Fantasy Premier League - EPL Team Reveals for Gameweek 2 (2025)

Bukayo Saka - EPL-DFS-Euro-lineup-picks-english-premier-league-daily-fantasy-soccer-fanduel-draftkings-icon

Our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) analysts reveal their teams for Gameweek 2 of the English Premier League fantasy game. Expert picks on Captains, Strategy, Chips, and Transfers to make ahead of the upcoming FPL gameweek.

Happy Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 2, RotoBallers! Round 1 of the FPL Captaincy battle went to Erling Haaland over Mohamed Salah. The Norwegian striker scored 13 points versus Wolves, while his Egyptian counterpart bagged a late goal and eight points versus Bournemouth.

Antoine Semenyo had a flying start to the new season with two goals and all three bonus points at Anfield on Friday evening, in difficult circumstances. And Chris Wood continued to defy the xG Gods with two goals in Nottingham Forest's 3-1 victory over Brentford.

The Gameweek 2 deadline for the 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season is Friday, August 22, at 1:30 p.m. EDT, when West Ham hosts Chelsea. Check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every EPL and UCL slate with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

How To Play Fantasy Premier League Guide

Whether it's your first, second, or 20th season playing Fantasy Premier League, don't miss our How To Play Fantasy Premier League Guide for the 2025-26 season. It covers squad building, transfers, and all the new strategies coming to this great game for the upcoming campaign.

Wale's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 2

Captain: Bukayo Saka vs. Leeds

Vice Captain: Cole Palmer at West Ham

Transfers: Roll

Gameweek 1 was quite disappointing, but I'm hoping my squad can outperform next week's FPL average. Despite the lack of Man City coverage, I plan to save my free transfer for Gameweek 3 and use one transfer on Man United's Matheus Cunha rather than Bruno Fernandes against Burnley.

Brad's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 2

Captain: Cole Palmer at West Ham OR Mohamed Salah at Newcastle

Vice Captain: Cole Palmer at West Ham OR Mohamed Salah at Newcastle

Transfers: Roll

My plan was and still is to roll my transfer. Ollie Watkins to Victor Gyökeres is somewhat tempting given the Englishman's disappointing performance and Arsenal's lovely GW2 fixture against Leeds, but I'll likely stick to the plan.
I'm hoping a Burnley double up in defense can keep Sunderland at bay after they scored three goals in their opening game. Captaincy is a tough call this week, and I'm pretty 50/50 between Cole Palmer and Mohamed Salah.

Jamie's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 2

Captain: Bukayo Saka vs. Leeds

Vice Captain: Victor Gyorkeres vs. Leeds

Transfers: Roll

After a solid if unspectacular opening weekend, I'm not going to make wholesale changes. Tariq Lamptey is the one player I do need to oust, as he doesn't look like he'll be involved and will more than likely depart Brighton before the transfer window closes.

Patrick Dorgu was bombing forward for Manchester United, and he is someone I might look to bring in as Lamptey's replacement. Despite the praise in a losing effort, I'm not entirely sold on the Red Devils yet, so I'll take some time to explore other options.

Other than that, I will probably look to roll with the 3-4-3 formation. I don't have particularly great matchups for most of my attacking players, so I'm not expecting fireworks in Gameweek 2.

Euan's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 2

Captain: Erling Haaland vs. Spurs

Vice Captain: Cole Palmer at West Ham

Transfers: Roll

This team looks quite different from the Gameweek 1 Team Reveal from last week. Ultimately, I decided that Mohamed Salah's excellent 2024/25 campaign and Erling Haaland's underwhelming season weren't repeatable. This led me to believe in regression to the mean, and I ran with the theory that Liverpool's man will have a worse season, while the Norwegian improves significantly.

As for Gameweek 2, it'll be a 3-5-2 with Burnley's Martin Dubravka replacing Bart Verbruggen in net. The final decision will come down to Pedro Porro vs. Joachim Anderson. Suppose Thomas Frank deploys his wingback formation against Man City. In that case, I'll likely run with the upside of Porro and chase an attacking return rather than hoping Fulham can keep Man United off the scoreboard.
