Should you draft Jordyn Tyson, Antonio Williams, Omar Cooper Jr. in fantasy football in 2026? RotoBaller's fantasy outlooks for these rookie wide receivers.
Unlike this year's rookie running back class, the group of WRs coming out of college and into the NFL is quite interesting, even in redraft fantasy football. Three prospects were rated higher than the rest, and all were selected in the first round.
A fourth WR was selected in the first round as well. We'll talk about him, one of the noted early first-rounders, and another rookie that's gotten some camp buzz below. All three have a solid chance of having big roles this season.
Betting on rookie wideouts usually doesn't work out. That's a given. WR is a position that takes time to develop in the NFL, and many players don't play their best football until they've been in the league for at least two seasons. But sleeper breakouts happen all the time, so let's dive in!

Jordyn Tyson Fantasy Football Outlook
Tyson (hamstring) was drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the eighth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. His career is off to an absolute nightmare of a start. He had been dealing with hamstring issues for nearly a year up to when training camp started. And he suffered yet another hamstring ailment after falling on the sidelines after a play.
Tyson already had serious questions circulating about his ability to stay healthy. It appears he has chronic issues with one or both of his hamstrings now, and we may not see him fully out of the woods until Year 2. It's hard to know whether he'll return to full health this season.
Tyson was reportedly expected to miss at least a month due to the issue, which puts his Week 1 status in jeopardy. While he's almost certain to play at some point this season, we may see his reps limited to protect him from further issues.

Additionally, he may be ramped up to full participation over the first few weeks. By Week 5 or Week 6, he should be fully involved, though he will have missed a lot of important reps at practice to get acclimated in the Saints offense.
New Orleans, with head coach Kellen Moore and quarterback Tyler Shough, should have a solid passing offense in 2026. The runway is clear for a large target share for Chris Olave.
Tyson's talent is noticeable, and he's an excellent separator. He has great body control and is adept at making catches down the field. He's not a speedster, but he should get layup targets owing to his short-area quickness. He's worth a late-round flier as a potential mid-to-late season breakout candidate.
Antonio Williams Fantasy Football Outlook
Williams seemed poised to get a big role in an offense that was lacking in receiving talent. He had an opportunity at being the team's WR2 behind Terry McLaurin, their undisputed top wideout. But then the Commanders signed WR Stefon Diggs, who was a free agent.
Even though he tore his ACL in 2024, Diggs had an excellent 2025 season. He didn't put up monster numbers, but he was highly efficient, and his film passed the eye test. Despite his age, he's still a great route-runner and separator, and he exhibits good body control, strong hands, and the ability after the catch.

Diggs seems likely to stay in the slot this season, but Williams' role in this offense might be minimal for now. He'll probably have to beat out WR Treylon Burks for a role on the outside -- Burks hasn't done much in his NFL career, so there's always a chance.
The rookie was taken in the third round, which isn't a spot that great NFL WRs typically come out of. And those picks usually don't produce much in their rookie seasons. Washington's offense could be rough this year -- their offensive line is in shambles after their star left tackle went down with a season-ending injury.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels can be productive as a passer, but McLaurin and Diggs are likely to be the only WRs worth drafting in fantasy this season if all stay healthy.
Omar Cooper Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook
The Jets are likely to have a poor offense again this season. While quarterback Geno Smith is an upgrade over Justin Fields as a passer, he's 35 years old and has less mobility, and the Jets haven't had a good offense in years. And WR Garrett Wilson is an elite talent that will absorb most of the team's targets, leaving few opportunities for the WR2/WR3 on the roster.

However, the reports out of camp that Cooper wasn't even beating out WR Isaiah Williams for the WR3 job early in training camp were quite concerning. These may be a bit more smoke than reality, as draft capital alone should land Cooper a prominent target share for now, but they aren't encouraging.
Adonai Mitchell has turned in an impressive camp and is the early favorite to claim the No. 2 role.
The Jets are likely to have one of the league's worst offensive units. Cooper is only interesting as an extreme late-round pick given his inconsistent projected target share.
