LIV Golf Betting Picks- 2025 Singapore

The LIV Golf League will hold this week’s event at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore. Sentosa Golf Club has two courses on site, using the Serapong for this week’s event. The Serapong course is as scenic a course as you will find, with the Sentosa ports and business district as the backdrop for several holes. It is currently ranked 55th in Golf Digest’s World’s 100 Greatest Courses. It was ranked the top course in Singapore and one of the top courses in all of Asia.

The Serapong opened in 1982 and hosted the Singapore Open from 2005 until 2020. Both Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia were winners of that event. This will be the third consecutive year that LIV has held an event at Sentosa. Talor Gooch was victorious in 2023, defeating Sergio Garcia in a playoff to win at -17. Brooks Koepka, Scott Vincent, and Mito Pereira rounded out the top five for the week. Brooks Koepka won this event last season at -15, defeating Cam Smith and Marc Leishman by two strokes.

The event will be played Friday-Sunday and will air on a new broadcast network, Fox Sports. Due to the tournament being played internationally, the start time for Round 1 will be 9:15 p.m. EST. The tournament can also be viewed through LIV Golf Plus and the LIV Golf App.

LIV Golf Singapore Course Breakdown

Below is the official Round 1 scorecard provided by LIV Golf.

Hole 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Out
Par 4 3 4 5 4 4 5 3 4 36
Yardage 427 168 495 587 468 444 587 216 452 3862
Hole 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 In
Par 4 4 4 4 3 4 4 3 5 35
Yardage 402 412 493 450 202 428 412 182 563 3544

The Serapong course will play as a 7406-yard par-71 this week. The distance and setup of the course would suggest that bombers have a slight advantage this week. In speaking with Pat Perez after the final round of LIV Hong Kong, Phil Mickelson spoke of the differences between the course in Hong Kong and the course this upcoming week in Singapore. He stated “we need more length (this week). At Sentosa there’s a lot of drives where you’re going to want to hit bombs. About five of them. And then, there’s a lot of holes that aren’t driver.”

Ironically, neither Brooks Koepka nor Talor Gooch finished particularly high on the week in driving distance in the years they won this event. Gooch was 34th in 2023 and Koepka just 28th last season. However, this could point more to strategic play on the holes that don’t require driver, as Phil alluded to above. Some dog legs and strategically placed bunkers force players to hit into landing areas on certain holes. That said, longer hitters will have the ability to go at the par-5s in two with good tee shots, whereas some shorter hitters will be forced to lay up.

Koepka played the three par-5’s at -6 in his three rounds last season. In 2023, Talor Gooch won this event with his driver, despite what the driving distance numbers on the week may say. Gooch unleashed a driver on the 18th hole in both regulation and the playoff, while Sergio Garcia hit 3-wood off the tee. Both times Gooch was able to get to the green in two and ultimately won the event because of his aggressive play.

The pins are tucked in a lot of situations, forcing players to shoot toward the middle of the greens rather than go at pins. This puts an emphasis on putting and iron play. Talor Gooch finished first in the field in putting en route to his victory in 2023. Koepka was T5 in putting last season when he won this event. Marc Leishman and Cam Smith who finished tied in second also finished the week inside the top five in putting.

One interesting point of note is the timing of this event. Each of the past two seasons, this event was played either the last week of April or the first week of May. This year it is being moved up nearly a month and a half to mid-March.

LIV Golf Betting Strategy and Selections - Singapore

Brooks Koepka +1800

It’s about that time of the year where Brooks tends to ramp up for the majors. With just two events left before Augusta, I expect to see the 5-time major champion locked in this week. In addition to scheduling and where this event falls on the calendar, the 34-year-old has a ton of admiration for the course. He spoke with Rick Shiels earlier in the year about the upcoming 2025 season and was asked where he was excited about visiting.

“I’m excited to go back to Singapore. Obviously, I’ve had good results, but honestly, it’s a cool country, the culture and everything, it’s just been a lot of fun. The golf course is great. My family has come every year. Honestly, I think it’s the best course we play, Sentosa is pretty cool. You’re right there you have maybe five holes on the water there where you can see kind of the port.” He then went on to describe some intricacies of the golf course and challenges players face while playing the course.

Brooks has had fantastic results here, winning this event last year and finishing 3rd in 2023. One underrated thing about the Smash GC captain throughout his career is that despite being one of the most talented golfers of this generation, he tends to perform well at the same events. On the PGA Tour, two of his four non-major wins came at the same event, the Waste Management. On the Japan golf tour, his only two wins came at the same event, Dunlop Phoenix Open. Lastly, two of his five LIV wins have come at LIV Jeddah.

LIV Singapore at Sentosa may be the next repeat event etched on that list. The course setup is perfect for his game. Koepka gained 0.94 strokes on approach last week, finally showing some momentum with the irons. He’s been great around the green all season but lost a stroke and a half with the putter last week. The past two season at Sentosa, Koepka finished T5 and T4 in putting on the week.

Thomas Pieters +7500

Thomas Pieters is a guy I like a lot this week. He finished T5 at this event last season and has had a pretty good start to his LIV season in 2025. Pieters finished T18 and T12 in the first two events of the season, before finishing T30 last week in Hong Kong. I am not going to put too much emphasis onto last week’s performance as Hong Kong Golf Club is just not a good course fit for Pieters. It takes away many of Pieters’ best attributes, which will get to be put on display this week.

A risk-reward golf course where length off the tee could be a big advantage plays directly into Pieters’ game. The Belgian Bomber ranks 13th this year in driving distance and 5th in Green in Regulation percentage. He gained a stroke on the field last week putting per data golf, which was a drastic turnaround from his disastrous performance in Australia. After round two, Pieters gave his putter away and bought a new one from the pro shop to use in round three.

Phil Mickelson +12500

It’s hard to believe what we’re seeing in 2025 at age 54, but Phil looks great. In his two starts so far this year he’s gained strokes off the tee, on approach and around the green in both. He putted poorly his first time out in Adelaide but was better last week in Hong Kong, en route to a third-place finish. Can Phil get back in the winner’s circle? He believes so.

He spoke with Pat Perez following his third-place finish in Hong Kong and stated “I’ve got to find another way to beat these guys, right? I hit a lot of fairways this week, let my iron play come out. I hit a lot of good putts today that didn’t go in. I have to find another way to beat these guys, I’m not overpowering them. And I think I’m figuring it out.”

The three-time Masters champion would obviously love to make another run at the green jacket in April and knows these two tournaments leading up to Augusta are important. He acknowledged that he needed to keep building and go into the season’s first major with momentum. I look for Phil to continue building on his last few events and get back into contention this week in Singapore.
