Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers for Week 8: PATTY MILLS, Dwight Howard, Tyus Jones, Herb Jones

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Week 8 fantasy basketball streamers based on H2H 9-category leagues for the 2021-2022 NBA season. Keith Cork recommends guards, forwards, and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues who may help in specific categories.

We've been at this for about two months now, so you should have plenty of data about your opponents and where your team is falling short. If there are a few categories that you're struggling with or a few where you can get an edge on your current-week opponent, then look for a guy listed in both of those categories and go out and win this week!

The Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors all have just two games this week, so we'll fade those teams. The San Antonio Spurs have FIVE (!) games this week, while thirteen teams have four games this week. That means there should be no shortage of games to go around, no matter who you snag on this list!

Our staff at RotoBaller has great insight and daily columns on how to improve your squad and tips to make your team successful, so be sure to check them out. Now, let's get prepared for the upcoming week and go win your leagues. All players in this article are rostered at 50 percent or less.

Week 8 Standard 9-Category Leagues

Columns are written based on H2H 9-category standard size leagues:

FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE

Dwight Howard - C - Los Angeles Lakers (19% rostered)

Dwight Howard has started the last two games and has seen at least 20 minutes. If that trend holds, he will be worth rostering for teams in need of field goal percentage, blocks, and rebounds. He won't help you in the free-throw percentage category though, so be aware if that's one you're trying to win.

Other streamers:

FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Danny Green - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (23% rostered)

This is his second week topping this category, but Danny Green should be scooped up everywhere by teams in need of threes, points, and blocks from the guard position. He's a consistent low-end asset with low mid-round upside, and he has been for years. If he wasn't owned in all my leagues, I would be scooping him up.

Other streamers:

POINTS

Patty Mills - PG/SG - Brooklyn Nets (50% rostered)

Why haven't YOU picked up Patty Mills yet? I'd like to hear from you. He's locked into a 30+ minute role until Joe Harris comes back, and he's averaging 15.7 points per game over the last two weeks. He's going to get shots for the Brooklyn Nets and most nights he's going to hit them. Those shots will also be from the three-point line, so if that sounds like something you need then go get him now.

Other streamers:

  • Cedi Osman - SF/PF - Cleveland Cavaliers (10% rostered)
  • Patty Mills - PG/SG - Brooklyn Nets (47% rostered)
  • Jeff Green - SF/PF - Denver Nuggets (13% rostered)
  • Doug McDermott - SF/PF - San Antonio Spurs (8% rostered)
  • Malik Monk - PG/SG - Los Angeles Lakers (16% rostered)

THREE-POINTERS

Patty Mills - PG/SG - Brooklyn Nets (50% rostered)

I usually try not to have the same guy twice, but this deserves to be said: GO GET PATTY MILLS. He's averaging 3.8 three-pointers over the last two weeks, and needs to be rostered everywhere.

Other streamers:

  • Cedi Osman - SF/PF - Cleveland Cavaliers (10% rostered)
  • Garrison Mathews - SG/SF - Houston Rockets (31% rostered)
  • Armoni Brooks - PG - Houston Rockets (7% rostered)
  • Malik Beasley - PG/SG - Minnesota Timberwolves (26% rostered)
  • Otto Porter Jr. - SF/PF - Golden State Warriors (34% rostered)

REBOUNDS

Guillermo Hernangomez - C - New Orleans Pelicans (17% rostered)

A little caveat: Willy Hernangomez is a per-minute monster but he isn't getting a ton of minutes yet. Zion Williamson is also due back any day, which should cut into his upside considerably. Until then, Willy should match his 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game that he's been producing the last few weeks for the Pelicans, who suddenly look much better than the start of the season.

Other streamers:

ASSISTS

Tyus Jones - PG - Memphis Grizzlies (29% rostered)

Ja Morant is likely to miss another game or two with his knee sprain which gives Tyus Jones some more streaming appeal for a bit. He is averaging 5.6 assists over the last two weeks and the Grizzlies have been playing good basketball without their young star.

Other streamers:

  • Killian Hayes - PG/SG - Detroit Pistons (12% rostered)
  • Monte Morris - PG/SG - Denver Nuggets (46% rostered)
  • Alperen Sengun - C - Houston Rockets (40% rostered)
  • Cory Joseph - PG - Detroit Pistons (2% rostered)
  • Cody Martin - SG/SF - Charlotte Hornets (17% rostered)

STEALS

Herbert Jones - SF - New Orleans Pelicans (16% rostered)

Kudos to the Pelicans for turning their season around even before Zion Williamson has come back from his injury. A big part of that has been some lineup changes, including playing Herb Jones some meaningful minutes. He's awarded the Pels by producing defensive stats in bunches. He's putting up 2.1 steals and 0.7 blocks per game over the last two weeks, and seems to have solidified his role in the lineup.

Other streamers:

BLOCKS

Chimezie Metu - PF - Sacramento Kings (15% rostered)

Get it while you can. While Harrison Barnes has been out, Chimezie Metu has had an increased role in the rotation. That all will come to an end at some point in the near future, but until then he should keep trucking along putting up boards and blocks. He's averaging 1.4 blocks per game over the last two weeks for the Sacramento Kings.

Other streamers:

  • Royce O'Neale - SG/SF/PF - Utah Jazz (49% rostered)
  • Jeff Green - SF/PF - Denver Nuggets (13% rostered)
  • Grant Williams - SF/PF - Boston Celtics (8% rostered)
  • Nerlens Noel - PF/C- New York Knicks (43% rostered)
  • Isaiah Hartenstein - PF/C - Los Angeles Clippers (10% rostered)
