Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 1:

MarShawn Lloyd, RB, Packers
Trade Value: 27
ROS Rank: 70

The Green Bay Packers will be without running back Josh Jacobs (personal) to begin the season, as the three-time Pro Bowler was put on the Commissioner's Exempt List in late August, and on Tuesday, offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich told reporters the team would use a committee approach to open the year. "It's gonna be running back by committee for a little bit to see where everyone is at."

MarShawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks, and Kaleb Johnson are the three backs on the team's 53-man roster, and while Lloyd has arguably the highest ceiling of the bunch, he has struggled to stay healthy since the team spent a third-round pick on him in the 2024 NFL Draft. Speaking on his skill set, Stenavich told the assembled media, "[Lloyd] definitely has explosive ability, playmaking ability."

The Packers open the season in a divisional matchup with the Vikings, and while a committee approach is the last thing fantasy managers were hoping to hear about days before the start of the season, Lloyd's talent should be on display early, keeping him in the Week 1 flex conversation.

Verdict: Emerging as a sell-high candidate following a strong showing early in the season. Lloyd may not see a true workhorse role, and there is a possibility Jacobs returns by the second half.

Christian Watson, WR, Packers
Trade Value: 34
ROS Rank: 57

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson should benefit from a new-look offensive game plan this season. With Josh Jacobs (personal) on the commissioner's exempt list and sidelined indefinitely, we expect the Packers to adopt a more pass-heavy approach on offense. Out of all the Packers' wide receivers, Christian Watson should benefit the most, given his existing role atop the depth chart.

Last year, despite playing in an offense that ran through Jacobs, Watson managed to catch 35 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns across just 10 games. He averaged 13.2 full-PPR points per game, and he ranked as the overall WR12 from Weeks 8-17. Staying healthy and on the field will be the biggest factor for Watson, but assuming he clears that hurdle, he has top-15 upside at the wide receiver position.

His price tag hasn't quite adjusted to the expectations of this offense sans Jacobs, as he still has an ADP of 64.2 (sixth round). This creates an opportunity for fantasy managers to draft him at a discount.

Verdict: Top buy-high candidate. With Green Bay not having a true option in the backfield, they could lean on Jordan Love, which would greatly benefit his No. 1 pass catcher.

Zay Flowers, WR, Ravens
Trade Value: 51
ROS Rank: 31

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers (lower body) was seen leading positional drills during the media accessible portion of Tuesday's practice, and beat reporter Jamison Hensley points out that he looks to be operating at full strength after missing two weeks of practice with a lower-body ailment.

Flowers caught a career-high 86 passes for 1,211 yards on his way to a WR7 finish in 2025, and he returns as a focal point of a Ravens offense looking to get more explosive under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Having never topped five touchdowns in a season, it's possible he has yet to approach his true fantasy ceiling, making Flowers a legitimate WR1 candidate for the second year in a row and a potential value as RotoBaller's WR14.

Verdict: Like Watson, Flowers is a top buy candidate. With improved health and a new offensive scheme, Flowers could turn in the best season of his career.

D'Andre Swift, RB, Bears
Trade Value: 32
ROS Rank: 51

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (abdomen) was back at practice on Monday, according to The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs. The Bears held a brisk, 50-minute practice session, but it was good to see both Swift and Kyle Monangai (knee) back on the field. Swift was pulled from last Thursday's practice early with abdominal cramps, so the 27-year-old should be just fine for the Week 1 regular-season opener this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Monangai's status is a bit more uncertain after he suffered a hyperextended knee back on Aug. 16 in training camp. If Monangai is out or limited, Swift could see an even larger piece of the backfield pie to kick things off against Carolina this weekend, making him a must-start low-end RB1/high-end RB2 option as Chicago's starting RB.

Swift finished as the RB14 in half-PPR scoring last year, producing 1,087 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 223 carries while adding 34 receptions for 299 yards and another score through the air in 16 regular-season games. Swift could have an even better year in 2026 if the Bears' offense can take another step forward in head coach Ben Johnson's second season in the Windy City.

Verdict: Buy-high following this recent injury scare. With Monagai still working his way back from injury, Swift could take the bulk of the carries for the foreseeable future in one of the league's top offensive units.

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 1 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Christian Watson, D'Andre Swift, MarShawn Lloyd, Brian Thomas Jr., Zay Flowers, Jadarian Price. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
