DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/29/18): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on June 29th, 2018. Adam Meyer's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

There’s a weird 5:05pm (EST) start on the board for Friday between the Twins and Cubs in Wrigley. Unfortunately, that matchup won’t be included in the slate, making Friday a 14-game (max) docket.

We have five games to choose from with over/unders of at least nine total runs. The highest total on the board is awarded to the White Sox and Rangers in Arlington (10.5 total runs). While those bats could be more expensive, don’t feel obligated to add bats from that game into your DK lineup. We have a big enough player pool to balance the salary between strikeout-compiling pitchers and home-run-hitting batters.

n this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/29/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Patrick Corbin, ARI (vs. SF) - $11,900

We have four pitchers who rank in the top nine of K/9 this season toeing the rubber on Friday night: Gerrit Cole (12.44), Trevor Bauer (11.78), Jacob deGrom (11.19), and Corbin (11.61). From that group, Corbin is the cheapest by $1,100 and he has a decent matchup to help reach his ceiling. The Giants are on his docket on Friday, a team in which Corbin has faced three times already this year. He’s 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA and has tallied 24 strikeouts in 20.2 innings of work. San Francisco is 25th in team wOBA (.303) against left-handed pitchers this season.

Rich Hill, LAD (vs. COL) - $7,700

Another NL West pitcher is on my radar as an SP2 for Friday. Something has to give when Hill takes on the Rockies. Colorado has the fifth-best team wOBA (.343) against left-handed pitchers this season, but they’re 22nd this year in team wOBA (.302) on the road. Not counting the game where Hill left the mound after two pitches, he’s held his opponents to two runs, or less, in two of the past three outings. He’s also struck out at least five batters in six of the past seven appearances.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Mike Zunino, SEA (vs. KC) - $3,400

Seattle has the fourth-highest implied run total on the Friday slate (4.9 runs) and a Mariners’ stack might be the most affordable. Zunino hasn’t contributed much in the past week (.111 AVG) or this season (.191 AVG). However, six of his 11 hits are for extra-bases this month and, in a small sample size, Zunino is 3-for-7 with a home run against Ian Kennedy. Also, Zunino is second on the team with a .245 ISO against right-handed pitchers since 2017.

1B - Chris Davis, BAL (vs. LAA) - $3,000

You’re looking at the first two hitters and you’re probably double-checking to see if this is the “avoid” article for Friday. Again, while Davis isn’t having the best week (.174 AVG) or season (.155 AVG), I still believe he can help your DFS lineup for Friday. Hear (read) me out. First of all, Davis has homered in back-to-back games. Secondly, Felix Pena is on the hill for the Angels. He’s allowing left-handed hitters to bat .417 (10-for-24) against him this season. Finally, Davis is extremely cheap on DK. For a HR-or-bust player, I’ll roll the dice at $3,000.

2B - Matt Carpenter, STL (vs. ATL) - $4,900

Okay, now we can start to spend some money on hitters. The second base position is hard to fill, especially if Ozzie Albies misses more time. However, Carpenter can give you power numbers at a spot where most DFSers punt. Carpenter checks all the boxes going into Friday’s matchup. He’s 12-for-24 (.500) with four doubles and three home runs (six walks) in the past week. He leads the Cardinals with a .241 ISO against righties since 2017. Finally, Carpenter is 6-for-12 (.500) with three extra-base hits (two home runs) against Julio Teheran.

3B - Justin Turner, LAD (vs. COL) - $3,900

Dollar-for-dollar, Turner might be my favorite play of the night. He leads the Dodgers with a .295 ISO against left-handed hitters since 2017, he’s tallied at least one hit in four of the past five games, and he has amazing BvP numbers against Tyler Anderson. In his career, Turner is 10-for-18 (.556) with four extra-base hits (one home run) against Anderson.

SS - Kike Hernandez, LAD (vs. COL) - $3,500

I’m always surprised to see Hernandez below $4,000 against lefties. He has a .283 ISO against southpaws since 2017. Also, he’s 7-for-23 (.304), with three home runs, against lefties and righties in the past week. Hernandez is only 4-for-18 (.222) in his career against Anderson, but every hit has been for extra-bases (one home run).

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Mitch Haniger, SEA (vs. KC) - $4,500

I know I mentioned a Seattle stack when I started talking about the bats in this article and Haniger is only the second Mariner I’ve listed. Cruz, at $300 more, is another great addition, if you can make it work. As for Haniger, he has a .225 ISO against righties (since 2017) and he’s 10-for-29 (.345), with three doubles, in the past week.

Marcell Ozuna, STL (vs. ATL) - $3,700

Ozuna is second-to-Carpenter in regards to team ISO against right-handed pitchers (.223). In the past week, Ozuna is 9-for-26 (.346) with two doubles (three walks). He also has a six-game hitting streak currently intact. As for the Cardinals opposing pitcher, Teheran allowed seven earned runs in his last appearance and has allowed at least four earned runs in two of the past three performances.

Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE (@ OAK) - $3,500

Did you really think the extra $200 boost would scare me away from Chisenhall? Not a chance. I’ve been on the Chisenhall bandwagon for DK since the beginning. He’s batting .328 in the month of June, with three doubles, one triple, and one home run. Cleveland faces Paul Blackburn on Friday night. He has the lowest strikeout percentage (10.5 percent) of any pitcher in the Friday slate. Blackburn lives and dies by the ground ball and the Indians will feast if they can put the ball in play.
