EPL Betting Picks and Game Previews for Matchday 34: English Premier League

Jamie Steed previews EPL Matchday 34 of the 2024-25 season, starting on 4/26/2025. He previews each game from the English Premier League, picking bets and providing predictions for each game.

The EPL season rolls on, and we're bringing you our weekly article, which looks at betting picks and predictions for all games. Matchday 33 kicks off on Saturday, April 26, with Everton visiting Chelsea. It culminates on Sunday, April 27, when Liverpool hosts Tottenham Hotspur.

Every week, we'll offer a preview of all the games. We'll predict the outcome, give a score prediction, and pick our favorite play for all fixtures. Before you read on, remember these essential things: betting on sports should be fun. If you aren't having fun with it, stop. Also, never bet what you can't afford to lose.

We're bringing you more soccer content than ever before at RotoBaller. There are FPL, UCL, and DFS articles every week, along with our weekly betting picks and game previews article, all of which can be found here. Follow the team on X (@EuanFPL, @TheFPLManual, @df_solutions, @BellRoto, and yours truly, @Baseball_Jimbo), and reach out to any of us if you ever have any soccer questions.

Matchday 33 Recap

Despite last weekend's mixed bag, we still only missed out on a parlay by one goal. Everton blanking at home for the first time in seven games denied us our 'both teams to score' parlay. We saw some surprising results, but we still hit half of our picks, including two higher-odds underdogs.

This week, there are only seven EPL games across the two days. The FA Cup semi-finals take place on Saturday and Sunday as well, so we have an abbreviated fixture list to deal with.

Saturday, April 26, 2025

Chelsea (-175) vs. Everton (+475) - 7:30 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Chelsea 1 – 0 Everton

Chelsea remain in a battle for a top-5 spot and qualification for next season's Champions League. They're unbeaten in their last four league games but have been finding goals harder to come by. The Blues have scored six goals in their previous six EPL matches, as talisman Cole Palmer has been ice-cold.

It's a similar story for Everton. The Toffees have scored just five goals in their last seven games. They've not scored more than once in any of those fixtures. There have been 13 total goals in Everton's last nine away matches. We'll be taking under 2.5 total goals to kick off the weekend.

Brighton (-155) vs. West Ham United (+380) - 10:00 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Brighton 2 – 1 West Ham United

Two out-of-form teams meet this weekend. Brighton's taken just two points from their last five games. West Ham have drawn three and lost three of their previous six matches. Last weekend's draw at home against Southampton was arguably a new low for this season, resulting in this outburst.

One thing we should be guaranteed is goals. Brighton's last 10 league matches have averaged four goals a game. There were at least three goals scored in all of them. Despite their form, the Seagulls look a better side, so we'll take a home win and for there to be at least three total goals in the contest.

Newcastle United (-450) vs. Ipswich Town (+1200) - 10:00 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Newcastle United 3 – 1 Ipswich Town

Newcastle's defeat at Aston Villa ended their five-game winning streak. It was the Magpies' third straight game in which five goals were scored in the match. Their last 10 home games have all seen three or more total goals, with an average of 4.4 per game. We'll take over 2.5 total goals here.

We'll also play both teams scoring. Ipswich scored in each of their four games before last weekend. They scored twice in three of the matches. Newcastle have conceded 11 goals in their last six home games. The odds for a home win are so short, we'll leave playing the moneyline.

Southampton (+390) vs. Fulham (-155) - 10:00 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Southampton 1 – 2 Fulham

While Southampton's late equalizer against West Ham won't have meant much, it did mean they won't be setting a new record for the lowest points total in EPL history. The draw extended the Saints' winless run to nine games in the league.

Despite last week's loss, Fulham are still in with a chance of qualifying for European competition next season. With that in mind, we'll be playing for an away win. We'll also take both teams scoring, given Fulham's only clean sheet in their last 10 away games came against Leicester City.

Wolves (-180) vs. Leicester City (+450) - 10:00 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Wolves 3 – 0 Leicester City

Wolves are the only side to have won their last five league games. They have taken 29 points from the 17 games since appointing Vitor Pereira as manager. The three games in which Wolves blanked under Pereira were against sides currently in the top-5.

Leicester continues to break records. Last weekend, they lost their ninth consecutive home game without scoring. That run started with a 3-0 defeat against Wolves. A similar scoreline looks likely, and we'll be playing Wolves to win this one as my lock of the weekend.

Sunday, April 27, 2025

Bournemouth (-150) vs. Manchester United (+360) - 9:00 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Bournemouth 3 – 1 Manchester United

On the subject of home teams looking overpriced this weekend, Bournemouth is in the same boat. The Cherries are riding a modest three-game unbeaten run. Only Liverpool (12) and Nottingham Forest (11) have conceded fewer home goals than Bournemouth (14).

United's focus will be on the Europa League semi-final next Thursday. Their league form has been poor, with just one point and one goal scored in their last four EPL games. This feels like a home win is in order, and that's what we'll take.

Liverpool (-380) vs. Tottenham Hotspur (+750) - 11:30 a.m. EDT

Score prediction: Liverpool 4 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool only needs a point to secure the league title. This game feels like it will be a procession with an almost party atmosphere. That's partly due to the fact that Spurs will also have their focus on the Europa League. Like Manchester United, they have a semi-final on Thursday.

Liverpool's only kept two clean sheets in their last nine home games. While Spurs likely won't put up much of a fight, they have enough to score. Especially if the hosts are comfortable and cruising to the title, we'll take both teams scoring, at least three total goals, and a home win.

Betting Picks

The table below gives the odds for each game's three main plays (moneyline, total goals, and both teams to score). My favorite pick from each game is highlighted if you want to build a parlay (which I will be playing and tracking). Good luck with those FPL teams and EPL bets. Remember to bet responsibly!
