Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire 1B/3B Pickups for Week 13 (2024)

Brendan Donovan - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Lauren's fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for 1B and 3B for Week 13 of the 2024 season. Consider adding these free agent first basemen and third basemen.

Another week of baseball is down, and it's time to take a look at more first base and third base fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 13 — June 17 through June 23.

Andrew Vaughn is showing signs of his high-upside potential, making him a must-add for his power and run-production capabilities. Brendan Donovan's versatility and consistent performance make him a reliable option in multiple positions. Tyler Soderstrom is an emerging talent whose recent call-up could translate to instant offensive contributions. Amed Rosario offers speed and positional flexibility. Lastly, Spencer Horwitz's impressive minor league track record and recent promotion suggest he could be a hidden gem for batting average and on-base percentage.

As the fantasy baseball season progresses, finding impactful additions to your roster becomes crucial for maintaining a competitive edge. Adding these players to your fantasy baseball team could be the key to next week's success.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Waiver Wire Pickups for Shallow Leagues (30-50% rostered)

Brendan Donovan, 1B/2B/OF, St. Louis Cardinals (30% rostered)

The Cardinals have slowly but surely climbed back into the National League wild-card conversation. Not only has former MVP Paul Goldschmidt begun to swing the bat the way he's supposed to, but Brendan Donovan has continued his solid year at the plate.

The 27-year-old just keeps hitting and has even added some power this season. Donovan has slashed .346/.393/.500 with nine hits, including a homer and three RBI in his last seven games. Overall, he boasts a .248 batting average with five home runs, 29 RBI, and 20 walks.

Andrew Vaughn, 1B, Chicago White Sox (32% rostered)

It's about time the White Sox had some good news, right? As they say, happiness is fleeting, so it's best to take advantage of Andrew Vaughn's recent success while you can. The 26-year-old, who hit 21 homers last season, has finally started to swing for the fences again.

His hot streak includes two home runs, four RBI, and a .517 slugging percentage in the last week. As Chicago's 2024 campaign has essentially been a lost cause from the start, Vaughn will likely be on the trade block if he keeps this up. Perhaps joining a contender will help the former first-round selection reach his previous potential.

Waiver Wire for Deeper Leagues (10-30% rostered)

Tyler Soderstrom, C/1B, Oakland Athletics (16% rostered)

A former first-round pick of the Athletics in 2020, Tyler Soderstrom has found his power stroke in the last week. The 22-year-old belted three home runs, collecting six RBI, three walks, and five runs. Through June 14, he's hit in six straight games and has a .281 average thus far this month.

It's the best offensive stretch of his young career, and it's helped to bring his season totals up to .224/.337/.421. That still isn't fantastic, but it shows Soderstrom is trending in the right direction. And, of course, Oakland will take any small wins they can get.

Amed Rosario, 2B/3B/SS/OF (24% rostered)
With Brandon Lowe and Taylor Walls returning for the Tampa Bay lineup, Amed Rosario has seen his playing time diminish. While that's important to consider before rostering him, he's also swung the bat well in his role, which is almost exclusively against lefties.

Against southpaws, the veteran is hitting .303 with a home run and seven RBI. He owns a .294 batting average in over 200 plate appearances this season, and with the recent DFA of Harold Ramirez and the Rays' struggles, that's about all they can ask for in the AL East basement.

Deeper Waiver Wire Options to Consider (Under 10%)

Spencer Horwitz, 1B, Toronto Blue Jays (4% rostered)

Recalled from Triple-A on June 7, Spencer Horwitz has come through for the Blue Jays in his six games this season. He's put together a .368/.455/.421 slash line with seven hits, two RBI, and three walks.

The 26-year-old has been hitting atop Toronto's lineup and has been an on-base machine, something the club has needed in the wake of Bo Bichette's offensive decline. The longtime Jays shortstop could also be on the move on the deadline, meaning Horwitz's bat will be even more necessary.
