Per the team, the Atlanta Falcons intend to sign free agent defensive back C.J. Henderson to an undisclosed contract. The 26-year-old was the former No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but spent only that season with the Jacksonville Jaguars -- the team that drafted him. After a brief stint with the Jags, he was traded to Carolina, where he spent three seasons, and finally landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, though he did not appear in a game. Injuries have limited Henderson to 49 of a possible 67 career games (21 starts), but he's been productive when on the field. The Falcons' defensive backfield is essentially set in stone -- retaining their starters from a season ago -- but the Florida product could play valuable snaps as a rotational asset. Defensive lineman Tyrone Wheatley Jr. was waived in a corresponding move.--Alex CiullaRead More News
