Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 1? Tank Bigsby, Breece Hall, Braelon Allen Outlooks

Tank Bigsby - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire

Tank Bigsby, Breece Hall, Braelon Allen fantasy football start em, sit em picks for Week 1 of 2025. Should I start Tank Bigsby, Breece Hall, Braelon Allen?

We offer a collective “thank you” to the football gods for blessing us with some early-season chaos. While Jets vs. Steelers isn’t exactly Jets–Patriots or Steelers–Ravens level beef, it still has drama: Aaron Rodgers’ return to New York, Justin Fields trying to dunk on the team that ghosted him for Russell Wilson (after he literally gave them a winning record), and… oh yeah, fantasy football headaches.

Let’s be real: if you’re starting Rodgers or Fields in a single-QB league, you’re basically juggling chainsaws blindfolded, even with the revenge factors. That’s why we’re turning our attention to the RBs — because Week 1 can make or break your season.

This week, we’re breaking down Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, and just for spice, tossing in a little Tank Bigsby. Here’s who you should trust, who you should bench, and who might just ruin your Sunday afternoon beer.

Tank Bigsby’s Messy Backfield, Darn Tuten

Duval faithful can yell it all they want: “DUUUVAL!” But for fantasy? There are questions to be answered, and it starts with Trevor Lawrence and the offense the team has invested in quite a bit. The offensive line will need to focus in order to keep him upright.

As for the running back room…Enter with warning!

New HC Liam Coen seems thrilled about his three-headed RB monster — Etienne, Bigsby, and Bhayshul Tuten — which is great for the Jaguars, terrible for your lineup. Sprinkle in Travis Hunter (yes, that Travis Hunter), who could apparently play up to 80% of the offensive snaps, and Week 1 touches become impossible to project.

Sure, the matchup against Carolina looks tasty, but do you really want to play “snap count roulette” in Week 1? Keep Bigsby parked on your bench until this backfield sorts itself out.

Breece Hall’s Head Space Before Week 1

Fantasy managers may be panicking about Breece Hall’s role — he’s voiced frustration, and HC Aaron Glenn isn’t hiding the fact that he wants to mix things up. But let’s not overthink it: Hall is still a mismatch, and Coach Glenn knows it.

The Jets will want to establish the run to control tempo and punch back at Pittsburgh’s physicality. Hall doesn’t need 25 carries to matter — a steady workload should still make him fantasy-relevant against a Tomlin defense that rarely gives in easily.

Braelon Allen, The Jets’ War Machine

Last year, Braelon Allen was the NFL’s youngest player. At times, he looked like a deer in headlights…except that deer was 240 pounds and could put on runs like this.

The kid looks like a grown man ready to wreck defenses — and maybe make Hall’s fantasy managers cry, especially near the red zone.

OC Tanner Engstrand knows how to deploy a two-headed backfield (ask anyone who rostered David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs last year). With Allen’s physicality, he has stated that the offense is similar to the one he ran in Wisconsin his freshman year. He’s not just a complementary piece — he has real flex appeal in Week 1.

Oh, and did we mention the Jets’ QB is nursing a toe injury? Translation: more runs, fewer risks for further injury. The Steelers’ defense is no joke, but in the last three seasons, when they allow 30+ rushing attempts to the opposing offenses, they give up an average of 158 yards. Run the ball, Coach Glenn!

So yes, fire up both Jets RBs as this might be the rare backfield where everyone eats.
