Should You Roster Chris Buescher In DFS At New Hampshire?
6 months agoChris Buescher has qualified 15th for Sunday's USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Despite being one of the more consistent drivers over the last two seasons, one who looks well on his way to taking the next step in what has already been a solid career, the RFK Racing star has struggled in Loudon. In 10 starts he has an average finish of 22.6, zero top-10s, and just four top-20s. To put this in perspective, both Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez, drivers that are cheaper than Buescher this weekend on DraftKings, each have multiple top-10s and six top-20s in two fewer starts at this track. What makes the 31-year-old's struggles even more puzzling is that he doesn't have any DNFs here, which means the lackluster finishes cannot be blamed on bad luck or mechanical issues. He just simply does not do well here. With this said, while the data is underwhelming at this venue, there are some things to like about the 10-year Cup veteran this weekend. Specifically, his five appearances in the DraftKings optimal lineup on flat-banked tracks in the Next Gen car is tied for the second most appearances of anyone in the Cup Series. Likewise, his three appearances in the optimal lineup in races using the aerodynamic package that will be used on Sunday are tied for the most in the Cup Series. Because of the success he has had on flat tracks and because of how well he has performed in this particular aerodynamic package, it is recommended that you move past his lackluster track history here and that you do have exposure to the No. 17 in DFS this weekend.
