Blake Corum - RB, Rams

Blake Corum was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to help ease Kyren Williams' workload. Williams is already set to miss OTAs with a "foot issue" but Sean McVay says the RB is expected for training camp. The red flags there have elevated the rookie's buzz this summer.

The 5-foot-8 Corum showed immense power behind Michigan's stout offensive line, totaling nearly 60 touchdowns in 49 games across three starting seasons. Most swoon over 27 rushing TDs in '23 but his 4.8 yards per carry was a drop from 5.9 the year before. Volume is no concern here as Corum topped 250 touches as both a junior and senior, though he was rarely involved as a receiver.

If that more effective rusher seen at Michigan in 2022 meets a starting opportunity within McVay's creative rushing scheme then top-10 weeks are possible. Corum's half-PPR ADP has risen into the first 10 rounds of 12-team drafts as of early June to go with a RotoBaller rank of 136.

--Nick Mariano - RotoBaller

Adonai Mitchell - WR, Colts

The Colts took Adonai Mitchell with the 52nd overall pick in April's 2024 NFL Draft. This continues a trend of Day-2 WR picks, as Indianapolis is still seeking a wideout to complement Michael Pittman Jr. after drafting slot man Josh Downs in the third round of 2023 and Alec Pierce in the second back in 2022.

Mitchell performed well at the NFL Combine after blossoming in his junior year at Texas, hauling in 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns behind Xavier Worthy. The athleticism shown in the highlights can overshadow inconsistent play, but he only needs to be better than an extremely inconsistent Alec Pierce to earn a shot. MPJ takes one side while Downs often mans the slot, with Mitchell able to be the deep threat.

Anthony Richardson isn't a great passer yet, but he also registered five throws of 30 or more yards on just 84 total attempts as a rookie. That ~6% rate (in a small sample) ranks third out of QBs with at least 75 attempts in '23, sitting between Joe Flacco and Matthew Stafford. Even if Mitchell earns the job then the boom-bust nature will lead to tough calls in traditional formats, with best ball better fitting his range of outcomes.

--Nick Mariano - RotoBaller

Ben Sinnott - TE, Commanders

Washington Commanders' rookie tight end Ben Sinnott was selected in Round 2 of the NFL Draft as the second tight end off the board. Sinnott walked on to Kansas State as a freshman, but was the top playmaker on the team as a junior as he caught 49 catches for 676 yards and six touchdowns.

The Sam LaPorta comparisons are heating up given the similar playstyle of the two tight ends, but an 889 yard, 10 touchdown season is a very high expectation to live up to. Sinnott walks into a room with veteran Zach Ertz set to compete for the starting role. The receiver room is lacking behind

Terry McLaurin, offering immediate opportunity for Sinnott to see success. Rookie quarterbacks often target tight ends, and Sinnott will function as Jayden Daniels' security blanket from the jump. The tight end position does not offer much upside outside of the top options, and Sinnott is one of the best that you can find later in drafts.

--Brant Henson - RotoBaller

Bucky Irving - RB, Buccaneers

Bucky Irving went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft after a disappointing NFL Combine lowered expectations. He posted particularly poor vertical and broad jump metrics, but his body of collegiate work and fit within Tampa's scheme provide hope. Not only did Irving top 1,000 rushing yards in both of his Oregon years after transferring from Minnesota, but he also caught a whopping 56 passes in 2023 alone.

The Bucs saw Rachaad White tally 50 or more receptions in back-to-back seasons, though he's yet to average over 3.7 yards per carry in a year. Some of that is on the O-Line, but results matter. Meanwhile, Irving had a 6.8 YPC in 2022 and a 6.3 mark in '23.

The NFL will demand more of Irving's power and elusiveness but the environment is there for a versatile back by proving more efficient than White, whose value is built on volume. Irving is RotoBaller's RB61 in half-PPR ranks and the No. 55 RB in early half-PPR ADP, making him a healthy sleeper option in the late rounds.
