Cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. has re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year deal that will keep him from hitting the open market, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport. Samuel signed with the Steelers midway through the 2025 season, playing in six games and starting three, tallying one interception on the year. Set to play for his fifth defensive coordinator in his sixth professional season, the Steelers will hope to make use of the natural instincts and ball skills that made him a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021 but have yet to consistently translate in the NFL.--Patrick McGrath
