The Tampa Bay Rays are set to acquire catcher Nick Fortes from the Miami Marlins for outfield prospect Matthew Etzel, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. Fortes will replace Danny Jansen, whom the Rays traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. This isn't a needle-moving deal from a fantasy perspective, as the defense-first Fortes hasn't produced much offense since he debuted in 2021. The 28-year-old is a career .225/.277/.344 hitter over 1,073 plate appearances. Fortes has racked up 141 trips to the plate this season and batted .240/.288/.439 with two homers, 10 RBI, and 11 runs scored.--Connor Byrne
