Week 9 Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams - Fantasy Football Outlook

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp looks to return to WR1 form after his solid return in Week 8, even though fellow wideout Puka Nacua (knee) overshadowed him. He caught five passes on eight targets for 51 yards and a receiving touchdown. Week 9 presents a solid matchup against a Seattle Seahawks defense that ranks 16th in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers.

Nacua's status against Seattle is uncertain, meaning more targets could be heading Kupp's way if Nacua is ruled out. Darius Slayton, Deebo Samuel Sr., and Khalil Shakir have all gone over 100 yards receiving in recent weeks against them. The Rams' offense seems to be back in peak form with all of their weapons back.

Expect his target share to continue to go up each week, as history has shown when Matthew Stafford is under center. Kupp should be started with confidence in all lineups and check in as RotoBaller's WR10 in the Week 9 rankings.

- Jake Walker, RotoBaller

Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins - Fantasy Football Outlook

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle enters Week 9 having only scored 10-plus PPR points in one game in 2024. Even with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) returning to the lineup last week, he could only record four receptions on six targets for 45 yards. To add insult to injury, Waddle has yet to score a touchdown through seven games.

This week presents a tough matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that gives up the sixth-least fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Waddle has been held to eight catches for 87 yards in the last two appearances against Buffalo. Making matters worse is the fact that temperatures are projected to drop into the thirties in Orchard Park on Sunday.

It wouldn't be surprising if he has another disappointing performance this week. Despite the tough matchup, Waddle is WR27 in the latest RotoBaller rankings, making him a high-end WR3 against the Bills for Week 9.

- Jake Walker, RotoBaller

Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals - Fantasy Football Outlook

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown has taken over as the undisputed option out of the backfield. Granted, Zack Moss (neck) has remained involved. However, with Moss doubtful for the Week 9 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, that should mean even more work for Brown. The 24-year-old has found the end zone at least once in four of the Bengals' previous five contests.

Although he has averaged only 4.6 yards per carry, he's made up for it (to a degree) by getting some targets from Joe Burrow. His chances of seeing more attention from Burrow will increase if Moss and Tee Higgins (quadriceps) are ruled out. But even if those players are miraculously on the field versus Vegas, Brown should continue to be considered a starting fantasy option.

- Dennis Clausen, RotoBaller
