DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/14/20): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/14/20. Nicklaus Gaut's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

So, this is a weird Monday slate, with multiple double-headers being played (and ignored by DraftKings). We only seven games on the main slate and lock comes early at 4:10 ET.

Weird or not, there still some fun on the slate, although tricky. A lot of the best bats are the highest-priced and you definitely need to step carefully through most of the pitching. But with just a few weeks left in the season, we have to cherish every last slate. Especially ones that have Jorge Lopez pitching at Camden Yards.

In this article, I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the DraftKings main slate on 9/14/2020. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel and other sports as well.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Trevor Bauer - P, CIN vs. PIT ($10,800)

It's going to be really hard to escape the chalk of Bauer, given the matchup with one of baseball's worst teams. Even with the hefty price-tag, I still have him as one of the slate's best values, in terms of Pts/$, as the Pirates give up big DFS scores to pitchers like Matt Boyd gives up home runs to everyone. The Pirates have a .262 wOBA and 61 wRC+ against RHP that are both the worst in baseball, while Bauer comes in with a 1.74 ERA and 36% K%.

Jesus Luzardo - P, OAK vs. SEA ($8300)

Like the Pirates are against RHP, as are the Mariners versus LHP, posting a .264 wOBA, .142 ISO, and 67 wRC+ against them, with a 25.4% K%. Luzardo is coming off of one of his best starts of the year, striking out seven in seven innings versus the Astros, scoring 22.7 points in a no-decision. If he can avoid getting donged up by Kyle Seager and Dylan Moore, Luzardo should get your afternoon started off right.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Travis d'Arnaud - C, ATL at BAL ($4,700)

Technically, anyone facing Jorge Lopez is usually in a good spot but d'Arnaud might in a better on than most, given the mini-heater he's been on. The Braves catcher eight hits in his past five games, with one home run and six RBI, averaging 11 pts/G over that span. d'Arnaud has a 44% Hard% versus RHP since the start of last year, while Lopez has allowed a 35.7% hard-hit rate to RHB.

Freddie Freeman - 1B, ATL at BAL ($5,500)

It'll cost you but I'm starting any Braves stack with Freeman, who has scored 78 points in his last five games, hitting two home runs, with 10 RBI. Since the start of 2019, Freeman has a 50% Hard% and .430 wOBA versus RHP. Facing a subpar pitcher in a high school stadium, those numbers should only go up.

Ozzie Albies - 2B, ATL at BAL ($4,500)

We'll finish off this Braves stack with Albies, even though he, unfortunately, costs a lot more than the $3K that he was priced upon his initial return from the IL. In his five games since returning, Albies has eight hits and two home runs, scoring a total of 83 points. Like the rest of his teammates, Albies faces a junky right-hander at Baltimore's  "major league" ballpark.

Josh Donaldson - 3B, MIN at CHW ($4,100)

Donaldson hit his third home run in nine games last night and gives you a solid floor and high ceiling for an attractive price. His .355 wOBA and .211 ISO versus RHP is both well above-average, while his 15.2% BB% is elite. And while Dylan Cease may forever be always on the verge of breaking out (according to baseball Twitter) for now, he has a 5.95 FIP and 15.4% K%

Jose Iglesias - SS, BAL vs. ATL ($4,200)

There isn't a ton of value to be had at shortstop today but Iglesias is the best of the mid-range options, facing a homer-prone righty at a miniature ballpark. Iglesias has made a lot of hard-contact versus RHP, with an 81.7% contact-rate and 39.4% Hard%. Baltimore shouldn't have an issue scoring runs, as Touissant has a 7.89 ERA and 2.08 HR/9.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

DJ Stewart - OF, BAL vs. ATL ($2,400)

The Baltimore rookie continues to be a prime source of cheap production, especially with his splits versus RHP. In 48 PA this season, Stewart has .469 wOBA and .457 ISO vs. RHP, with a 45% Hard% and 50% FB%. He also has a 20% BB% against righties and is batting third in a matchup with Touki Toussaint, who is allowing 2.08 HR/9 and walking 16.9% of RHB.

Matt Joyce - OF, MIA at PHI ($2,000)

I'll happily play a minimum-priced Joyce batting cleanup against Vince Velasquez, the Human Gas Can (the lesser-known second-cousin of the Human Torch). Joyce has a .343 wOBA vs. RHP, as well as a 16.3% BB%. All those factors give him a very high floor for such a cheap price. Plus, Velasquez hasn't given up a home run for seven whole innings, so you know what that means...Someone light the Gas-Can signal.

Adam Duvall - OF, ATL at BAL ($4,500)

I lied when saying I was done with the Braves because if Duvall is ever going to complete the hat-trick of home-run hat-tricks, it's in Baltimore against Jorge Lopez, right? Even when Duvall isn't hitting three home runs, he continues to mash, hitting three home runs in his last eight games, not including his most recent triple-dong outburst. Duvall has a 55.7% FB% vs. RHP this season, with a .384 wOBA and .360 ISO, while opposing pitching Jorge Lopez remains Jorge Lopez.
