Alex Bowman qualified 12th for the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. After mechanical issues caused him to finish 36th in last week's race at New Hampshire, Bowman is looking for a bounce-back performance in the Volunteer State. Given that he does have 10 top-10 finishes this year, which ties him with William […]

Ricky Stenhouse Finishes Seventh In The USA Today 301

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished seventh in the USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. In what was a long, rain-filled afternoon in Loudon, Stenhouse showed tremendous patience and grit to earn his second top-10 finish in as many weeks. Prior to last week's finish at Iowa, the 14-year Cup veteran had not finished better […]

Chase Briscoe Finishes Runner-Up At New Hampshire

Chase Briscoe finished second in the USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, his best finish of the season. With an average finish of 13.5, and with two top-10s in his last two starts at Loudon, Briscoe is quickly becoming one of the best drivers at the Magic Mile. Because of this, heading into […]

Josh Berry Finishes Third At New Hampshire

In what was a long afternoon in The Granite State, Josh Berry persevered to finish third in Sunday's USA Today 301. Sunday's finish marked Berry's second top-five finish of the season and his fourth top-10 over the last six races. Despite his recent hot streak and despite having earned a reputation as a strong flat-banked […]

Ryan Preece Will Start 31st At His Home Track, New Hampshire Motor Speedway

On Saturday afternoon, Ryan Preece qualified 31st for Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Despite this being considered a home track for the Connecticut native, Preece has struggled here in his Cup career. With an average finish of 23.8 in five Cup starts, and with an average DraftKings score of just seven […]

Rookie Carson Hocevar Finishes With The Top Speed In Saturday's Practice At Loudon

Spire Motorsports rookie Carson Hocevar will start 20th in Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Because New Hampshire is a flat-banked track, handling and patience are essential to having success at this venue, a set of skills that a driver typically develops from experience. Given that this will be Hocevar's first start […]

Austin Cindric's Inconsistencies Make Him A Risky Play At New Hampshire

Austin Cindric will start from P29 in Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. In his two previous Cup starts at this track, Cindric has been decent, though not outstanding. In the 2022 race, the Team Penske star looked fantastic as he finished 13th despite starting 28th, earning 45.9 DraftKings points for his […]

Why You Should Target Kyle Busch In DFS This Weekend

Kyle Busch, fresh off a disappointing trip to Iowa, will look to bounce back on Sunday when he starts 30th in the USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Heading into the weekend, Kyle Busch is perhaps the most challenging driver to project as there are two different narratives for the future Hall-of-Famer at […]

Should You Roster Chris Buescher In DFS At New Hampshire?

Chris Buescher has qualified 15th for Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Despite being one of the more consistent drivers over the last two seasons, one who looks well on his way to taking the next step in what has already been a solid career, the RFK Racing star has struggled in […]

Why Chase Briscoe Is A Top Value Play At Loudon

On Saturday afternoon, Chase Briscoe qualified 23rd for Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Heading into this weekend, Briscoe is one of the more intriguing plays from a DFS perspective, as there is a lot to like about the young driver. While his experience at this track is limited compared to others […]

What To Do With Alex Bowman This Weekend At New Hampshire?

After finishing ninth in Saturday's Xfinity race, Alex Bowman will look to build off this momentum when he starts fifth in Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Despite having 10 top-10 finishes this season, including last week at Iowa, Bowman is still looking for his first victory since 2022. Considering how consistent […]

Joey Logano Finishes Sixth In The Iowa Corn 350

Joey Logano finished sixth in the inaugural Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Overall, Sunday was a solid but uneventful race for the former two-time Cup champion, something that has been a trend for him this season. While he did move up five spots in the field, he did not lead a single lap and […]

William Byron Exceeds Value In DFS At Iowa

William Byron finished second in the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Despite spending 96.3% of the race in the top 15, and even though he recorded 23 fastest laps, Byron did not lead a single lap in the contest, nor did he look like a threat to Ryan Blaney in the race's closing laps. […]

Why You Should Fade Daniel Suarez In DFS This Weekend At Iowa

Daniel Suarez will start 13th in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 from Iowa Speedway. Entering the weekend, Suarez is a bit of a wild card, as there are some things to like and some things to dislike about him at this track. For starters, while this will be the inaugural Cup Series race in Newton, Iowa, […]

Should You Roster Corey Lajoie In DFS This Weekend?

Corey Lajoie will start 24th in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Despite the fact he gets to start 24th, he was much slower than his qualifying position indicates as he benefited from qualifying with Group A rather than Group B. With a time of 24.130, Lajoie was slower than anyone in Group B, […]

Carson Hocevar Will Start 20th At Iowa Speedway

Carson Hocevar will start 20th in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. On Friday, Hocevar clocked in with the 21st best time during practice, coming in at a speed of 134.846. Although his speed in qualifying (131.048) was over three miles per hour slower than he showed in practice, it was on par with […]

Is Ricky Stenhouse Jr. A Value Play In DFS At Iowa?

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start from the 35th spot in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 from Iowa Speedway. With just two top-10 finishes and after finishing outside the top 20 in three of the last four races, it is safe to say that 2024 has been a challenge for the 14-year Cup veteran. When the most […]

What Should You Do With Noah Gragson In DFS This Weekend At Iowa?

Stewart-Haas Racing star Noah Gragson will start 23rd in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Rumors about who he will be driving for in 2025 aside, there are a lot of questions surrounding the 25-year-old heading into Sunday night's race. Specifically, will we see the Gragson that was the fastest in Friday's practice, the […]

Despite Disappointing Practice, Chris Buescher Still A Viable DFS Play At Iowa

On Saturday afternoon, Chris Buescher qualified 15th for the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Buescher, who is still looking for his first victory of 2024, struggled in Friday's practice as he posted the sixth slowest time (23.476) in what was a chaotic session for the Cup drivers. While the RFK Racing star was faster […]

The Case For Ryan Blaney At Iowa Speedway

Ryan Blaney will start on the front row in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Despite Sunday being the inaugural Cup race at the renowned short track, it is not the first time NASCAR has run a featured event here. Between 2009 and 2019, Iowa was a regular stop on both the Xfinity and […]

Tyler Reddick Earns 10th Top-10 Finish Of 2024 At Sonoma Raceway

On Sunday afternoon, Tyler Reddick finished eighth in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Overall, Sunday was a decent day for Reddick as he earned his 10th top-10 of the season, which is the most of any driver in the Cup Series. Unfortunately for the 23XI star, Sunday will also be looked back on […]

Despite Starting On The Pole, Joey Logano Finishes 21st At Sonoma

After starting on the pole, Joey Logano finished 21st in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Early in the race, Logano looked like he may contend for the victory as he led 16 laps and posted two fastest laps right out of the gate. However, despite how strong he initially looked, an incident in […]

Supercars Star Will Brown Finishes 31st In His NASCAR Debut

On Sunday, Supercars points leader Will Brown finished 31st in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Despite having his day ended prematurely due to electrical issues, the Australian native ran a solid race, working his way up to 11th place at one point in the afternoon. Given that he posted the third-best time in […]
