Outfield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 4 (2025)

Sal Frelick - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Frank's outfield fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 4 of 2025 (April 21 through April 27). Consider picking up and streaming these free-agent outfielders.

In this article, you'll find out Week 4 fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for outfielders, which focus on games from April 21 to April 27 of the 2025 MLB season. Today, we focus on players such as Tyler FitzgeraldSal FrelickChandler SimpsonLuke Keaschall, and more.

The focus here will be on five recommendations for standard formats and deeper leagues, using roster percentages from Yahoo! Players listed for standard leagues are rostered in a range of 11 percent to 50 percent, while deeper options are at 10 percent or less.

The outfielder waiver wire pickups either provide a short-term boost or have the potential to stick on your roster all year. With that in mind, let's dive into the Week 4 outfielder waiver wire picks for the 2025 MLB season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues

Tyler Fitzgerald, San Francisco Giants (43% rostered)

Tyler Fitzgerald is eligible at OF in Yahoo! leagues, so he's included on this list. This is a streaky hitter who entered Saturday's action on a 13-for-30 stretch with six runs, two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base.

Remember that this is a player who homered eight times in July last year, so it's a good idea to ride the wave while he's hot. The Giants have seven games next week, giving Fitzgerald plenty of opportunities to keep the good times rolling. Pick him up to deploy him at OF, 2B, or SS.

Sal Frelick, Milwaukee Brewers (27% rostered)

Sal Frelick is currently slashing .319/.413/.464 with 11 runs, one homer, six RBI, and five steals in 80 plate appearances. While there's zero power in this profile, the increase in stolen bases can help make him more useful.

It's also a good sign that Frelick has been entrenched in the five-spot while playing every day, as he's only taken a seat for one game so far. In terms of schedule, the Brewers have seven games next week, making Frelick a desirable volume play if he's available in your league.

Cam Smith, Houston Astros (26% rostered)

Cam Smith is in the column for the second straight week because he continues to swing a hot bat while being under-rostered. The Astros' rookie has gone 9-for-31 with five runs, three homers, 10 RBI, and one steal in his last nine games. This is highlighted by a two-homer outburst on April 18.

Remember that Smith is a top prospect who was the main piece of the Kyle Tucker trade, so there's a lot of upside here. Pick him up if he's available, as there's a chance that he can stick on your roster for the rest of the year.

Chandler Simpson, Tampa Bay Rays (21% rostered)

The Rays recalled Chandler Simpson from Triple-A on Friday. This is an outfielder with elite speed upside, putting up 104 stolen bases at all minor league levels in 2024.

If Tampa gives Simpson everyday playing time, there's a good chance that he'll be a difference-maker in stolen bases. While there's zero power here, this is the type of speed boost that can shoot your team up the standings, especially in roto formats. Pick up Simpson and see where this goes.

Mike Yastrzemski, San Francisco Giants (21% rostered)

Mike Yastrzemski has looked good at the plate lately, homering three times in his last 11 games. We've seen the veteran outfielder lead off vs righties at times, which is good news for this week when the Giants have seven games -- including six against right-handed pitchers.

Consider Yastrzemski as a one-week streamer as you look for a boost in runs. There's a low chance that he'll stay on your roster for the long term, but he's a good option for the week due to his schedule.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Deeper Leagues

Austin Hays, Cincinnati Reds (10%rostered)

Austin Hays returned to the Reds lineup on April 15, and he's already making an impact, homering twice in four games while getting at least one hit in each matchup.

The former Oriole has hit in the cleanup spot in three of those four games, which is great news for his counting stats, especially RBI. The Reds have a three-game series at Coors Field next weekend, so you'll want to have Hays in your lineup for that excellent spot.

Heston Kjerstad, Baltimore Orioles (8% rostered)

Heston Kjerstad is in this article for the second straight week because he continues to perform well in Colton Cowser's absence. We've seen Kjerstad hit three home runs in his last six games -- including a homer in back-to-back matchups on April 17 and 18.

There's a chance that the 26-year-old is finally finding his groove after the Orioles have given him an opportunity for everyday at-bats, which was long overdue. Even with Baltimore facing three lefties next week, it's worth it to pick up Kjerstad because he has long-term appeal.

Daulton Varsho, Toronto Blue Jays (7% rostered)

Daulton Varsho is an injury stash who is getting closer to returning to action for the Blue Jays. The center fielder is set for a rehab assignment on April 19, with the expectation of five games in the minors before he's back in Toronto. That puts him on track to return for next weekend's series against the Yankees.

What's good about Varsho is the power-speed upside, as he's had 27 homers and 16 steals as recently as 2022. While he's going to hurt your batting average, he's still worth a pickup in deeper formats due to the HR+SB production.

Luke Keaschall, Minnesota Twins (6% rostered)

The Twins called up top prospect Luke Keaschall, who is eligible at 1B, 2B, and OF in Yahoo! leagues. The 22-year-old put up 15 homers and 23 steals with an impressive 13.4 BB percentage and 17.2 K percentage in 464 plate appearances across the minors last season.

You have to love the plate discipline in this profile, so hopefully the Twins give him everyday at-bats to see what he can do. The rookie got off to a great start in his first game, going 2-for-4 with one run, one RBI, and one steal. While he hit eighth in the lineup, we could see him move up if he swings a hot bat.

Alex Call, Washington Nationals (4% rostered)

Alex Call is a streamer pick who has been entrenched in the leadoff spot for the Nationals, hitting there in five consecutive games. We've seen terrific plate discipline from Call, including an 18.5 BB percentage so far, giving him more appeal in OBP formats.

The Nationals get two lefties next week, which is good news for Call because he's batting .357 against them so far this year. If you need a one-week streamer in your deeper league, pick up Call for a boost in counting stats, especially runs.
