Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers - Week 9

Week 9 fantasy basketball streamers based on H2H 9-category leagues for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Dale Johnson recommends guards, forwards and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues who may help in specific categories.

The Raptors are starting the figure it out. The Cavaliers and Rockets are slipping again. The Knicks and Hornets are playoff contenders. The Jazz are the best team in the league. Just when the league is starting to make sense again, there are still things you may never predict.

Thursday has been a staple day for streaming this season and week 9 is no different. Only six teams play on Thursday this week and is the prime streaming day with a ton of starting spots open on your roster. The Nets and Heat have a great start to the week with both teams having three games from Monday to Thursday. On the flip side, Milwaukee, Sacramento and Toronto all play three times from Thursday to Sunday which would give you an opportunity to finish the week strong. Let's hit some players featured on these teams and many others who are viable streaming options this week.

Week 9 Standard 9-Category Leagues

FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE

Jeff Green - SF/PF/C - Brooklyn Nets (25% rostered)

Green has been a bit of a swiss-army knife for the Nets after trading away Jarrett Allen. Green plays a bit of every role including small-ball center and just broke out of a slump. Green was shooting just 32.7 percent from the field over five games before shooting 83.3 percent on Saturday. Despite his recent slump, Green is shooting 50.5 percent from the field and has a solid start to week 9. DeAndre Jordan (personal) did sit out Saturday due to personal reasons and, if he sits again, Green would see closer to 30+ minutes.

FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Marcus Morris - PF/C - Los Angeles Clippers (19% rostered)

Despite Paul George (foot) being sidelined, Morris has stayed in a reserve role, but that has actually helped is fantasy value. Morris is averaging 14.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 three-pointers and has made his last seven free-throw attempts in the four games without George. The Clippers have four games this week and George is back in Los Angeles rehabbing which would leave Morris to continue his current run.

I really thought De'Anthony Melton (shoulder) would be in this position but a sprained shoulder had other ideas. Insert Allen who has been pretty great since returning from his stint with COVID-19. Allen has increased his point total each game over the past four games and had 23 points and six three-pointers Friday against the reigning champion Los Angeles Lakers. Allen is benefiting from absences of both Melton and Desmond Bane (personal) so his recent surge may be short-lived, but Allen is the one to stream while both are out and a four-game slate ahead of us.

With Jrue Holiday (health and safety protocols) still sidelined by the league's protocols, Forbes has been starting and knocking down triples. Forbes has sank a three-pointer in 11 straight games has hit multiple threes in three of his past four games. The Bucks have a strong finish to week 9, but keep in mind Forbes also does not contribute much, if anything, outside of threes.

REBOUNDS

Kenrich Williams - SF/PF - Oklahoma City Thunder (8% rostered)

Williams has benefited from the Thunder's absences between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (knee) and Theo Maledon (health and safety protocols). williams has played at least 30 minutes in five straight games and over that stretch, is averaging 7.6 rebounds per game. Williams even flirted with a triple-double in Friday's outing and has a steal in five straight games as well. Gilgeous-Alexander and Maledon still remain out and Williams would be a good short-term stream until they are cleared to return.

Despite Patrick Beverley (knee) returning to the starting lineup, the Clippers have decided to keep Jackson alongside Beverley, at least while Paul George (foot) is out. Jackson has at least four assists in four straight games and at least three assists in 10 straight. The Clippers play four times this week and Jackson would be decent assists streamer given how scarce assists are on the wire.

Kendrick Nunn - PG/SG - Miami Heat (42% rostered)

Nunn has been a roster-worthy player for the past few games now with the Heat missing Goran Dragic (ankle), but has recently been more active on the defensive end. Nunn has eight combined steals over his past three games, bringing his average to 1.2 swipes per game on the season. The Heat have four games this week and a great start to the week with three games from Monday to Thursday. Dragic does not appear close to returning so feel free to run with Nunn in the short-term and see where it goes.

Gafford has been a bit of a disappointment despite starting for the injured Wendell Carter Jr. (quad). Gafford has an average of just 5.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 11 starts on the season, but has an average of 1.3 blocks as a starter. Gafford also has a block in six straight games, including three multi-block games over that span despite limited minutes. Gafford will not wow you in any other categories and hasn't seen 20 minutes since February 1st, but he's been a consistent block contributor. With the Bulls entering a four-game week. Gafford could net you a few extra blocks and push your match up in your favor.

Kuzma has recently made a jump, helped by Anthony Davis (Achilles) being hampered by an injury. Davis is back, but Kuzma is averaging 13.6 points on 47.3 percent shooting, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers and just 0.6 turnovers per game over his past eight games. The Lakers have three games this week, but play on good streaming days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
