Devin Neal, Kareem Hunt, Woody Marks: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 14

Devin Neal - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Rankings

Should I start Devin Neal, Kareem Hunt, Woody Marks for Week 14? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

Week 14 is the last week of bye weeks in the NFL regular season, so your fantasy football team will once again be stretched to cover the absence of the four teams for the last time this season. If the bye weeks, injuries, or ineffectiveness have stretched your team thin, you might have some tough decisions at running back.

In this post, we'll look at three running backs who are borderline starters to see if they should be in your lineup this week. Should you start or sit Devin Neal, Kareem Hunt,  and Woody Marks in Week 14? All three running backs have potential upside, but they have been inconsistent in some weeks as well.

So, should fantasy managers start Neal, Hunt, and Marks in Week 14? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Devin Neal for Fantasy Football?

Injury Update: Alvin Kamara has been ruled OUT

The Saints were without Alvin Kamara (knee) in Week 13, and the veteran running back has still not returned to practice for New Orleans as they prepare for their Week 14 matchup against the Buccaneers.

In Kamara's place, rookie Devin Neal got the start for the Saints and set new career bests in multiple categories. He played 82% of snaps and took 14 carries for 47 rushing yards against the Dolphins. He added three catches on three targets for 22 more yards.

The sixth-round pick from Kansas has totaled 108 rushing yards on his 31 carries this season and has added 86 receiving yards on 15 catches while getting 17 targets.

While he hasn't had a touchdown yet, he has picked up eight first downs.

With such a large snap share, Neal has the potential for success this week against the Bucs. Opposing running backs have 12 touchdowns in 12 games against the Bucs this season, averaging 77.4 rushing yards and 56.8 receiving yards per game.

The Saints should continue to feed him the ball this week if Kamara is out once again. The rookie checks in as the No. 23 running back in RotoBaller's rankings, which don't include Kamara this week.

He's a borderline flex play against the Bucs this week, and he will have a solid chance to get into the end zone for the first time in the NFL.

Should I Start Kareem Hunt for Fantasy Football?

The Chiefs have used a timeshare blending Hunt and Isiah Pacheco for most of the season, but Pacheco has missed some time recently due to injury, leaving Hunt to carry most of the workload.

Hunt's role in the timeshare was shrinking before Pacheco's injury, and he played 33% of snaps or fewer in Week 5 through Week 8. However, he played over 70% of snaps in Week 9 through Week 12, while Pacheco was out, serving as a solid fill-in and regular starter for fantasy football.

His fantasy production has been touchdown-dependent, but all year long, the veteran has shown a knack for getting into the end zone. He has eight touchdowns on the season after this rushing score in Week 12:

Hunt has excelled as a short-yardage specialist, and he finished that game against the Colts with 104 rushing yards. Most of the season, though, he has lower yardage totals while grinding out yards with a few catches sprinkled in as well.

This week, Pacheco could be ready for a larger role, which does bring an added risk factor to starting Hunt. Last week, Pacheco played against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving but only had three carries for 16 rushing yards and two catches for 17 receiving yards. He's practicing in full this week and could be ready for closer to a 50-50 timeshare with Hunt this week.

Another risk factor for Hunt is that he's in a tough matchup against the Texans' defense, which hasn't allowed many points to any position this season.

With the possibility of Pacheco stealing work and a tough matchup, Hunt does have more risk than Neal, but he is also a much more proven option. In RotoBaller's rankings, he checks in just ahead of Neal as the No. 21 RB on the slate, making him a strong flex play or a low-end RB2 depending on the size of your league.

Hunt is definitely a starting option this week, even though he remains touchdown-reliant.

Should I Start Woody Marks for Fantasy Football?

On the other side of that Sunday Night Football showdown between the Texans and the Chiefs, Woody Marks ranks right in between Hunt and Neal as RotoBaller's No. 22 running back this week.

Marks has taken over the majority of the timeshare with Nick Chubb over the last few weeks, but hasn't been able to translate his increased volume into increased production.

The rookie from USC has averaged 67.1% of the snaps with 18.1 touches and 67.1 total yards over his last four games. He found the end zone just once in that span while catching five passes.

Last week against the Colts, he left with an ankle injury but returned to help put the game away with some tough yards late.

He missed practice on Wednesday, but was able to return on Thursday, which indicates he's trending towards being available this week against the Chiefs. Kansas City has had a very good run defense this season, allowing only eight running back touchdowns in 12 games and an average of 76 rushing yards and 30 receiving yards per game to the position.

Since he's RotoBaller's RB22, he is another strong flex option or low-end RB2. My personal preference would be to start him over Hunt and Neal this week because I like his breakout potential and how effective the Texans' offense has been the last few weeks.

Each of these three backs has upside, along with risk factors. None of them are top-20, "must-start" plays in standard-sized leagues, but each of them brings potential and can be starters or flex options in most formats.
