Christopher Vizzina Expected to Start in Week 1 Against LSU
Clemson senior Christopher Vizzina and true freshman Tait Reynolds have been competing for the starting quarterback job this offseason, but Pete Nakos of On3 said "it would come as a surprise" if Vizzina was not the team's starter to open the season against LSU. Vizzina reportedly led the offense to a couple of scoring drives during the team scrimmage, and his long career as a backup in the program should give him a leg up. That said, Reynolds has flashed early on in his first fall camp and could push for playing time at some point in the season. Vizzina has appeared in 14 career games, completing 64 of his 105 passing attempts for 596 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Reynolds arrives at Clemson as a Rivals three-star recruit out of Queen Creek, Arizona.
