San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy's fantasy football value in dynasty leagues heading into 2025. Aidin Ebrahimi evaluates Purdy and ranks him among dynasty QBs.
Despite becoming the all-time leading passer for the Iowa State Cyclones, Brock Purdy wasn't a highly touted prospect due to his perceived lack of athleticism. The 49ers picked him with the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, but Mr. Irrelevant quickly proved everyone wrong.
In his first two years, he started in back-to-back NFC Championship Games, including a trip to the Super Bowl. But the 2024 season was a massive disappointment for Purdy and the Niners, and now the team is deciding whether it should offer him a new contract extension. Will he bounce back?

Brock Purdy 2024 Season Review
Despite being blitzed on 51.2 percent of his dropbacks, Purdy had a solid performance in Super Bowl LVIII but ultimately failed to win. The Niners entered the 2024 season as the odds-on favorite to repeat as NFC champions, and Purdy had odds of 16/1 (+1600) to win the league's MVP award.

After a pretty mediocre start, Purdy went off in Week 3, throwing for three touchdowns with a 137.1 passer rating. He was the fantasy football QB5 that week, but the Niners still lost to a hobbled Rams team. He got the team back to 2-2 after a solid but unspectacular performance against New England.
In a frustrating loss against Arizona in Week 5, Purdy threw a pick down by one with a chance to win the game. But then he caught fire. From Week 6 to Week 10, Purdy led the Niners to a 3-1 record and put up some great numbers.
Apart from throwing three picks in a loss against the Chiefs, Purdy was golden. He threw for 1,080 yards and six touchdowns with a 99.2 passer rating while also adding three scores on the ground.
Purdy averaged 23.5 fantasy points per game in that stretch, the third most among all QBs, only behind Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson. He even showed off his clutch gene as he led the 49ers down the field with 41 seconds left and got them into field-goal range to win a close game against the Bucs in Week 10.
Purdy couldn't repeat that performance in Week 11, as he failed in the clutch against the Seahawks and suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder.
That injury was still bothering Purdy, but he returned in Week 13 to help the team in its playoff quest. He only threw the ball 18 times in an ugly loss to the Bills.
Christian McCaffrey suffered a season-ending injury in that game, so all the pressure was on Purdy to lead the team to the playoffs. He bounced back with a QB7 performance in a win against the Bears the next week.
Unfortunately, the team's playoff hopes were dashed following a brutal loss to the Rams in Week 15 where neither team managed to find the end zone.
Purdy ended the year with two 300-yard performances but also two losses. He suffered another right arm injury late in Week 17, ending his season.
Despite the injury, he finished as the QB4 in the final two weeks of the fantasy football season. Despite the setbacks and injuries to the team and himself, he still averaged 18.6 fantasy points per game from Week 1 to Week 17, good enough to rank ninth, ahead of Kyler Murray, Jordan Love, Patrick Mahomes, and Justin Herbert, among others.
What is Brock Purdy Worth in Fantasy Football Dynasty Leagues?
As of March 18, according to KeepTradeCut's crowdsourced rankings, Purdy is the dynasty QB14. He's placed behind Kyler Murray and Jordan Love and ahead of J.J. McCarthy and Trevor Lawrence.

Despite his disappointing year, some of the names ahead of him are debatable. Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert are ranked way ahead of him, and so is Bo Nix.
Nix over Purdy is especially questionable, considering how Purdy is just 60 days older than Nix and averaged more fantasy points from Week 1 to Week 17.
Brock Purdy 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

GM John Lynch will rely on his stars to bounce back in 2025, as he didn't make many big acquisitions in the offseason. The Niners will also deal with some departures, such as Deebo Samuel Sr. and key defensive piece Talanoa Hufanga.
San Francisco desperately needs some defensive help and some fresh faces on the offensive line. It is hoping it can fill these holes using its league-leading 11 draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
This includes four picks in the top 100 (11, 43, 75, 100) that could breathe some new life into the team. The biggest moves have been to the team's staff. Robert Saleh is now the new defensive coordinator following his stint as the Jets head coach.
Saleh is a very talented defensive coach who can get the defense back on track, allowing for more possessions for Purdy and the offense. The average drive against Saleh's 2023 Jets defense only lasted 2:30 minutes, and if he can get the same results in San Francisco, the offense will have more time to accumulate stats.
Additionally, Klay Kubiak (the son of Super Bowl-winning head coach Gary Kubiak) was promoted to offensive coordinator to help Kyle Shanahan with his plays. This offense could use some creativity, and Kubiak will attempt to bring some new ideas to the table.
If Christian McCaffrey returns to his 2023 form and the team's injured players bounce back, Purdy can silence the doubters and return to his peak. With a healthy roster around him, Purdy finished as the fantasy football QB6 in 2023.
But there are some red flags. This is an old team, so the Niners will have to nail this draft if they want to remain competitive for the next few years.
Also, Purdy's extension is a huge question mark. If you want my verdict, you should keep Purdy if (and only if) he signs a big extension with the team this offseason. He's a great fantasy quarterback for his QB14 value and will only get better if the team is committed to him.
