Jayden Daniels Injury Update for Fantasy Football
2025 has been a disaster for Jayden Daniels. The second quarterback missed Weeks 3 and 4 with a knee injury. Daniels returned in Week 6, but injured his hamstring in Week 7 and missed another game.
Daniels returned to the field again in Week 9, but suffered a grotesque dislocated elbow in the closing moments of a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks. There was initial speculation that the elbow injury would prove to be season-ending, even though it was his non-throwing arm.
Sources: #Commanders QB Jayden Daniels’ MRI and medical opinions revealed positive news, as his dislocated left elbow is not as serious as originally anticipated. There was no ligament damage & he won't need surgery.

The tests and scans showed no major damage to Daniels’ elbow, leading to speculation that Daniels quickly healed without structural damage, and the team did not put the quarterback on injured reserve. However, the Washington Commanders have lost every game without Daniels, ending the team’s playoff hopes.
Washington is on their bye week during Week 12, so we will know soon if Daniels is healthy enough to return to the field.
Jayden Daniels Fantasy Football Outlook
Jayden Daniels’ second season was not as impressive as his first, but he was still a dependable quarterback in fantasy when healthy. Daniels played in six games this season, averaging 18.9 points per game (QB12). He had one top-five finish.

There is very little reason for the Commanders to bring Daniels back this season, with a chance at the playoffs all but gone. On the other side, Daniels (and the offense in general) could use more repetitions this year after their collective struggles. If Daniels is healthy enough (and willing) to play, then there really isn't a reason to keep him sidelined. Ultimately, none of his injuries have hinted at an underlying issue that needs to be corrected. They have just been due to bad luck.
If Daniels returns, he can provide top 5 production, even if he’s proven to be a low-end QB1 this season. However, there is a very good chance that the team decides to shut down their young quarterback after he’s missed time this season with three separate injuries. If Daniels is on your waiver wire he should be added to your bench (in deeper leagues) due to his ability to break fantasy with his arm and legs. He can easily be dropped if the team ultimately decides to shut him down for the season.
