Brenton Doyle Retreats to the Bench on Wednesday
Brenton Doyle will take the day off on Wednesday for the game against the visiting Houston Astros at Coors Field. Mickey Moniak will make the start in center field and will bat sixth against Astros right-hander Hunter Brown. After hitting 23 home runs, driving in 72 runs and stealing 30 bases in a breakout 2024 campaign, Doyle has fallen on hard times in 2025 and is currently slashing just .194/.246/.312 with a .558 OPS, six home runs, 28 RBI and eight steals in 72 games. The 27-year-old has hit .190 (8-for-42) with only one home run, three RBI, a steal, no walks and 11 strikeouts in 10 games over the last 14 days. Fantasy managers can only hope for better days ahead for the power/speed threat in the second half of 2025. Moniak has one hit in three career at-bats against Brown.
