Correcting a previous report on Monday, the New Orleans Saints have not requested permission to interview former Stanford head coach David Shaw for their head-coaching position, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Shaw left Stanford after the 2022 season and is currently working as a senior personnel executive for the Denver Broncos. Although there have been conflicting reports, it wouldn't be a surprise for the Saints to eventually reach out to Shaw for the head-coaching opening this offseason. The Saints are looking for a new head coach after firing Dennis Allen midway through the 2024 campaign, with interim head coach Darren Rizzi initially giving the club a short-lived spark before eventually finishing the season out of the playoffs. Shaw could give the Saints a fresh perspective, but he has no NFL coaching experience and would likely be a long shot for the job.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
