Adam Koffler's PPR TE Fantasy Football Rankings and 2022 Players to Target, Avoid

Dallas Goedert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Adam Koffler provides his 2022 fantasy football PPR draft rankings for the tight end position and identifies his TEs to target and avoid at cost.

Hello RotoBallers, and welcome back to another edition of our 2022 fantasy football rankings! Below you will find Adam Koffler's 2022 PPR Tight End Rankings, updated as of 8/20/2022.

In this article, I'll highlight a handful of tight ends that I'm targeting and avoiding at a cost this season. Remember, these are full-PPR rankings, thus bumping up high-volume pass-catchers.

Below you'll find my tiered rankings for the tight end position. Check out my other positional rankings: QBs, RBs, WRs

Tight Ends I'm Targeting for Fantasy Football

Dallas Goedert, PHI (TE6) - Goedert is essentially Darren Waller, but three or four rounds cheaper in most 2022 fantasy drafts. Both are uber-talented tight ends with high-end receiving ability, and both share the field with two other good pass-catchers. Like Waller, if anything were to happen to DeVonta Smith or A.J. Brown, Goedert would all of a sudden jump up into the Mark Andrews-type conversation.

Goedert will play on virtually every snap and has a shot at 100 yards and a score in any game. Recall he averaged a career-high 14.82 yards per catch a season ago with Jalen Hurts throwing the football.

David Njoku, CLE (TE9) - Njoku signed a four-year, $54M extension with the Browns this offseason, Jacoby Brissett likes to target his tight ends, and there's not much competition for targets outside of Amari Cooper and Kareem Hunt.

Cooper, while a great receiver, has never commanded a target share higher than 22.3%. Njoku also had a 100% route rate with the first team offense in the Browns' first preseason game. He's going to play a lot and he could be the safety valve for Brissett early and often.

Others I'm Targeting: Kyle Pitts, Dalton Schultz, Evan Engram

Tight Ends I'm Avoiding for Fantasy Football

T.J. Hockenson, DET (TE12) - I'm very in on both D'Andre Swift and Amon-Ra St. Brown, so it only makes sense to be out on Hockenson this season. It's well known that rookie wide receivers take a couple of weeks to get up to speed, and that's what happened with St. Brown in 2021. And that's when Hockenson did most of his damage, the first two weeks of the season. He caught 16 balls for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 20 targets. ARSB only played on 40% of the snaps in those two games. Hockenson is squarely on my "do not draft" list in 2022.

Others I'm Avoiding: Noah Fant, Irv Smith Jr.
