Frank's outfield fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of 2025 (May 12 through May 18). Consider picking up and streaming these free-agent outfielders.

On this page, you'll read my Week 7 fantasy baseball outfielder waiver wire pickups, which focus on games from May 12 to May 18 of the 2025 MLB season. This week is highlighted by TJ Friedl with an upcoming homestand in a hitter-friendly environment, along with a couple of speedsters in Chandler Simpson and Victor Scott II.

The picks included in this article are a combination of standard formats and deeper leagues, using roster percentages from Yahoo! (11-50 percent for shallow leagues, 10 percent or less for deeper leagues).

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues

TJ Friedl, Cincinnati Reds (43% rostered)

Friedl is currently slashing .272/.339/.388 with 20 runs, three home runs, 16 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 166 plate appearances. The Reds outfielder has hit safely in six of his last seven games entering Friday's action, highlighted by a two-homer game against the Braves on May 7th.

The next week features six games at home, three of which are against the lowly White Sox and another three vs. the Guardians. Pick up Friedl for some multi-category contributions, including runs mixed with some speed.

Simpson has been as good as advertised so far, putting up six stolen bases in only 17 games coming into Friday's action. What's great is that Simpson has only been out of the lineup for three games. We've also seen him hit in the leadoff spot at times.

Despite the strong performance so far, Simpson is still widely available in Yahoo! leagues. Pick up the Rays outfielder if you need a boost in speed. Tampa Bay has six games this week, each on the road vs. the Blue Jays and Marlins.

Trent Grisham, New York Yankees (30% rostered)

Grisham has been a revelation for the Yankees, slashing .292/.376/.640 with 10 home runs in 101 plate appearances. This is a player who has always had strong plate discipline, posting double-digit walk rates every year, so he's even more appealing in OBP formats.

We've seen Grisham suit up in seven of the last nine games, consistently batting in the leadoff spot vs. righties. The batted ball metrics look intriguing as well, as highlighted by a 15.7% barrel rate, which ranks in the 89th percentile. Up next are six games: at Mariners and vs. Mets, with five coming against right-handed pitchers.

Daniel Schneemann, Cleveland Guardians (22% rostered)

Schneemann is a red-hot bat who has gone 8-for-19 (.421) with eight runs, three homers, and seven RBI in his last six games. You can fire up Schneemann at second base, third base, and shortstop on top of the outfield, so you have to love the versatility that he brings to your fantasy baseball team.

While this is a 28-year-old with a minimal track record in the big leagues, he's worth picking up while on a hot streak, especially with the positional flexibility you get with him on your roster. The Guardians have six games this week: vs. the Brewers and at the Reds. It'll be nice to get to use Schneemann at Great American Ball Park.

Evan Carter, Texas Rangers (11% rostered)

Carter was recalled to the big leagues after slashing .221/.333/.416 at Triple-A. While those are underwhelming numbers, you have to love the 14.4% walk rate. The Rangers wanted to kick-start their lethargic offense, which is why they took a shot on Carter regaining the form he showed during his rookie season in 2023.

Let's remember that this was a touted prospect who put up a 182 wRC+ in 75 plate appearances that year. While that's a small sample, it shows what Carter can do when he's firing on all cylinders. The Rangers have seven games this week, with three vs. the Rockies and four vs. the Astros, so it's a favorable schedule as well.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Deeper Leagues

Varsho has been red-hot since returning from injury, going 6-for-22 (.273) with four runs, three home runs, six RBI, and one steal in seven games. As an elite defender, Varsho will be in the lineup virtually every day, which gives him a lot of volume in plate appearances.

The Blue Jays have six home games this week, taking on the Rays and Tigers. What's great here for Varsho is that each of these games features a right-handed starter. Varsho has a 100 career wRC+ against righties compared to 87 wRC+ vs. lefties.

Eli White, Atlanta Braves (5% rostered)

White has been on a roll lately, hitting safely in 13 of his last 14 games, including 11 runs, nine RBI, and two steals during that stretch. While this is a 30-year-old with a limited track record in the majors, it makes sense to ride the wave while he's hot, especially in deeper formats.

Even though White has consistently hit at the bottom of the order -- mostly in the seventh or eighth spot -- the Braves lineup is good enough to provide opportunities for counting stats. Atlanta has seven games this week: home to the Nationals and on the road vs. the Red Sox, so it's a great schedule as well.

Pederson has been a huge disappointment for the Rangers so far. Entering Friday's action, the veteran slugger had a .132/.240/.209 slash with zero home runs in 105 plate appearances. But we're starting to see signs that Pederson is getting back on track. If we look at his Baseball Savant page, we see that his xwOBA over the last 100 PAs is slightly above average.

It's also worth noting that Pederson has two hits in two of his last three games. Up next is seven games on the schedule -- six of which are against righties. We could see Pederson put together one of his trademark power binges in this spot.

Trevor Larnach, Minnesota Twins (5% rostered)

Larnach is currently slashing .229/.309/.351 with five home runs in 153 plate appearances. Those are underwhelming numbers, but Larnach has hit safely in five of his last six games, including a home run on May 8th.

While the Twins have six games this week -- four of which vs. righties -- Larnach has hit in the leadoff or cleanup spot against right-handers, so there's some upside for counting stats.

Jo Adell, Los Angeles Angels (3% rostered)

Adell is a streaky hitter who could be finally getting going, as highlighted by his two home runs in his last three games. Perhaps this can help him secure more consistent playing time, as he's played in only two of his last four.

This is more of a stash in a five-outfielder league with at least 15 teams, as the power and speed upside with Adell is worth a look when he's running hot.
