DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/3/20): NBA DFS Lineups

There are just six games on the main slate tonight so don't worry about saving up too much. You'll need to roster the top players regardless of price so feel free to leave a little extra in the bankroll if you need to. Look for the best matchups and when spending up, make sure you consider James Harden.

He's seen a significant price drop recently and that does not mean he has taken a break on this record breaking season. This is normal for just about any player and now that All-Star voting has been settling in the minds of players and fans alike. Some players will have outlier performances and you will not want to miss those in terms of DFS. Find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter with any questions.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/3/20.  You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks.  Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Kendrick Nunn - PG/SG, MIA @ ORL ($4,400)

Despite playing 38 minutes last game, Kendrick Nunn failed to really produce. This price drop is perfect for a value play since the Magic defense is significantly different now that Jonathan Isaac is going to be missing time. Orlando might be able to put together an offensive performance that can keep up with the Heat, but Miami's consistency on both ends of the floor is going to be too much. Nunn is going to make light work of the Magic guards and he should have plenty of freedom when he gets to the paint.

Kent Bazemore - SG/SF, POR @ WAS ($3,500)

Since Kent Bazemore is all over the place in DFS and in real-life, it makes sense to go with what works most of the time. Bazemore is always a low-end option because he has never been a consistent scorer, but the upside is there against the Wizards. The team is full of glorified G-League players, with Davis Bertans leading the charge. While Bertans can shoot with some of the best in the league, the Trail Blazers should be able to give players like Bazemore extra minutes and attempts without jeopardizing the outcome.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Marcus Morris Sr. - SF/PF, NYK @ PHO ($5,600)

I don't know if this really counts as a revenge game, but there is a very good chance Marcus Morris Sr. exceeds projected against the Suns, simply based on how contradicting the styles of play are. Morris will be grinding around the paint and mid-range, extending out to the three when necessary. While the Suns will be launching up long three's and meeting the Knicks bigs inside all night long. The rebounds have a great chance of failing his way and since the Knicks really lack shooters, he might be in for a massive night. This price is mediocre, but for his upside, Morris could be an under-owned steal.

Al Horford - PF/C, PHI @ HOU ($5,800)

Clint Capela returned to the Houston lineup and posted a double-double. That should be of some concern since he is capable of shutting down a good portion of the 76ers offense. Al Horford has never been a big stats player, but he tends to show up when the Sixers need him most. Since a majority of the team is in a bit of a slump, look for their superstars and veterans to shoot them out of it. Tobias Harris and Embiid need to space out the offense and since they haven't been able to recently, look for Horford to pick up the slack. It doesn't hurt upside that Philadelphia has two days off after this game.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Derrick Favors - PF/C, NOP @ LAL ($6,200)

The odds are stacked against Derrick Favors, but knowing his playstyle and how he generates points, he should be able to hold his own against anybody, even someone like Anthony Davis. Favors might get owned on the defensive end, but the Pelicans are lacking in their frontcourt scoring so they always look to get Favors going early. His price is medial for centers tonight, so while I suggest targeting someone like Nikola Vucevic, Favors can be a decent pivot.
