Two-Start Pitcher Streamers: Fantasy Baseball SP Pickups and Starts - Week 24 (2024)

Osvaldo Bido - Fantasy Baseball, MLB, Waiver Wire Rankings

Starting pitcher two-start streamers for Week 24 (2024). Fantasy baseball SP waiver wire pickups for pitchers with two starts scheduled in the week ahead, September 2 to September 8.

Welcome RotoBallers to our Two-Start Pitcher Streamers article - Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts for Week 24, from September 2 to September 8. With multiple teams having six or seven games on their schedule, we're looking at a nice variety of two-start pitchers.

Each week of this fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers expected to make two starts in the upcoming week. It can be considered as fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 32 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will be looking at pitchers who are less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues. Listed will be those who are rostered over 50%, those who are best available under 50%, and risky options under 50%. There are a few other two-start pitchers available, but they should be avoided.

Two-Start Pitchers - Over 50% Rostered

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Osvaldo Bido (44% Rostered), Oakland Athletics

Scheduled Starts: vs. SEA, vs. DET

Since permanently joining the Oakland rotation in late June, Osvaldo Bido holds a 2.70 ERA, 3.28 FIP, 1.03 WHIP, and 24.3% strikeout rate through seven starts. There are still some concerning metrics from the aforementioned span, with a 10.3% walk rate and 4.65 xFIP being the most worrying.

However, his stuff has played well enough this year to feel confident against a Seattle offense leading the league in strikeouts and a Detroit offense ranked 22nd in scoring since the All-Star break.

Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks

Kyle Harrison (46% Rostered), San Francisco Giants

Scheduled Starts: vs. ARZ, @ SD

Kyle Harrison has put together some impressive starts lately, but bumps along the way have kept him to a 4.22 ERA, 4.28 FIP, 1.31 WHIP, 22.3% strikeout rate, and 7.9% walk rate through 22 starts this season.

You'd think twice about streaming him in most weeks, but he's not worth considering with starts against Arizona -- the league's top-scoring offense this season by nearly 40 runs -- and a San Diego offense tied for seventh in scoring this season.

Eduardo Rodriguez (46% Rostered), Arizona Diamondbacks

Scheduled Starts: vs. LAD, @ HOU

Eduardo Rodriguez has disappointed since returning to the mound in early August, with a 5.06 ERA and 17.8% strikeout rate through 4 starts this season. There's not enough to say whether E-Rod has degraded fully, but you won't want to test it against a robust Dodgers offense.

Ryne Nelson (45% Rostered), Arizona Diamondbacks

Scheduled Starts: @ SF, @ HOU

Ryne Nelson has kept afloat this season, with a 4.22 ERA, 3.73 FIP, 19.6% strikeout rate, and 5.2% walk rate through 23 starts. He'll get a Houston offense ranked 13th in scoring this season and a San Francisco offense ranked 18th in scoring this season.

Nelson, with a relatively high ceiling and favorable matchups this week, is not the most risky stream on this side of the tracks, but you'd rather go another way.

Jeffrey Springs (43% Rostered), Tampa Bay Rays

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIN, @ BAL

Jeffrey Springs has pitched well since returning from Tommy John surgery, with a 3.67 ERA, 3.76 FIP, 28% strikeout rate, and 7.6% walk rate through six starts this season. Despite a good stretch, he isn't yet someone you'd confidently stream against two top-10 scoring offenses.

Gavin Williams (42% Rostered), Cleveland Guardians

Scheduled Starts: @ KC, @ LAD

With a 4.99 ERA, 3.82 FIP, and 24.9% strikeout rate through 11 starts this season, it is bound to get better soon for Gavin Williams. Unfortunately, you can't yet confidently stream Williams against two offenses ranked in the top six in scoring this season.

Andrew Heaney (25% Rostered), Texas Rangers

Scheduled Starts: vs. NYY, vs. LAA

In a cruel twist of fate, Andrew Heaney's Sunday start against Oakland Athletics was moved off to Monday, pushing him into a start against the best offense in the AL. With a 3.95 ERA, 23% strikeout rate, and 6.4% walk rate, you'd like Heaney against most opponents. However, Soto, Judge, and company aren't most opponents, forcing him into risky stream territory this week.

Simeon Woods Richardson (19% Rostered), Minnesota Twins

Scheduled Starts: @ TB, @ KC

Simeon Woods Richardson has been a serviceable pitching option this season, with a 3.85 ERA, 4.04 FIP, 20.9% strikeout rate, and 7.8% walk rate through 23 starts.

There's been little to excite however, with a 26.4% CSW%, 11.2% SwStr%, and 87 Stuff+ grade this season making him a low-ceiling option regularly. A Kansas City offense ranked sixth in scoring this season is a tough test for the 23-year-old -- a tough test whose result you ideally won't want to have a stake in.

Zack Littell (16% Rostered), Tampa Bay Rays

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIN, @ BAL

Zack Littell has done well for us all season, maintaining a 3.89 ERA, 4.11 FIP, 21.1% strikeout rate, and 4.7% walk rate through 24 starts. However, you can't think about Littell with formidable Minnesota and Baltimore offenses on the slate.

David Festa (11% Rostered), Minnesota Twins

Scheduled Starts: @ TB, @ KC

Outside of a 4.89 ERA, rookie David Festa has had an encouraging start to his career. Through eight starts, Festa holds a 3.37 xFIP, 1.20 WHIP, 28.7% strikeout rate, and 6.7% walk rate. The advanced metrics look incredible for Festa, with a 12.5% SwStr%, 30.2% CSW%, and 102 Stuff+ grade.

Unfortunately, he gets a Kansas City offense ranked second in scoring since the All-Star break. He's likely to yield good results through the rest of the year, but it would be inopportune to stream him this week.
