DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/16/16): MLB DFS Advice

Saturdays during the MLB season typically mean that there are games going on all day. Such is the case today, as start times range from 1:05 p.m. until 9:10 p.m. With all the different start times, not all players may be available depending on the DraftKings contests you choose to participate in.

With the pitching rotations in full swing, a few aces will be on the bump today. The likes of Jake Arrieta, Felix Hernandez, and Max Scherzer will all be in action. However, if you want to go the cheaper route, some very good value picks will be available at pitcher.

15 games are on tap today, providing plenty of both high-priced and value fantasy picks.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/16/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Washington Nationals vs. Aaron Nola (RHP)

A potent lineup against a young pitcher in a favorable ballpark for hitters makes the Nationals a good stacking option today. Though there could just be two lefties in the lineup, they both make strong plays. Expect big days from Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy. Ryan Zimmerman and Wilson Ramos have both been hitting well heading into the contest as well.

San Francisco Giants vs. Scott Kazmir (LHP)

No, you're not reading a copy of my post from last Sunday. Yes, I suggested this same stack, and if you used it, then you know how well it worked out. Buster Posey, Brandon Belt, Joe Panik, and Angel Pagan all came up big. Although the rematch is on the road, Dodger Stadium is a better hitter's park than AT&T Park. The Giants, especially the righties, were successful against Kazmir the last time out, so try it once again.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jared Weaver, LAA at MIN - $6,700

The righty went six strong innings in his first outing and will look to continue that momentum into today's start. Although starting on the road, he'll get a Twins club that has struggled to hit the ball. Minnesota doesn't offer much in the way of offensive firepower, making Weaver an excellent choice today.

Adam Wainwright, CIN at STL - $9,100

I know what you're thinking, and trust me, it's valid. Wainwright has been rocked in his two starts this year, giving up 12 hits and eight earned runs with just five strikeouts. Add all of that up, and it makes Wainwright someone who most people will likely shy away from. However, he makes for a solis sleeper choice today, particularly in GPP games. He's making his first start of the season and gets a favorable matchup with the Reds. There's definitely risk involved, but Wainwright is a nice sleeper choice tonight.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Jarrod Saltalamacchia, DET at HOU  - $3,000

Salty has been on fire lately and has quickly become a popular waiver wire addition. He's also gaining fame in daily formats, so expect a higher than normal ownership number. Today he'll face righty Collin McHugh, who's struggled to the tune of a 6.14 ERA this season. Saltalamacchia will be hitting from the left side against McHugh, and that's great for his fantasy owners, as he's raked against righties so far this season.

First Base (1B)

Brandon Belt, SF vs. LAD - $4,000

Heading into last Sunday's matchup, Belt had only faced Scott Kazmir six times, but he homered in two of those opportunities. Well, he now has a third dinger against the lefty, making him another solid DFS play at first base today.

Second Base (2B)

Daniel Murphy, WAS at PHI - $4,200

Coming off a fantastic season with the Mets in 2015, Murphy joined a strong Washington lineup this offseason. He's been pounding the ball so far, and gets a good matchup to keep that up today. The second baseman makes good contact and has shown the ability to hit for average. He's been an offensive machine for the Nationals and doesn't show signs of slowing down. Murphy is a strong play today, so be sure to plug him in.

Shortstop (SS)

Francisco Lindor, NYM at CLE - $3,500

Lindor has had a strong start to the season and his numbers have him producing among the top shortstops in the league. Today he gets to go up against a struggling Matt Harvey. To make the matchup even better, Lindor, who hits from both sides of the plate, has crushed right-handed pitching this year. Consider him a top option at shortstop today.

Third Base (3B)

Martin Prado, MIA vs. ATL - $3,500

If you are looking to save some money, take a chance on Prado. As usual, he has just gone quietly about his business. He's not flashy or exciting, but constantly hits for average and can score plenty of runs. The utility man has had a hot start to the season and can be counted on to hit for a good average. He's in a good spot today against a struggling Bud Norris.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Angel Pagan, SF vs. LAD - $3,500

I am going to roll with Pagan again today after he went yard off of Kazmir the last time they met. It'd be nice to have Pagan stick to a better spot in San Francisco's batting order, but at least he's been productive everywhere. Batting first or second would be nice, but he's done well out of the eight or even the nine spot. Regardless of where he hits today, get him into your DFS lineup as a GPP sleeper play.

Bryce Harper, WSH at PHI - $5,000

Harper has lived up to expectations, becoming one of the best fantasy outfielders available. He usually makes for a good play every night, but he's an especially strong play in a favorable matchup in a park that's been good for hitters. Harper blasted 42 homers a year ago, and seems poised to get close to that number once again.

Joey Rickard, BAL at TEX- $3,300

Rickard has been a pleasant surprise for the Orioles, showing a knack for getting on base. He's hit well to start the season and gets the added bonus of hitting in the top spot of a potent lineup. His salary remains low, as does his ownership, making him an excellent value pick for DFS lineups today.
