Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (4/17/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Yahoo DFS advice and daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 4/17/17 by Justin Klein. MLB DFS player recommendations for your Yahoo daily tournaments and GPPs.

Happy Easter Sunday! Or Happy Monday morning and/or Monday afternoon or whenever you're reading this. In any case there is one afternoon game and nine evening games on Monday. That's a total of 10 games on the slate for Monday so I'm going to focus on the nine evening games.  Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 4/17/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on Yahoo

Chicago Cubs vs Chase Anderson and the Brewers at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Or to be more specific, any right handed hitter on the Cubs that's in the starting lineup. In his MLB career that spans over 430 innings pitched, Mr. Anderson has allowed right handed hitters a triple slash of .293/.341/.492. Because of this I want all of the northpaws on the Cubs in the north side of Chicago on Monday night.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Danny Salazar at MIN ($47)

Salazar and the Indians are solid favorites over Kyle Gibson and the Twins at pitcher friendly Target Field on Monday. Not only should Danny be a strong favorite to land a win, but I expect him to strikeout a boatload of Twinkies in the process.

Jharel Cotton vs TEX ($25)

Cotton has averaged 15.3 FPPG thus far this season after a promising rookie campaign last year. Jharel and the Athletics will host the Rangers at O.CO Coliseum on Monday. Although the Rangers are a tough matchup for anyone I simply can't pass up Cotton at $25. Especially with the game taking place at such a pitcher friendly venue. I expect Jharel to post solid ratios and a handful of K's that should deliver at value at his price point.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C) - Wilson Contreras vs MIL ($12)

As I noted in the stack section I want all the RHH on the Cubs and Wilson is one of them. While he's better against LHP when it comes to AVG he's at his best in the ISO department against RHP (.209 ISO vs RHP in his career). I also love Wilson's price at just $12. On top of that I expect Anderson's hot start to Chase people away from Contreras on Monday night.

First Base (1B) -  Freddie Freeman vs SD ($25)

Freddie will get to face off with Jered Weaver and the Padres at home at the Braves new hitter friendly ballpark on Monday. That is significant because Freeman has obliterated RHP in his career to the tune of a .907 OPS and a .220 ISO. While he's expensive I'm happy to pay up for Freddie and his fabulous matchup on Monday and I suggest that you join me.

Second Base (2B) - Starlin Castro vs CHW ($14)

Castro has been at his best in the AVG and OBP departments against LHP in his career. On Monday he'll face LHP Derek Holland and the White Sox at home at Yankee Stadium in the Boogie Down Bronx. This is important because Starlin has managed an impressive triple slash of .310/.336/.514 at the house that Jeter built. At just $14 Castro is a solid value play in a good matchup.

Shortstop (SS) -  Francisco Lindor at MIN ($23)

I'm tempted to use Addison Russel here, but I can't pass up the red hot Lindor and his juicy matchup against Kyle Gibson and the Twins on Monday. Not only is Francisco at his best hitting against RHP, but he's also thieved over 84% of his SB off of them as well. The fact that Gibson struggles against lefties only helps, so join me and get Lindor into all of your lineups on Monday.

Third Base (3B) - Kris Bryant - vs LAD ($19)

I suggested any and all RHH on the Cubs against Chase Anderson and Kris Bryant leads that field on Monday. At just $19 he's a steal of a deal as well. In his career against RHP Bryant has posted an OBP of .372 and an ISO of .224.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Michael Brantley at MIN ($15) - In his career Brantley has triple slashed a healthy .299/.355/.444 against RHP. On Monday he'll face RHP Kyle Gibson and the Twinkies at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. That should be good for Michael and his owners in the fake game as Gibson has allowed LHH a triple slash of .281/.353/.415.

Scott Van Slyke vs ARI ($7) - Van Slyke has crushed southpaws to the tune of a .218 ISO over his career and he'll face Robbie Ray and the Diamondbacks on Monday at home at Chavez Ravine in LA. At just $7 and likely hitting fifth I can't pass up on the enormous value that Scott can give a fake squad against a lefty.
