Bubba Wallace Crashes in Qualifying at Sonoma
Fresh off of his comeback runner-up finish last weekend at San Diego, Bubba Wallace came back down to Earth on Saturday at Sonoma Raceway, when he lost control of his No. 23 Toyota and wrecked during qualifying. Bubba spun out and ended up hitting the wall, causing significant damage to the front end of the race car. The 23XI Racing team opted to fix the damage instead of going to a backup car, though. Bubba will still have to start from the rear of the field on race day, although he will be officially credited with a 26th-place starting spot for DFS purposes. At Sonoma specifically, Bubba has struggled quite a bit, with just three top-20 finishes in his seven career starts, and no result better than 14th. Although he had a great run at the street course last weekend, fantasy players should temper their expectations with Bubba Wallace at Sonoma this weekend.
