Our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) analysts reveal their teams for Gameweek 3 of the English Premier League fantasy game. Expert picks on Captains, Strategy, Chips, and Transfers to make ahead of the upcoming FPL gameweek.
Happy Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 3, RotoBallers! Gameweek 2 started with a 5-1 thrashing of West Ham at the hands of Chelsea. It then ended with another cracking edition of Newcastle-Liverpool as the defending Champions saw Rio Ngumoha score the game-winning goal in the 100th minute.
The 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season is not going as expected if we are being honest. Ollie Watkins, Cole Palmer, Bruno Fernandes, and others are still waiting to get off the mark. Meanwhile, injuries to Palmer and fellow Londoner Bukayo Saka have sent our FPL analysts scrambling.
The Gameweek 3 deadline for the 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season is Saturday, August 30, at 6:00 a.m. EDT, when Fulham visit Chelsea. Check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every EPL and UCL slate with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

Wale's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 3
Captain: Mohamed Salah vs. Arsenal OR Matheus Cunha vs. Burnley
Vice Captain: Mohamed Salah vs. Arsenal OR Matheus Cunha vs. Burnley
Transfers: Bukayo Saka > Matheus Cunha
I have three players flagged due to injury, Max Kilman has conceded eight goals in two games, and my two strikers have failed to score, facing each other next week. In another universe, I've already triggered my wildcard chip, but fortunately, I have two free transfers to try and fix this team.
My current transfer targets are Matheus Cunha and Richarlison. However, should Palmer be unavailable, Joao Pedro would come in. As for captaincy, I'm torn between Mohamed Salah and Matheus Cunha. Cunha has not been clinical in front of goal for Man United, and I doubt Salah will hit double-digits against Arsenal's sturdy defense.
I'll make my final decision on captaincy closer to the Gameweek 3 deadline.
Jamie's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 3
Captain: Erling Haaland at Brighton
Vice Captain: Hugo Ekitike vs. Arsenal.
Transfers: Bukayo Saka > TBD
I had another solid week, but it could have been even better with a different captain choice. Still, there's plenty to build on, although it will be a pivotal week with the transfer deadline looming and an international break after this round.
Because of that, I'd love to roll over my transfer this week. However, a transfer may be needed if Saka (£10.0m) is going to miss a significant amount of time. My midfield could do with an overhaul. I want to bring in Jack Grealish (£6.5m), but don't want to run with two Everton midfielders.
That would mean ousting Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£5.0m). I'm concerned about Rayan Cherki's (£6.5m) minutes in the early going, so I would like to move on from him also. Making three midfield transfers at this stage of the season isn't ideal, so I've certainly got plenty to
ponder over the next week.

Euan's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 3
Captain: Bruno Fernandes vs. Burnley
Vice Captain: Erling Haaland at Brighton
Transfers: Cole Palmer > Tijjani Reijnders
Despite a rather disastrous start to my 2025/26 FPL campaign, the temptation to roll again and carry three free transfers into the first international break of the campaign is very tempting.
First off, it gives me 33 percent more data than we have right now on teams, tactics, and lineups. Second, the transfer window will finally close, and we will know who is where and how all 20 teams look for the next five months (until the transfer window reopens in January).
However, suppose we find out Palmer is out for an extended period of time. In that case, there's always the option to move from the Chelsea man down to Tijjani Reijnders from Man City and then upgrade Fernandes to Salah. Still, transferring Fernandes out before a home game at Burnley seems a little silly.
