Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Charlie Condon, Max Clark, Braden Montgomery - that can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.
Targeting elite prospects who are nearing their MLB debuts is key to winning your fantasy baseball league. Last season, Nick Kurtz not only made his MLB debut sooner than expected, but he also emerged as a top-10 hitter in the sport.
In this piece, we will look at three hitting prospects who have shown high-end upside in the minor leagues and could make an impact as soon as they debut.
Should fantasy managers stash these high-end prospects? Let's dive in!

Charlie Condon, OF, Colorado Rockies
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 10% rostered
2026 AAA Stats:15 G, .322/.452/.559, 2 2B, 4 HR, 2 SB
With the Rockies stuck in what feels like a perpetual rebuild, there’s very little standing in Condon’s way when it comes to reaching the major leagues. That said, the Rockies are still the Rockies, which makes them tough to predict, but there’s little doubt Condon has done enough to earn a call-up in the near future.
The 23-year-old was selected third overall in the 2024 MLB Draft out of the University of Georgia and profiles as a corner infielder/outfielder with an elite power tool. FanGraphs grades his raw power as a 70, and he’s already shown the ability to leave the yard to all fields. This season, he’s recorded a max exit velocity of 112.6 mph along with a .456 xSLG.

On paper, that kind of power paired with the thin, mile-high air in Denver is a dangerous combination. Unfortunately, with his power-first profile, he’s long struggled with contact and has shown consistent swing-and-miss tendencies. While he still needs to refine his pitch recognition and timing, he appears to be making real progress with his plate discipline. In Triple-A, Condon has posted a 16.4% walk rate along with an improved 73.6% contact rate.
But when will his promotion come? With the current competition in front of him, it may not take long. At the major-league level, the Rockies are rolling with Troy Johnston at first base, while underperformers Jake McCarthy, Jordan Beck, and Tyler Freeman split time in the outfield. Condon already projects as a more impactful bat than any of them, and he has the upside to be a long-term fantasy asset.
Overall, Condon is a strong stash in 15-team leagues and should be rostered everywhere once he gets the call this summer, which could be as soon as late May. If you lack in power, you could do a lot worse than a first-round pick who plays in Coors Field.

Max Clark, OF, Detroit Tigers
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AAA Stats: 20 G, .333/.404/.494, 8 2B, 1 Hr, 6 SB
While fellow top Detroit prospect Kevin McGonigle is making an impact with the major league team, Max Clark has gotten off to a strong start in Triple-A Toledo and is loudly knocking on the door to the major leagues right now. In his first 89 plate appearances, Clark is slashing .351/.416/.519 with 10 extra-base hits, six steals, and as many walks as strikeouts (10).

Clark is making plenty of contact this season with a 92.6% zone and 85.1% overall contact rate to pair with a stellar 11.5% walk and 11.5% strikeout rate. He's also posted a solid 89.2 mph AVG EV and 41.8% hard-hit rate. However, Clark only has one home run and a 1.8% barrel rate, largely due to a near 50% ground-ball rate.
The long-term power upside is a 15-20 homer bat, but even if there aren't many home runs this season, Clark can make a decent fantasy impact thanks to his blend of contact, approach, and speed.

Braden Montgomery, OF, Chicago White Sox
Current Level: AA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AA Stats: 17 G, .344/.436/.689, 5 2B, 4 HR, 2 SB
The future is bright in Chicago as Montgomery continues to impress within the White Sox's farm system. The young outfield prospect was originally selected in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox, fetching a $5 million signing bonus after an impressive collegiate career at Texas A&M. However, he was traded to the White Sox in the December 2024 deal headlined by Garrett Crochet.
A switch-hitting outfielder, Montgomery possesses plenty of power, and he's started showing a tendency to strike out more as a result of the increased power approach. It has worked out fine so far, and it will give him a high-upside profile as he approaches the majors. He has a strong arm and enough speed to keep him in center field for now, but he could eventually switch to a corner outfield spot.
Last week, Montgomery went 12-for-20 with one home run, five doubles, two triples, and seven RBI. He also drew four walks, struck out five times, and stole a base. The 23-year-old is currently in Double-A, and while the White Sox won't rush him, he could be a late-season call-up if he continues to hit this well.
