Rays Place Brandon Lowe on Injured List
Brandon Lowe (ankle, foot) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with left-ankle/foot tendinitis, according to Bally Sports' Ryan Bass. It was announced on Saturday that Lowe was removed from the game due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot, but now he's apparently dealing with ankle and foot tendinitis. Either way, the 31-year-old All-Star is going to miss at least 10 days and potentially longer. It's a tough break for the Rays and for Lowe's fantasy managers, as he was having one of the best years of his career in the first half with a .269/.320/.480 slash line, .800 OPS, 19 home runs, 50 RBI, 55 runs and three steals in 323 at-bats. With Lowe out for at least the next 10 days, expect the Rays to mix and match with Jose Caballero and Taylor Walls at the keystone.
