Week 8 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2025 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Evan McPherson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Kicker Streamers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Kacey Kasem looks at all 2025 fantasy football Week 8 kickers -- streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. Our Week 8 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.

Welcome back to our fantasy football kicker streamers, rankings, and starts for Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season. Every week brings a new headline or two when it comes to the kicker position. Week 7 was no different. Brandon Aubrey became the first kicker in league history to knock in five field goals of 60-plus yards. I can't even run 60 yards, and he's out here banging through the uprights from that distance.

We also have to bring up Lucas Havrisik, stepping in for an injured Brandon McManus. He booted a 61-yarder, setting a new Packers franchise record for longest FG. Meanwhile, Jude McAtamney missed two extra points for the Giants, including one with 37 seconds left that gift-wrapped a Broncos' win. Kickers, bringing families together. My dad texted me, "Giants kicker will probably get fired." Hi, Dad.

Anyway, between record-breaking makes and brutal misses, managers are left scrambling to find someone to trust in Week 8. Don't worry because I have you covered. We'll go over a few kickers worthy of being in starting lineups as well as a few you might want to bench for the time being. Here's to your kicker ending up with headlines for all the right reasons this week.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 8

Only kickers rostered in fewer than 60% of fantasy football leagues are considered streamers.

Evan McPherson (CIN) vs. New York Jets
24% Rostered

They've fixed Evan McPherson! Okay, maybe he didn't need to be fixed, but the offense wasn't giving him anything to work with. After weeks of limited volume and frustrating offensive play, Cincinnati finally got something done with Joe Flacco under center.

In Thursday night's 33-31 victory over the Steelers, McPherson reminded managers why he is one of the best kickers in the game. He connected on all four of his field goals and all three extra points, including a clutch 36-yarder that sealed their win late in the contest. Additionally, he knocked in field goals from 49, 45, and 23 yards.

This is the kind of performance we've been wanting out of McPherson. He's now 10-of-12 on field goals and perfect on 14 extra points. He's never had an issue with leg strength, but the lack of scoring drives has hindered his performance. With the offense moving again, his ceiling becomes greater (back to more of what we expected when we drafted him).

In Week 8, the Bengals face the Jets, a team that's been the single easiest matchup for kickers this year. If you've been benching McPherson (or begrudgingly starting him), this is the time to plug him back in. He's finally seeing the volume and efficiency that match his talent.

Will Reichard (MIN) at Los Angeles Chargers
7% Rostered

I'm not quite sure how Reichard is still flying under the radar, but he's been one of the more dependable legs in football this year. The Vikings can move the ball, but they tend to have issues finishing drives with touchdowns. For fantasy purposes, that's the scenario you want your kicker to be in.

Against the Eagles in Week 7, Reichard had an impressive outing. He went a perfect five-for-five on field goals while connecting on his only extra point try in Minnesota's 28-22 loss. He knocked in his longest try of the day from 59 yards while also connecting on kicks from 34, 28, 25, and 29 yards. He is now 13-of-14 on field goals and a perfect 12-of-12 on extra points this campaign.

He'll head into SoFi Stadium to face the Chargers in Week 8. That's a controlled environment, meaning no wind or other weather issues. In a game with plenty of offensive potential on both sides, look for Reichard to find work in this one. The Chargers have been middle-of-the-pack against kickers, but with a kicker as consistent as Reichard, you don't have to worry much.

If you're in need of a safe floor with the real potential for volume, Reichard is the guy. He's accurate and playing in favorable conditions, plus he just had that monster game. Get him in your lineup this week.

Parker Romo (ATL) vs. Miami Dolphins
2% Rostered

Are you in search of a kicker with a juicy matchup that should be available on waivers? Romo is set up for the ideal home matchup in Week 8 as he faces the Dolphins. Everything about this setup points to upside. The game is at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, taking the weather out of the equation.

Miami's defense has made kickers look good this season. The Dolphins surrender the third-most fantasy points per contest to the position. They've given up 18 made extra points and seven made field goals from 30-39 yards (tied for most in the NFL). When teams are in the red zone against Miami, they can stall. This is where Romo will succeed in Week 8.

Last week, facing the 49ers, Romo wasn't provided with much work. He went 1-for-1 on both field goals and extra points, but San Francisco ranks second against kickers for a reason. On the season, he's 9-for-12 on field goals and perfect on extra points.

Atlanta's offense has been inconsistent (as shown in Week 7), but it usually does enough to move the ball. If Romo gets three attempts this week, he could see a double-digit performance. He's a great streamer for Week 8, especially if you're missing one of the six kickers on bye.

Kickers to Avoid for Week 8

Tyler Loop (BAL) vs. Chicago Bears
20% Rostered

So far, Loop's rookie season has been impressive, but it's hard to depend on him when he sees a lack of chances. Baltimore's offense has been uneven this season, and the team has only attempted 10 field goals. For fantasy purposes, that kind of usage is hard to trust.

His last outing came in Week 6's 17-3 loss to the Rams, when he made his only field goal try of 37 yards. Loop's story has gone like this all year, and it's hard to start a kicker when he gets just one attempt per game.

He's been almost perfect when called upon, connecting on 9-of-10 field goals and 15-of-16 extra points. Now, coming off a bye, Loop finds himself in a tough spot against a Bears defense allowing the eighth-fewest fantasy points to kickers. Chicago has a defense that bends just enough to force punts over field goal tries.

Loop has the talent, but he's not gaining the volume needed to use it. Until the Ravens can find more consistency in their offense, you're better off streaming the position.

Nick Folk (NYJ) at Cincinnati Bengals
5% Rostered

Sometimes being a good kicker in the NFL doesn't mean they're a good kicker for fantasy purposes, and that's the case for Folk. He's been perfect this season, knocking in 14-of-14 field goals and 7-of-7 extra points. Unfortunately, he has to actually get into range in order to be effective.

Last week's 13-6 loss to Carolina pretty much displayed the Jets in a nutshell this season. Justin Fields was benched for Tyrod Taylor, and there are questions as to who their starting QB will be going forward. Drives die before midfield, and although Folk can hit from anywhere, they need to get across the 50-yard line to give him a real shot.

Week 8's contest doesn't help matters, as Cincinnati gives up the 11th-fewest fantasy points to opposing kickers. It's an outdoor game, meaning the weather will need to be monitored. Oh yes, and the Jets are still searching for their first win as they sit at 0-7, ranking bottom-seven in both total yards and points scored.

Folk remains one of the more accurate kickers in the league, but he's stuck in one of the worst offenses. If you need a safe name this week, he will give you a handful of points. But if you can pivot to someone in a better spot, you should.

Matt Gay (WAS) at Kansas City Chiefs
68% Rostered

All season long, Gay has at least been steady, but the matchup and environment this week aren't ideal. Washington heads to Arrowhead Stadium to battle a Chiefs defense that's been pretty dominant against kickers. They've allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing kickers this season, conceding just 13 points after attempts and nine field goal tries in total.

Last week, in the loss to the Cowboys, he didn't even see one field goal attempt. The kicker managed just two extra points in a contest where Washington wasn't moving the ball. When the Commanders fall behind early, the kicking game tends to disappear.

Through seven contests, Gay has connected on 10-of-14 field goals and a perfect 18-of-18 on extra points. He's been automatic on PATs, but the field-goal accuracy has been spotty. Add in Washington's offense, which can stall and could be without Jayden Daniels (hamstring), and there are too many red flags in addition to the matchup.

Gay's leg has upside in the right contests, but this isn't one of them. It's in your best interest to find a safer, high-volume option that's available on waivers until the Commanders can get back on track.
